3 STEPS TO ROLL WITH GOD IN WAR
STEP ONE: MO TAUGHT ME WHY I CAN SMILE IN WAR
From my very first conversation with Mo years ago, I knew God had marked him.
I asked him: “Where does God fit into your positive mindset?”
He said:
“My faith in God is the reason why I can be positive. I trust that God is the controller of everything. Even if something bad happens, I know God has a reason and purpose for it.”
That sentence tattooed my soul.
Now when life hits, I tell myself:
“Nik, remember what Mo taught you, your faith in God is the reason why you can be positive!”
That’s the mindset we ALL need. Phil 4:13: I CAN DO ALL THINGS IN HIM WHO STRENGTHENS ME
I called Mo yesterday to say THANK YOU. Because I started my version of Umrah again — the sacred Muslim practice Mo taught me earlier this year.
What is Umrah? A time of seeking deeper closeness with God.
My version? 21 days of pressing in.
Mo asked the crucial question: “Why did you start the Umrah again?”
My answer:
“Right now I’m in serious warfare. DON’T GET IT TWISTED, THIS LIFE IS A WAR.
What’s the best war strategy? More of God. Nothing more powerful than God. Period.
I don’t need more food and comfort. I need more of God to fight this battle.”_
I bragged to Mo what this Umrah is doing for me:
“In the middle of WARFARE I’m smiling with joy and I’m at peace because I KNOW that God was in the war with me.”
GOD WHISPER #77 — THE UMRAH CLARITY:
“Daughter, you call it Umrah. I call it ‘Come away with Me.’
Mo taught you to fast from food. I’m teaching you to feast on Me.
Kevin said ‘Make God top priority.’ You’re doing it.
Ceri said ‘Keep forgiving.’ You’re doing it.
Mo said ‘Faith = Positive Mindset.’ You’re LIVING it.
This isn’t religion. This is war room intimacy. Especially then.”
I’m feeling so close to God it’s unbelievable.
Example: I had an argument. Someone said: “Nowhere in the Bible says God won’t give you more than you can bear.”
I gave them 1 Corinthians 10:13.
Next day? I open my Yes Father meditation book to where I left off.
Same verse. Word for word:
_“God is faithful. Who will not suffer you to be tempted above that which you are able, but will make also with temptation issue, that you may be able to bear it” (1 Cor 10:13). _
That ain’t coincidence. That’s God saying “I SEE YOU. I HEARD YOU.”
That’s why I have JOY and PEACE in mid war!
The Joy of the Lord is my strength because I KNOW I CAN DO ALL THINGS WITH GOD!
When I’m at 1%, I’ve seen God deliver the 99%.
I don’t just quote it. I’ve LIVED it.
All the times I saw no way, God whispered: “WATCH TO SEE WHAT I DO.”
He shows up. He shows off.
That’s why I say wholeheartedly with Mo:
MY FAITH IN GOD IS WHY I CAN BE POSITIVE.
But God asks us to do hard stuff.
I feel like Jesus in Gethsemane sometimes: “Father, take this suffering from me.” Matt 26:39
But the last page of that Yes Father chapter said:
“Help me that together with Thee may say: Yes, Father, ‘not my will, but Thine be done’” Luke 22:42
God keeps reminding me: “Others may be unfair to you. But My ways with you are more than fair, they really are!”
So I joyfully say: “Yes Father, not my will, but Thine be done” as I go through war with joy and peace knowing God Himself has my back.
THAT’S FAITH.
STEP TWO: YOUR 21-DAY UMRAH — MORE OF GOD, LESS OF EVERYTHING ELSE
Subtitle: How to roll with God in your own war — for brothers + sisters
Family, let’s get practical. Mo gave me the wisdom. God gave me the war. Now I’m giving YOU the strategy.
This life IS a war. Don’t get it twisted.
So what’s the best war strategy? More of God. Period.
When I’m in warfare, I don’t need more snacks and Netflix. I need more of His Presence.
1. THE MINDSET: STEAL THIS FROM MO
“My faith in God is the reason why I can be positive. I trust that God is the controller of everything. Even if something bad happens, I know God has a reason and purpose for it.”
So when life hits, talk to yourself:
“Hey self, remember what Mo taught us, your faith in God is the reason why you can be positive!”
For the men: This ain’t soft. This is war room confidence.
For the women: This ain’t fake smiles. This is Holy Spirit strength.
GOD WHISPER #79 — THE POSITIVE WARRIOR:
“Son, daughter, positivity isn’t pretending.
It’s trusting.
When you know I control everything, you stop panicking about anything.
Bad thing happens? I’ve got purpose in it.
That’s why you can smile in warfare. I’m in the war with you.
Faith is your weapon. Use it. Especially then.”
2. THE 21-DAY UMRAH RHYTHM: KEEP IT SIMPLE
You don’t need Mecca. You need a meeting place. Here’s what I’m doing. Copy what fits. Adjust what doesn’t.
One: Fast from sunrise to dinner.
Around 8am to 7 or 8pm for me.
Why? Hunger for God gets louder than hunger for food.
Brothers: Discipline your body so your spirit leads.
Sisters: This isn’t about weight. This is about wait, waiting on God.
Two: Cut the junk.
No sweets or fried foods for me.
Why? Clear body helps clear spirit.
Pick your “junk”, social media, gossip, complaining, drugs, alcohol, whatever numbs you.
Three: Pray before the sun.
I wake up earlier to start prayer and communion with God.
Why? Jesus did it. Muslims do it. Winners do it.
Give God the first of your day, not the leftovers.
Four: Talk to God like He’s there.
Because He is.
Appointments. Journaling. Walking. Crying. Laughing.
Nothing better than having more of God in your life.
GOD WHISPER #80 — THE 1% PROMISE:
“Child, I don’t let you break. I let you bend toward Me.
When you’re at 1%, that’s when My 99% looks biggest.
You’ll never be tempted beyond what you can bear because I AM with you in it.
Keep your Umrah. Keep your appointment. I keep My promises.
Watch Me work. Especially then.”
3. THE WAR PLAN: LOVE GOD + LOVE PEOPLE
Next to “more of God,” this is the strategy:
LOVE GOD AND LOVE PEOPLE, THAT’S THE BOTTOM LINE.
Vertical first, GOD.
Then horizontal, PEOPLE.
If your love ain’t rooted in God, it’s just manipulation.
FAITH. HOPE. LOVE. But the greatest of these is LOVE.
Love Me. Love them. THAT’S THE WHOLE WAR PLAN.
And listen: We can’t change anyone!
People have to want to change on their own.
But in the meantime, WE MUST MAKE ALLOWANCES FOR THE WEAKNESSES OF OTHERS, GRANTING MERCY AND PATIENCE AS GOD DOES FOR US BECAUSE NONE OF US ARE PERFECT.
LETTING GO AND LETTING GOD. Amen!

For the brothers: Pick ONE discipline from the Umrah rhythm. Start tomorrow. No excuses.
For the sisters: Pick ONE person to “make allowance” for this week. Extend mercy like God gave you.
For all of us: Say “Yes, Father” to one hard thing today. Then watch what He does.

STEP THREE: THE 5 WAR ROOM VERSES + CLOSING PRAYER
5 VERSES THAT ARE THIS BLOG — WHY THEY MATTER IN WAR:
1. Philippians 4:13 — _“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
Why: This is Mo’s mindset. This is your 1% becoming God’s 99%. Faith in God = the reason you stay positive when life hits. Clock it._
2. 1 Corinthians 10:13 — _“God is faithful. He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, He will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.”
Why: You didn’t just quote it, you LIVED it. Same verse showed up twice in 24 hours. God doesn’t break you, He builds you in the fire. Especially then._
3. Luke 22:42 — _“Father, if You are willing, take this cup from Me; yet not My will, but Yours be done.”
Why: This is Gethsemane obedience. Umrah is saying “Yes, Father” when it’s hard. War strategy #1 = surrender to the Commander. He’s more than fair._
4. Deuteronomy 20:4 — _“For the Lord your God is the One who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies to give you victory.”
Why: This is why you’re smiling in warfare. Ceri reminded you: God was in the war with me._ You’re not fighting FOR victory. You’re fighting FROM it.
5. Matthew 22:37-39 — _“Love the Lord your God with all your heart… Love your neighbor as yourself.”
Why: This is the whole war plan. Vertical first, GOD. Then horizontal, PEOPLE. If love ain’t rooted in God, it’s just manipulation. Make allowances. Grant mercy. Let go + let God._
CLOSING PRAYER — FOR THE Z ARMY:
Father, we come bold in Your name.
Thank You for Mo’s wisdom. Thank You for Umrah rhythms. Thank You for 1% moments.
We say YES to more of You, not more comfort. YES to Your will, not our own.
In the middle of warfare, give us joy that doesn’t make sense and peace that can’t be stolen.
Remind us when we’re at 1% that You bring the 99%. Whisper “WATCH TO SEE WHAT I DO.”
Teach us to fast from the world and feast on You. To pray before sunrise and love before sunset.
Make our faith the reason we’re positive. Make our love rooted in You.
For the brothers: Make us disciplined warriors. For the sisters: Make us joyful warriors.
For all of us: Make us obedient kids who say “Yes, Father” and mean it.
We lay down our “why me” and pick up Your “watch Me.”
We roll with strength, kindness, peace, joy, love, mercy, favor, and compassion.
Because this life IS a war. And YOU are our strategy.
We love You. We trust You. We’re all in.
