He Spoke Through A Goat

Heehaw! God can literally use anything and everything to speak to us!

This morning I heard my neighbor’s goat bleating. Instantly, I thought of the goats Ceri talked about in a recording he did years ago.

After I finished my YouTube prayer, I asked God, “What page of our website should I go to?” The nudge was clear: Page 5.

Can you believe it? Out of 167 webpages, God took me straight there. The very Ceri message I was thinking about was waiting.

It was like God said, “Nik, is this the Ceri message you just thought about?”

So enough from me today. Let me share that blog with you. It gave me strength, joy, and peace, KNOWING that the Sovereign Lord is with us, for us, and always by our side.

Ceri’s Message:

God’s favorite girl, baby! That’s how He makes me feel!

Last night I was in my car listening to my Ceri messages. I truly believe God has him record them for me. The first one that played had me crying the happiest tears. It felt like God was speaking directly to me.

Ceri said:
“Habakkuk 3:17-19 says: ‘Even though the fig trees have no blossoms, and there are no grapes on the vines; even though the olive crop fails, and the fields lie empty and barren; even though the flocks die in the fields, and the cattle barns are empty, yet I will rejoice in the LORD! I will be joyful in the God of my salvation! The Sovereign LORD is my strength! He makes me as surefooted as a deer, able to tread upon the heights.’”

I’m grateful for the gift of every morning. To be here, alive, living as righteous kingdom citizens. That last line stayed with me: “The Sovereign Lord is my strength! He makes me as surefooted as a deer, able to tread upon the heights.”

Growing up in Cat Island, you see it with your own eyes. On the boat, passing a tough cliff, you look up. Hundreds of goats stand on rocks so tiny their forefoot looks like a clenched fist. They don’t slip. They don’t fall. They climb with total confidence.

That’s surefooted. That’s trusting God will provide. That’s knowing He will fulfill His promises.

Even when nothing looks right, faith says: You may wake up with no money, no food. But before the day ends, you will eat. Before the day ends, what God promised will come to pass.

You can’t miss it. It was written before you were born. From the moment you were put on this planet, you were part of God’s plan.

Sometimes the misery you carry is a lesson that saves someone else’s life. Sometimes swallowing your pride to ask for help shows someone else they can be used by God. The small hard things give you strength for one more day.

You might say, “I don’t know how I can make it.” But God knows how.

“The righteous shall live by their faith.” Through any adversity, famine, or empty field, you will rejoice in the Lord.

“I will be joyful in the God of my salvation.” Be happy you’re here to go through it at all. Dead people don’t go through anything.

God is good, y’all, and I’m so happy to be here. Let the righteous continue to live by their faith.

WOW! I can’t get over my brother, Kevin!

Not having my regular routine of running to my God Tree every day in the US was really getting the best of me. I was seriously depressed. I didn’t even want to get out of bed.

That was until Kevin called and gave me that reminder. What really freaked me out was that the phone line wasn’t even clear, but he managed to get those words to me:

“Nik, how could you, the God maniac, forget you need that ‘God Tree’ place where you meet God every day?”

See the love of God, guys? He had Kevin call me with that important reminder to get my God morning routine back on. I immediately rose back up! Heehaw!!!

Fast forward almost three months later, God continues to meet me at the prayer altar.

This morning, I felt led to go to page 2 and look at all the God winks that showed up on just this one page:

Wisdom for Emmie

Before asking God what page to read, I sat for the longest just staring at my son Emmie’s photo. I was almost crying, just feeling so blessed to have this great son who I promised I would continue to make wise decisions for our family/team.

What showed up immediately on page 2:

“Let me tell ya, no greater wisdom than wisdom from God. He teaches us through everyday struggles, like a big fight with my husband last night. I have a picture of my son, Emmie, by the prayer altar, reminding me to be the mom he needs on the high road with God. EVEN WHEN OTHERS ARE UNFAIR WITH ME, I REMIND MYSELF THAT GOD’S WAYS ARE MORE THAN FAIR, and that I want to do my utmost best to please Him.”

God’s way of saying, ‘Nik, I’m right here with you, my sweetie!’

Forgiveness

The entire time I was listening to my prayer, I was venting to God. I kept hitting my head: ‘Nik, you gotta forgive. Nik, you gotta forgive. Nik, you gotta forgive.’

What showed up again on page 2:

“Nik, have mercy, please! The same mercy God shows us every day, He asks us to share it with others.”

“As Ceri says, this FORGIVENESS IS FOR US (Wink! Wink!). So we can have a clean slate with God. God, I did the right thing! And it gives us peace!”

The Song Confirmation

Then there was the song I was playing yesterday and taking pics of on my phone. That very song showed up:

“One morning, before chatting with a customer, I turned on the radio for some background music. Minutes later, as he was saying to me, “One monkey don’t stop no show!” unbelievably, the radio station was playing a song with the exact lyrics, “One monkey don’t stop no show!”” I jumped up with such enthusiasm and joy, knowing it was God revealing His invisible Presence there with us. Once again, out of the blue, everything lined up too perfectly!

And again today, I jumped up from that prayer altar with renewed strength, joy, faith, and courage, KNOWING God Himself is my Constant Companion.

THE JOY OF THE LORD IS MY STRENGTH, BABY!!!

He has asked me to bring you to Him with JOY! So, just like Kevin reminded me: make sure you have a place to meet God every morning.

Yesterday I told my daughter Ember, “Don’t worry, boo. Better days are coming.”

Walked into the office and God DJ’d the playlist.
Kendrick comes on: “BETTER DAYS COMIN’ FOR SURE, MY NIK!”

HEEHAW!!! That’s what I call an update from God.

Ceri puts it like this:
Throughout the day we get little updates. Small nudges on what to do. It’s about noticing the small things.

You might see a dog and a cat being friends. That could be God telling you to befriend someone you wouldn’t normally align with.
You might notice how water moves.

Because God is all-present, His instructions don’t always come the same way. They’re often subtle.
We just have to be observant, obedient, and keep our hearts open through His word, community, and the church.

Yesterday my update was simple: sit back down at the prayer altar. Stay longer with Him.

And right after, this word from Ceri showed up:

Why we need more compassion

1 Corinthians 9:22: “When I am with those who are weak, I share their weakness, for I want to bring the weak to Christ. Yes, I try to find common ground with everyone, doing everything I can to save some.”

One word jumped out at me: compassion.

As Christians, our faith gives us strength a lot of people don’t have. The danger is we expect everyone to handle things the way we do.

But strength isn’t normal. Without faith, people are carrying things alone. They don’t see the light at the end of the tunnel. They sink deeper because there’s no voice inside saying, “Hey, I’ve got you.”

Paul reminds us: if you want to bring someone to Christ, you have to meet them in their weakness.
You can’t just say “suck it up.” Sometimes you have to hurt with them. Sit in it.

Be compassionate and say, “Hey, it’s gonna be alright.”
When they ask “How do you know?”
Tell them, “Because my faith tells me. God brought me through, and He’ll bring you through too. If He brings you to it, He’ll take you through it.”

Better days are coming. Not because it’s easy, but because He’s with us.

GOD, JUST FREAKED ME OUT WITH THIS!!! (REPOST)

So a few days ago, I shared this in a blog:

“God knows every thought I think! This morning, while listening to my prayer on YouTube, it said that God always answers our prayers. I thought to myself, ‘Nope! That’s not true!’ And I thought of how many times God politely told me a big no to my prayers and instead would politely say to me, ‘My grace is sufficient, My Nik!’”

Fast forward to today, my sweetie sister, Kelly, sends me a message about how she opened up a random book she just so happened to walk by, and this incredibly showed up:

“The Problem: When God Says No

There are times when the one thing you want is the one thing you never get. You’re not being picky or demanding; you’re only obeying his command to “ask God for everything you need” (Phil. 4:6). All you want is an open door or an extra day or an answered prayer for which you will be thankful.

And so you pray and wait.
No answer.
You pray and wait,
No answer,
You pray and wait.

May I ask a very important question? What if God says no? What if the request is delayed or even denied? When God says no to you, how will you respond? If God says, “I’ve given you my grace, and that is enough (Wink! Wink!),” will you be content?”

Wow! Wow! Wow! How could my sister in the Bahamas randomly open a book and say I will read whatever shows up on page 130, and it’s in complete alignment with what I shared this week from Nigeria about how God speaks to me? God is pretty talkative, and His Spirit is with us all! It’s just for us to be attentive to His voice, recognize His responses-including ‘no’-and most importantly, KNOW that His grace and Presence are sufficient for us to navigate our lives.

That’s the greatest news we have about rolling with God on the daily: God Himself is our constant companion. We handle nothing alone! We have God’s help, support, kindness, love, protection, wisdom, tact, personality, charm, favor, angels, and wonderful grace available to us on a moment-by-moment basis, which should fill you with a sense of security and deep closeness.

That’s why I am committed to my God-morning routine, baby! I love the prayer on YouTube from Daily Prayer with God, while running up and down the stairs of our home for 45 minutes. Then I sit by our prayer altar for some quiet time, reading from our family’s website, werollwithgod.com, and some of my favorite meditation books. NOTHING BETTER THAN STARTING YOUR DAY IN ALIGNMENT WITH GOD!! This routine helps me feel grounded in faith and connected with God, and I pray it encourages you to find your own daily God morning routine. Let’s go!

BE GREAT EVERY DAY…WE ROLL WITH GOD

That’s my question for God today! The way He surprises me is truly blowing my mind. Like yesterday, I’m staring at the photo that came up in my photo memory. My spirit drew my attention to the bracelet I was wearing that said “Child of the King.” I thought back to when a random customer took it off their wrist and gave it to me. Fast forward to that evening, I’m having an appointment with God, reading my Jesus Calling Devotional for Kids, and insanely, the very chapter showed up entitled “Child of the King.” I freaked out, guys! The bracelet was white, with red for the words. The very book had a white background with very red words. No coincidence! God Himself was revealing His Presence there with me.

So fast forward to this morning, I’m doing my run up and down the stairs of our home listening to my prayer, and of all of the things for the prayer announcer to say, he said, “YOU ARE A CHILD OF THE KING!!!!!” Wow! You guys see the love of God! Like He was saying, ‘Nik, I saw you looking at that bracelet yesterday!’ God knows every thought we think!!!!

The back story of today’s prayer, though! I usually go with the first prayer that shows up on my YouTube feed, but in charging my phone, the cord slid across the screen, and another prayer started. I paused and said, “God, which of these prayers should I listen to?’ The feeling was that I should stick with the new prayer, only for me to hear him confirm that message from God: Yes, Nik, YOU ARE MY CHILD!!!!

The prayer spoke so clearly to me today about personal issues I’m currently dealing with that God just said, ‘Nik, let’s discuss these issues that I feel are holding you back.’ Honestly, I beat myself a lot about the past. But God spoke this to me through that prayer (OUR GOD IS A PERSONAL GOD!!!!) via FaithfulGospel-i2c⁩:

“And now, Aba, I BLESS THE BROKEN PLACES INSIDE OF ME. NOT TO SHAME THEM, BUT TO SURRENDER THEM. Not to pretend they don’t exist, but to invite you to dwell there. I will no longer curse my scars. I will no longer hide my wounds because your glory is not revealed through my perfection. It shines through my surrendered imperfection. I declare that nothing about me is wasted. No pain is random. No tear is ignored. No detour is meaningless. You are the redeemer. Not just of my soul, but of my story. SO I SPEAK HEALING OVER EVERY TRAUMA THAT TRIED TO BREAK ME. I SPEAK RESTORATION OVER EVERY RELATIONSHIP THAT UNRAVELED. I SPEAK PEACE OVER EVERY PLACE IN MY HEART WHERE CONFUSION AND CHAOS TRIED TO SET UP CAMP. I bless even the silent seasons where I didn’t hear you but learned to trust you. where prayers felt unanswered but were working behind the scenes. Where loneliness was the soil of deeper intimacy. I WILL NOT LOOK BACK WITH BITTERNESS. I WILL LOOK BACK WITH REVELATION. WHAT THE ENEMY MEANT FOR EVIL, YOU ARE TURNING FOR GOOD. I BLESS THE FIRE THAT TRIED TO CONSUME ME BECAUSE IT REFINED ME. I BLESS THE STORM THAT TRIED TO DROWN ME BECAUSE IT DEEPENED ME. I BLESS THE BETRAYAL THAT TRIED TO BREAK ME BECAUSE IT TAUGHT ME WHO WAS FOR ME AND WHO WAS ONLY SEASONAL.

Now, Lord, I bless my identity. Not the one others gave me. Not the one pain tried to tattoo on me, but the one you wrote before the foundations of the world. I am not what happened to me. I am not what they said about me. I am not what fear suggests I am. I am not a sum total of my past. I am a child of the king, destined for dominion, anointed to shift atmospheres, appointed to carry your glory. I speak blessings over my mouth. Let it not be used for gossip or comparison. Let it not agree with lies or partner with defeat. Let it only declare what you have spoken. And let every idle word be cast aside. I choose to speak blessings, not curses, faith, not fear, hope, not despair. Today, my mouth is an altar, and every word I speak is an offering of trust. I bless my ears today. I will not lend them to garbage. I will not allow negativity, fear, or deception to settle in. Let me be deaf to the voice of the enemy and sensitive to the still small voice of your spirit. Let me hear you in the noise. Let me hear you in the quiet. Let me hear you even in the moments I’d rather give up. I bless my environment, Lord. Change it if you must. Clean it out if you have to. Expose what’s toxic. Remove what’s draining. Promote what’s divine. Let every place my feet tread today be claimed for the kingdom.
