“THANKS FOR NOT GETTING TIRED OF ME”

That was my text message to my brother, Kevin, a few minutes ago. I call him 10,000 brothers because of the genuine love and support I receive from him. He is my special adviser in every aspect of my life! I know I have disappeared a little on you guys because Kevin was the one who fussed me out for two hours to leave my hubby in Nigeria and get back to our business here in the US. The spolit wifey now has to work hard but I’m enjoying the family hustle like Kevin also advises me on. Here’s an old post that inspired me recently:

GIVE YOUR HEART TO GOD

AND TO GOD ALONE!!! Let me tell ya, you don’t want to miss out on the most significant relationship ever with GOD HIMSELF!!! I’m in a new realm of closeness with Him now, baby. Like yesterday, a new friend keeps telling me he will buy a car from me. We have some pretty sacred conversations that God uses to reveal His Presence with me. The thing is pretty freaky!

Yesterday, he told me about a friend who was so brokenhearted over a lady he was having a long-distance relationship with and found out the lady had just given birth to a baby for another man. I held my hand to him as if I was holding a heart. I said, “Your heart should only belong to God. Don’t give it to anyone else! They are only going to break it! Once you know God is the complete owner of it, you handle everyone in their proper perspective.”

Fast forward a couple of hours later, I felt my spirit saying to go and read from my meditation book, ‘Jesus As Friend’ and look what incredibly showed up:

“Guarding the heart means KEEPING IT FOR GOD…Guarding the heart also means loving purely and passionately those whom we ought to love, while excluding the jealousy, envy and restlessness which are sure sources of disorder in love.”

That was no coincidence, guys!!! God wants to be the sole owner of our hearts!!! One day this friend asked me to hang out with him outside of work, and I said to him that I was infinitely percent faithful to my husband, that I am his ride or die and whatever we must go through, we’ll go through it together. I explained that I’m God’s prototype for a wife, mom, and person. The next day, I ran to God in a rough moment, and this showed up in an old post:

“Google defines a prototype (Wink! Wink!) as “someone or something that serves as a model or inspiration for those that come later.”

Again, no coincidence! I took that as an extra special wink from God to inspire you as the superhero wife, mom, and person on God’s behalf. No matter what anyone else is doing, I want God to hold full possession of our hearts, then share His love with the world – HOLDING EVERYONE IN THEIR PROPER PERSPECTIVE! Don’t give your heart to anyone!!! Just love everyone genuinely and purely with God’s love! Got that? This old post explains where God wants us:

“It was my brother, Kevin, who said to me under my God tree one day something like, “Neeks, you’re like a boxer right now. You eventually get numb to the pain after getting hit in your head like 10,000 times.” That’s what has happened. The figurative (not real, guys!) blows don’t affect me like they did in the past. The emotional, weak, and wreck of a person needed to go! This was all God’s LOVING way to help me become the Neeks He would have me to be: courageous, tough, brave, strong, confident in Him woman, but at the same time, loving, gentle, loyal, faithful, enduring, kind, and going the extra mile wife, mother and person HE WOULD HAVE ME TO BE. Thanks to the pain!

One Sunday, I was at brunch with Kevin when an elderly server said, “You have to have a shield on so that nothing gets through to bother and upset you.” I wake up now and put on my shield. The disappointments still come, but with my shield on, I don’t let them get to me anymore the way they used to. I now live from a space of having one foot on earth with the hurts, disappointments, messiness, clutter, challenges, and brokenness exist, and the other foot in heaven FOCUSED ON GOD.”

Can we all serve as God’s prototypes, bringing heaven to earth by being His representatives, especially in our homes? God’s ways are not our ordinary human ways. Like I told hubby with the boys today, “If we ask anything more of you, we would be greedy!” God has been teaching me to focus on the angels and innocence of others, not their demons and guilt. Me included! I’m still my own biggest enemy! We’re all a constant work in progress.

“Learn to get good at covering the offenses of others,” is what Victoria Osteen taught me. We do that for God and ourselves so that we don’t waste precious time and energy getting bitter, angry, upset, and constantly frustrated, replacing those emotions with love, forgiveness, gentleness, kindness, and patience. I leave everyone on their journey with God while focusing on running my race the best I can. I had such a beautiful evening picking up and hanging out with my super sons! Super wife, momma, and person, all for God’s glory! I get to show up every day knowing He has my back! My help comes from the Lord! Wink! Wink!

WOW! WOW! WOW!

God blows me away with His deep love and attention. So, every morning I say before my run I must share a message from Ceri. Out of 563 of his messages I have saved on our YouTube channel, I picked was the perfect one to reshare for the new year where he spoke out this verse:

“No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us.” – Philippians 3:13-14

Fast forward about three hours later, my other messenger from God, Joey, sends me this message:

Forget about it

The past mistakes and failures were real and even painful, but you can’t allow it to influence today. Do as Paul said “this one thing I do, forget the things behind.” So forget about it. Philippians 3:13

The fact that out of Ceri’s 563 messages, I picked that one quoting that specific verse, to line up so perfectly with Joey’s message was God Himself speaking to us all today – NO COINCIDENCE!!! Here’s what Ceri explained:

“Today, I am grateful for a new year AND I’M GRATEFUL FOR WHATEVER LIES AHEAD. Something that stood out to me what Paul said in this particular verse when he’s speaking of the Philippians was he said, “but I focus on one thing: forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead.” He didn’t say that he had amnesia and forgot about the past, he said but I FOCUS on one thing. That means that he actually took his time and dedicated his time. When you focus on something, you put all your time and energy into that. That’s what focus is like, when you actually focus on something you have tunnel vision toward it.

When we have plans, goals, dreams, we have to focus on it. We have to tunnel vision that! We have to remember that our past doesn’t determine who we are. Our past just is something that we live, it’s a process that we went through. It’s what lies ahead that matters and the decisions we make today will determine how our future lies ahead, not our past. Our choices today cannot affect our past. What’s done has already been done, but the decisions that we make today, are what will affect tomorrow. And I think that that’s one of the messages Paul was trying to convey to us in these verses.

Another thing that he said that I must highlight is “I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the Heavenly prize for which God through Christ Jesus is calling us.” That Heavenly prize is to live with him and obey his word. But most importantly, following these two Commandments that I always stress: love God and love each other. That’s it. Love God and love each other.

It’s so important for us that while we’re focusing, to remember those two things because they will determine today what our tomorrow is like by loving God and loving each other. We focus on them. Go ahead towards our goals. Head in the direction of our goals, but keep those two things at the center of our life – His Commandments: loving Him and loving each other. That will help to determine how good of a future we have, which will carry us to our Heavenly prize for which God through Christ Jesus is calling us.”

Honestly, following this advice from Ceri of leaving the past in the past and loving God and loving others has led me to a beautiful destination! Seeing my daughter, Ember, on a video call in their new apartment that she is sharing with her sister, Julie, made the momma so incredibly happy. GOD, THANK YOU FOR YOUR GUIDANCE!! I love my life, and I’m GRATEFUL FOR WHAT LIES AHEAD, AS I FOCUS ON LOVING GOD AND OTHERS. (Wink! Wink!)”

“I WANT TO SHOW YOU OFF, MY NIK!”

That’s God singing to me through Doja Cat, baby! This God wink started with me showing off my daughter Ember’s pics from TikTok, and then early the following day, God played this song to me, saying, ‘Nik, I want to show you off!’ Fast forward to today, and I am going to post my videos to YouTube, I noticed a video got 120 views, and I went to replay it. Can you believe it’s me telling that very story with, amazingly, that very Doja Cat song playing in the background on the radio station? The astonishing part is that the radio station is counting down the top 30 songs for 2023, so for that song to play at the precise time I was listening to that video from a few days ago was God Himself confirming that message, ‘Yes, Nik, I do want to show you off!!!’ No way this all lined up so perfectly on its own; it was all orchestrated by God Himself, once again overwhelming me with His Presence! NO ONE CAN TELL ME THAT WAS JUST SOME ORDINARY COINCIDENCE!!!

And this awareness of God’s Presence gives me the strength and courage to take on my life. I love this prayer that showed up in my appointment with God today:

“Dear Lord, thank You for this day (and this new year!!!). Thank You for waking us up this morning. And thank You for everything You give us. I pray for us to help know Your BOLDNESS. That we will be able to move forward in our faith, in our prayer life, and in everything that we are doing. That you will be at the center of every move we make and KNOW THAT MISTAKES ARE OK. To know that we can move forward and that YOU ARE BY OUR SIDE THROUGH ALL OF IT. And that we will be able to prosper and have abundance and growth and help other people to grow as well through knowing you and knowing your faith and boldness… Amen.”

That’s my prayer for us all to make God the center of every move we make, constantly asking Him what He would have us to do in every moment, even when He asks us to do challenging and complex things. Like your girl having to tackle this car dealership – super tough – but I’m doing it for my kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids. I tell hubby it’s my honor and privilege to continue his legacy with this business he started 30 years ago. Honestly, though, it’s bringing me super close to God! I tell him that I can’t do this without Him! My job is to show up, do my utmost best, and then I leave the rest with Him.

“The pressure is not on me, it’s on God,” I said to George who called me to come into work today, after he told me that He didn’t want me getting overwhelmed by all the pressures. These verses came clearly to mind:

“Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.” – Matthew 29-30

God, I’m in!!! Keeping Your company will be my top priority for 2024! Will you make God your top priority this year? Wake up every day to your appointments with Him. Google “WE ROLL WITH GOD” AND LEARN ALL ABOUT HAVING A CLOSE RELATIONSHIP WITH OUR CREATOR!!!! GOD IS OUR GREATEST FRIEND!!

CERI HAD ME CRYING, Y’ALL!!!!

No SHAME, BUT AFTER HAVING TO LISTEN TO Ceri every morning before going to work, I now must listen to him on my way back home. The pressures on your girl are much!!! But I’m the one who tells God not to go easy on me so that I can learn these difficult life lessons so I can turn around and teach you guys. Honestly, though, sometimes I joke with God to please take me off the tough soldiers list and we just have a good laugh together about it. But back to why Ceri had me crying!

I was at a gas station and I saw the word “EDURANCE” on the fuel pumps and I immediately thought of Ceri (even taking a pic of it!) and what he has been teaching me. Fast forward to the drive home, out of 544 Ceri messages I have saved on YouTube of him speaking, I pressed shuffle and the very first recording from Ceri to play with him talking about having “ENDURANCE.” And that’s where I started crying because they has been an extremely rough year and Ceri explained exactly what God has been doing with me. I felt like it was God Himself having a sit-down conversation with me about this rough year – making me stronger. It was like Ceri personally had a front row seat as to what was happening with me. Once again, Ceri was the vessel for God to lovingly speak to me through, letting me know He was with me. I cried asking God, ‘Who am I that You would go to such great lengths to make me aware of Your Presence?’ And this knowledge of His Presence is what has kept me going through this extremely rough year!!!

Fast forward to today, God had some more to say about this “ENDURANCE” thing in regards to our marriages:

“… but more in the sense of what we mean by “trust.” THIS GOES BEYOND SIMPLY PRESUMING THAT THE OTHER IS NOT LYING OR CHEATING (Wink! Wink!). Such basic trust recognizes GOD’S LIGHT SHINING BEYOND THE DARKNESS… This trust enables a relationship to be free. It means we do not have to control the other person, to follow their every step lest they escape our grip. Love trusts, it sets free, it does not try to control…

…This means that love bears every trial with a positive attitude. It stands firm in hostile surroundings. This “ENDURANCE” involves not only the ability to tolerate certain aggravations (or like I put it, putting up with some things we may not like), but something greater: A CONSTANT READINESS TO CONFRONT ANY CHALLENGE. IT’S A LOVE THAT NEVER GIVES UP, EVEN IN THE DARKEST HOUR. It shows a certain dogged heroism, a power to resist every negative current, AN IRREPRESSIBLE COMMITMENT TO GOODNESS.” – The Joy of Love by Pope Francis

Thank you, Ceri!!! This was important work we did together for God to teach the world this Godly wisdom! Looking to God in every moment and what He would have us to do! AMEN!!!!

I just stole this pray from Ceri’s Facebook wall:

Prayer for Today: Father, thank You that You know all the things I am carrying, and You make provisions of special strength for me all along the way. Thank You that You even send angels (like Ceri!!!) in various forms to minister to my needs. I believe that I have the power to endure whatever I face. In Jesus’ Name, Amen

I WANT TO BE THE TOP G FOR WOMEN, BABY!

I’m loving Andrew Tate too much! His positive male messages of being hardworking, disciplined, anti-drugs and alcohol, and most importantly, being God-fearing men truly have earned my respect. Some of his messages, though, I believe are not that he really means them, but he says them with the sole purpose of them going viral and attracting attention (Andrew, I’m on to you!). But my message to women is the same though, we gotta be hardworking, disciplined, anti-drugs and alcohol, and most importantly about being God-fearing women. Let’s be about playing our roles exceptionally well on behalf of God.

For me, that means I want to be the best wife possible to my husband. Supporting him to the best of my abilities with the help of God. Right now, that means pretty much taking over the leadership role at our family’s business in the US. I told Hubby that I know that he has a lot going on, and it’s my honor and privilege to show up here on his behalf and keep his legacy going for 30 years in business. Super tough guys, but I’m doing it as a fun and lighthearted adventure with God. When I’m weak, I tap into God’s strength! God told me the other day through the Wizkid song Essence that I don’t need no other body because I got Him with me! That’s the sweet side of God I’ve come to know and love when I was reading an old post about that song, and minutes la.ter, the radio station I was listening to at work started playing it! God confirmed it!

Also, that means showing up as the best mom to my kids. I can’t get over how my daughters and I discussed getting an apartment together in New York almost exactly a year ago, and I told them it was too far ahead for me to consider. Can you believe God made that happen for them this week? It was last week Sunday, and hubby and I were praying hard for them to be approved for a particular place. After a highly stressful week about them getting it, this Sunday, hubs and I were under the tree praying and thanking God for making it happen for them. GOD, I THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!! My daughters were about to be homeless in New York City!!! LOL! NOTHING TOO DIFFICULT FOR GOD! At one point, I had to call Julie and calm her down, saying, “IN GOD WE TRUST!” If the apartment was for them, God would make the way for them to get it. He did!

Then, we must be the people He would have us be! I need to work on my book and continue getting these messages about God out to the world! We’re nothing without God! I must step up my game with the blogs and vlogs to get this crucial message out about a God perspective for our lives. It isn’t always pretty, but trust me, GOD’S WAYS ARE ALWAYS BEST!!! He reminded me of these verses today:

“Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.” – Colossians 3:12-14

“PRAY TO GOD FOR STRENGTH”

That’s excellent advice to all of us today from my hubby! “Where do you get all this strength from?” I ask him all the time. His reply is always, “God.” Like last night, after coming home from working hard all day, he still cooked us the best curry. I snuck out of the kitchen to rest for a little bit. That’s when he suggested that I pray to God for strength, but I’m not ashamed of my weakness (I’m not him!) because that keeps me looking to and relying on God. No shame in my game! I love this old post:

“ARE YOU TAKING NOTES?!?” (REPOST)

That was me to my son, Emmie, today, as we spent some time with his dad getting ready to leave for work. I’ll never forget a day at the office when I felt utterly overwhelmed by everything my husband had to take on, and a close family friend said, “Nikki, don’t even try to understand the pressures on a man. We were built to handle this; you were not.”

So, this post today is for everyone doing complex things on God’s and their family’s behalf to remind you that our God is a living God who is with us in every moment, supporting us, helping us, and giving us the strength and courage to keep going. Our support system is the Almighty God, and the joy of the Lord is our strength to take on HARD THINGS. It’s just for us to focus on Him in every moment, tapping into His strength, guidance, wisdom, favor, protection, tact, personality, joy, and help that is incredibly available to us in every moment. But enough from me today, our friend, Ceri, shared this recently:

“From the book of Haggai 2:4-5 that says:

“But now the Lord says: Be strong, Zerubbabel. Be strong, Jeshua son of Jehozadak, the high priest. Be strong, all you people still left in the land. And now get to work, for I am with you, says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies. My Spirit remains among you, just as I promised when you came out of Egypt. So do not be afraid.’”

Today I’m just grateful for the spirit of God. I am grateful for our strength, something that I continuously pray for and I’m grateful for, like this verse says, God’s spirit lives amongst us. It’s so important for us to remember that the God that we serve is a living God…

Our faith is in alignment with our God. Our God lives amongst us. He’s a living God, and it’s just so refreshing to know that He’s here at all times. Even though we can’t see Him, our faith shows and tells us He is here. When it’s time when we need Him, and we call on Him, He shows up. Even though we don’t see him, but we know that he shows up because He shows up inside people, or He shows up through things, or like He still shows up. It’s hard for us to explain, but we know that He is here.

One of the things that stood out to me in this particular verse again was how Haggai was in this particular book in the Bible. They’re speaking about rebuilding the temple. He was speaking to some of the old Jews and just basically telling them to like be strong, keep pushing, we have a job to do.

And God was telling them that like even though it seemed like such a hard task, that He was there with them. God told them in this particular verse, ‘For I am with you. Be strong for I Am With You.’ And that’s something that always replays in my mind, and every day and every moment that I pray, that’s one of the first things that always comes out on my lips is that I pray for strength. I know that God is with me, but I also know that I can’t do it alone, but I need the strength so that I can keep pushing forward. I can keep doing my best. I could keep growing. I could keep being strong for other people who are close to me. A lot of times, my strength isn’t just for me. A lot of times, I pray for my strength; it honestly isn’t for me. It is to hold up the house so the roof doesn’t collapse around everyone else.

I pray for strength over anyone that needs it. And I want to remind anyone who needs to hear it that they close this verse by saying, “Do not be afraid.” Fear is of the devil, and it’s easy for it to encapsulate us and for us to get worried and anxious about things. And you must be reminded that God we serve is a living God, and He’s amongst us and lives with us. He told us not to be afraid. I’m gonna listen to him.”

Let’s keep it pushing! God Himself is with and for us!!! Heehaw!!!

DON’T TELL MY HUSBAND THIS PLEASE!

But I’m loving these Andrew Tate (Top G) messages a little too much! LOL! I’m forever sending them to my sons to listen to because his messages about being the men God Himself would have them be resonate so much with me. I don’t know too much about his past, but I do love his teachings about being wise, disciplined, responsible, hardworking, tough, anti-drugs and alcohol AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, I LOVE THAT HE TEACHES ABOUT HAVING A GOD PERSPECTIVE FOR OUR LIVES. That’s really why I am such a fan! So much to say, I want to be the Top G for women, baby! Saying let’s be the superhero wives, mothers, and people for God! Our citizenship is in heaven, where we live lives pleasing to God.

It truly hurts my heart when I hear statistics about women filing for divorces more than men when that’s our unique role from God Himself to be the glue keeping our families happy and together. I get it, this marriage thing is tricky, but this message from Andrew is for us too as women, to be wise, disciplined, responsible, hardworking, tough, anti-drugs and alcohol but most significantly, HAVING A GOD PERSPECTIVE FOR OUR LIVES, continually asking:

‘God, at every moment, in every relationship, every decision, and every circumstance. How may I enter into it and glorify You? God, anything to please You, let me learn. Amen’

Super, super tough at times, but we do it for God! Not giving up so easily and being HARD when life gets HARD. That we can go through the darkest of nights, but still have that hope that our best days are still out in front of us, by the grace of God. Our families are essential to Him and for the world and societies to be better, it starts in our homes. That means making God the firm foundation of our lives and knowing His voice and direction.

That takes dedicated alone time with God, daily listening, or reading anything spiritual that you feel teaches you Godly values and principles for your life. I’m thanking Ceri for his words of wisdom that I start my day with learning Biblical knowledge and guidance so that when I get out into the world and I have to make decisions, I can do so with a Godly influence. Check them out on our ‘We Roll With God’ YouTube channel! I may not always get it right, but I keep trying to look to God and what He would have me to do.

I also read back old posts sharing wisdom from my brother, Kevin, and other times God has revealed Himself to me and the person He is calling me to be. Let me tell ya, writing the posts is easy, but living them is an entirely different matter! But when I follow God’s guidance for my life, He always leads me on the best paths – not always the easiest, but always the best when I look back on the decisions God would have me make.

Let’s finish 2023 on a note of wanting to be even more committed to God and seeking a closer walk with Him, being the people He would have us to be going the extra mile in love, forgiveness, patience, loyalty, faithfulness, goodness, and gentleness, while also being mentally tough, strong, brave, courageous and NOT GIVING UP, especially in our homes. So help us, God! Amen!!

“YOU DON’T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT ME, MAN!”

That was me to my angel/brother/messenger from God, Kevin, today! “You’ve trained me well!” I continued. Honestly, I didn’t want to run to my God tree this morning, but I said, ‘Nik, get your you know what to that tree!’ I’m so happy I did because God used that opportunity to confirm a conversation with Kevin yesterday. Kevin and I agreed that I would WISELY speak about certain issues, but in some other areas, I would be SILENT. So, because I got to the tree at precisely 8:00, I went to page 8 of our family’s website and look what showed up:

“Learn to be WISE AND SILENT (Wink! Wink!).”

I explained to Kevin yesterday that this silence has been God’s message to me for a while now. NOT EVERYTHING HAS TO BE SAID!!! SOMETIMES WE MUST BE PROFESSIONAL IGNORERS, PRETENDING WE DON’T SEE WHAT WE SEE OR HEAR WHAT WE HEAR! It may make no sense to anyone else, but I know that is what God has been telling me about leaving specific battles in His hands to fight on my behalf. So, the wiser Nik has learned to wisely choose the battles that God Himself would have me fight and to leave the others with Him to work on in the spiritual realm on my behalf. Are you guys getting this crucial message? Time and energy are valuable; we must spend them wisely, doing what God would have us do. KK? I’m going with this prayer:

‘God, at every moment, in every relationship, every decision, and every circumstance. How may I enter into it and glorify You? God, anything to please You, let me learn. Amen’

I was honestly so disappointed when I had to let a staff go recently. He came to see me yesterday about getting his job back, but the first thing I noticed was alcohol on his breath. I used it as an opportunity to explain to my son Emmie the importance of having a strong relationship with God where we are not looking to drugs or alcohol to help us cope when life gets tough. I stress to our kids that we do our best and leave the rest with God. Crucially, we don’t have to handle life alone. Our level of faith in God changes everything about our lives. The best advice Kevin ever gave me was to prioritize God and get closer to Him. This is where God wants us:

“Isn’t your goal union with God at every moment of your duty, and in all your relations with others whom you love for My sake?” – He and I

God is truly our most excellent friend when we get to know Him! Make sure you are having alone times with Him every day like where you are learning his voice and His principles and values for your life. I promise you, God’s guidance is always the best! AND JUST KNOWING YOU HAVE THE CREATOR OF THE UNIVERSE WALKING WITH YOU IN EVERY MOMENT GIVES SUCH PEACE. Even when He asks difficult stuff of us we can trust His guidance. Let our goal be to be in a union with God every moment, wisely pausing and asking for His perspective in every aspect of our lives. Seeking to please Him in all our ways! Amen!

GOD LOVES ME THE MOSTEST!

That’s how He honestly makes me feel with all the intimate and most tender attention I receive from Him. This morning I was running to my God tree, all upset with myself because I had such a terrible day yesterday, still dealing with getting all upset for not receiving my husband’s love, attention and approval (when will I learn, guys?!?) So here how God responded to that in our alone time together. I arrived at the tree at exactly 7:33 and went to page 33 first with God having this to say to His girl:

“TODAY, I RAN SIX MILES IN TWO HOURS UP AND DOWN THE STAIRS OF OUR HOUSE!!! I’m working on a better me, baby! The goal was to get rid of the old Nik and my constant sad and hurtful thoughts, and for a happier and more focused person to emerge (sadly, I’m still working on this years later!). The run was fantastic…I pretty much played one song repeatedly, ‘Let Me Be Love You,’ (William Singe’s version), imagining God singing these lyrics to me:

“You should let Me love you
Let me be the One to
Give you everything you want and need
Ooh baby good love and protection
Make Me your selection
Show you the way love’s supposed to be”

I read that, and it immediately turned my depressing thoughts into such joy and laughter with God. I knew right away that this was His fun and special way of speaking directly to me, sweetly saying, ‘Nik, how many times do you want Me to repeat this to you? LET ME BE THE ONE TO LOVE YOU, My Girl!!! Other humans only have so much love to give. Let me show you the way love’s supposed to be.”This is a message for you too, by the way!) Wink! Wink!

I’m talking precisely where I got it wrong yesterday! Then on page 7, God continued our conversations about my awful day yesterday when this showed up there:

Sometimes I don’t mind you havin’ the worst day…
Let your frustrations out right here
I’m your psychiatrist, let’s talk about it…
I see the weight weighin’ on your shoulders
It’s so heavy
Let me be the meaning of your composure
You can take it out on me…
I’ll be your punching bag, hit me with all of your might
And get it all out ’til you feel light
Yeah, I’m your plug
Whatever you need, I’ll make sure you get enough
And when your battery gets low
I’ma be the one to charge you up
Let me massage your mental and your physical
Whenever you lose doubt, I’ll be your miracle
When you’re around me, you should feel invincible
Please don’t forget that” – Take It Out On Me by Justin Bieber

This is God’s message to you too! There is so much tension, anger, frustration, and anxiety right now going on with everyone. Still, I’m a living witness that God is there through all of it. Let Him be the meaning of our composure, being calm and trusting He is with us through the good, bad, and ugly, trusting His with all our hearts.

I loved some messages from my angel/brother, Kevin, yesterday. He reminded me that we all are crazy sometimes, but, importantly, God is our co-pilot, helping us through difficult and turbulent times. When we are weak, He’s our strength. Honestly, the last two years, I’ve been on this rough emotional roller coaster, but God has stayed STRONG with me. I have no doubt that He is behind the scenes helping me. Even right now, I can’t get over how He protected me from making an awful decision. God, thank You!!!

This is why when the Bible says a person strikes you on one cheek, turn and offer him the other also. God telling me to stay on the high road with Him with my 311 showing up everywhere, loving extravagantly and forgiving endlessly, has been the best advice. When I compare my losses to all the blessings in my life from God (the huge wins), I say no problem, God, anything to please You, let me learn. The things I must suffer and endure, I do it for His glory.

I did a video call with hubby in Nigeria yesterday, showing off our beautiful life that he works so hard to make happen for us. With him, too, I can count all the losses against all the good that he brings to our lives. Ain’t nobody perfect! A pastor friend prayed for us yesterday that we can overcome any trouble that comes our way, by the grace of God. Amen.

Thank you, Justin Bieber, for my love songs from God.

GOD CONTINUES TO FREAK ME OUT WITH GLIMMERS OF HIS PRESENCE

This one started last night discussing with my daughter, Julie, how I felt that Ember’s friend, Mo, was so good for her because I saw Ember blossom into this beautiful person hanging around him. Julie felt Mo criticized her sister too much, but I told her we need our critics. I told her all about how my brother, Jason, encourages me and gives me confidence, and her dad, on the other hand, criticizes me and how I need both of them. Fast forward to me getting to my God tree this morning, I promise you, my Nook electronic book reader opened up on its own to this specific post from my book of 366 daily devotionals:

“I have someone helping me get there quicker—my wonderful hubby and boss, who is assisting me tremendously in becoming the best version of myself. Whatever he has on his mind, he’s quick to let me know, and not always in the nicest way. I’ve found, though, that after days of being upset and being honest with myself, he’s right in most cases. It turns out this has been a good thing because he’s helped me to grow in many areas. Now, when he says something, forgetting excuses, I look to see what I can take from what he’s saying to improve, humble myself, and apologize when appropriate. If there’s nothing, that’s where the professional ignorer comes in, and I focus on his other characteristics that I love and adore, freely telling him, respectfully, of course, that I disagree with him. “Many times it is very useful, for keeping you in greater humility, that others know and reprimand your faults.” The Imitation of Christ These are the people that help us grow and become our best selves.”

My exact conversation with Julie! The way this freakishly opened by it’s self was all God’s way of letting me know how intimately He is involved with every intimate detail of my life. I feel like I’m in a new realm of closeness with God, baby!

But what Mo has done for me has been nothing short of a miracle! I’ll never forget my first conversation with him, which I wrote about in this old post:

“I shared how Mo blew my mind when I asked him how God fits into the positive mindset he preaches to my daughter. He said that HIS FAITH IN GOD WAS WHAT GAVE HIM THE REASON TO BE SO POSITIVE. He knew that because God was the ultimate Controller of His life, everything would work out well for Him. He knew God was behind the scenes working on His behalf and that He didn’t have to handle life alone. He just has to show up, do His best and leave the rest with God. Mo, chop knuckles, my man!

Mo just sent me this message a short while ago:

“That’s one thing that I say to Ember, that you are always joyful and strong. I’m glad I’ve impacted your life in a positive way. Thank you for reminding me to keep God first because everyone needs a reminder. I will continue to make Ember happy and make her a better version of herself every day!”

Thanks, Mo! Your influence on us all!!! I pray for God’s continued guidance on your life!
