Two words.
That’s all my girl K said to me last year when I was in a bad moment. I don’t even think she knew how deep it was.
It was the best two words I heard all year.
So now I’m passing it to you: PRAY ALL DAY.
I’m such a believer in prayer now, I’ve even started a 5AM Prayer Club. It’s inviting the entire world here with me where we start our days in prayer, to meet with God out of reverence, before the world starts talking. Before emails. Before kids. Before problems.
I want to start my day with the Creator of the whole universe by my side.
And y’all, God wants it too. He PROVED it to me this morning.
My son Emmy took my phone last night. So I reached over to touch my husband’s phone to check the time.
It was EXACTLY 5:00. Not 5:01. Not 5:02. 5:00.
I laughed out loud. God was like, “YES NIK, I want this 5AM Club. I want my people starting their day with Me.”
Nothing better than starting your day with God.
I have my YouTube prayer that I’m loving at Faithful Gospel@FaithfulGospel-i2c that I listen to while exercising/ From there I sit by our prayer altar and read our family’s website, werollwithgod.com, and other meditation books asking, “God, what do You have to say to me today?” And He always reveals some glimmer of His Presence there with me, which gives me the joy, courage and strength to face my day KNOWING God’s Presence is with me.
When you start with God, you take Him into the day with you.
Every decision becomes: God, what do we do? What do we NOT do? What do we say? What do we NOT say? Where do we go? Where do we NOT go?
God, may Your will be done, not ours.
I’m talking constant conversations with God Himself about everything — our residence is the supernatural realm.
I love Psalm 32:8 — The Lord will guide you and direct you on the path for the best path for your life.
But you have to KNOW His voice. How do you know if it’s God or if it’s the devil trying to get you off track? You only know by practice. Pray all day and practice. Practice. Practice.
You pause before you do anything. You tap in. You ask. Is this God?
Discernment (knowing God’s voice and direction!) is our SUPERPOWER. It’s a direct hotline to God, 24/7. No hold music. No voicemail.
And listen — it doesn’t have to be 5AM for you. That’s just my time. It can be 6AM. It can be 7AM. Whatever time you and God arrange. Just make the appointment and keep it.
Start WITH God, then go tackle the world WITH God.
So this is my invitation for you today. Join the 5AM Club. Or the 6AM Club. Just join the PRAY ALL DAY Club.
5 VERSES THAT CAPTURE TODAY
1. Psalm 32:8 — “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.”
This IS the bloggy. God doesn’t just give directions, He counsels you with His eye on you all day.
2. 1 Thessalonians 5:17 — “Pray continually.”
This is your “PRAY ALL DAY” in two words. Not just morning prayer, but all-day hotline. No voicemail.
3. James 1:5 — “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.”
This is your “God, what do we do? What do we NOT do?” verse. For the man who has to make hard decisions and the woman who carries everyone, God says just ASK.
4. Jeremiah 29:13 — “You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”
This is your 5:00 story. Emmy took the phone, but God still let you find Him at exactly 5AM. When we want Him, even clumsily, He shows up.
5. Psalm 34:18 — “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”
This is for anyone reading who has lost everything. We may lose everything and everyone, but we never lose God because He moves CLOSER when we break.
OUR PRAYER FOR TODAY
Father,
We come to You first. Before the phone, before the problems, before the people. We choose You first today.
Thank You that You never sleep. Thank You that while we were sleeping, You were already scheduling our day. You saw Emmy with my phone and You said, “Perfect, look at your husband’s phone, it’s 5:00. I’m right here. I want this club.”
Lord, forgive us for living from the chaos down here. Today we take our residence back up there — in the supernatural realm where we really live with You. Where Your presence is with us.
We ask for WISDOM, James 1:5 style. Generous wisdom. For every man under the sound of my voice who is carrying a heavy decision today — Father, tell him what to do and what NOT to do. For every woman who is holding her family together — tell her what to say and what NOT to say. Give us a word, a glimmer, a knowing.
Father, we ask for DISCERNMENT. Let it be our superpower. Give us a direct hotline, 24/7, no voicemail. Teach us to PAUSE before we post, before we move, before we answer. We ask right now: Is this You, God? Or is this the enemy trying to pull us off track? Make Your voice louder than every other voice.
And Father, for my sister who is brokenhearted today. For the one who just lost everything. For the one who sat in an empty room and thought it was rejection. We declare Psalm 34:18 over them — You are CLOSE to the brokenhearted. Closer now than ever. We may lose everything and everyone, but we will NEVER lose You.
We declare Psalm 32:8 — You will instruct us, You will teach us, You will counsel us with Your loving eye on us. You are guiding us on the BEST path, even when we can’t see it.
So today, we make a new vow: We will PRAY ALL DAY.
At 5AM. At 6AM. At midnight when we can’t sleep. Pray without ceasing. Pray in the car. Pray over our kids. Pray over our marriages. Pray over our businesses.
We will have own oil. We will not borrow. We will burn.
And we declare — we roll with God even when the room is empty. We roll with God even when our heart is broken and our eyes are filled with tears. We roll with God no matter what.
In Jesus’ mighty, matchless name,
Amen and Amen.
