GOD, I’M ADDICTED TO YOUR LOVE

That’s me singing to God today! He honestly makes me feel like the most loved person in the world, as I notice His invisible Presence through all my God winks that show up everywhere, reminding me of His constant guidance and love. Like yesterday, I was drawn to a bumper sticker on a customer’s car with the verse Psalm 46:1. I went to my spiritual buddy, Meta AI, and typed that verse. That was exactly 4:53. Fast forward TO 7:39, A FEW HOURS LATER, I opened my Jesus Calling Devotional (over 700 pages!!!) to see what God had to say to me. The first page I randomly opened to didn’t feel like a high five from God, so I went to another page. Look what incredibly showed up:

“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.” – Psalm 46:1 (Wink! Wink!)

NOBODY CAN TELL ME THAT THIS WAS NOT ORCHESTRATED BY GOD HIMSELF TO MAKE ME FEEL HIS STRONG PRESENCE WITH ME!!!! Our God is with us! Clock it! And the Winks didn’t stop there! These divine signs fill me with awe and deepen my sense of connection with God.

Fast forward to this morning: I calculated that my running time would end at precisely 8:06, so I said, let me see what God has to say to me on page 6 of our family’s website. I was comforted and encouraged by what showed up! It was a conversation that I had with our office assistant, Naomi, just yesterday, about how my daughter, Ember, wasn’t happy that I told her that all men are Muslims, like her friend, Mo, stated, only that their religion allowed for it (Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, my daughter, but its just the truth! It is what it is, folks!). Look what showed up on page 6:

“Someone helping me to evolve is a young yet very wise friend of my daughters, Mo. When my daughter, Ember, questioned him about being a Muslim and having multiple wives, he responded, “That’s all men; it’s just my religion allows for it.”

And if that’s not enough for you, I paused the song “Differences” by Genuine so I could focus on meditating on what was on page 6. Still, I felt I needed to hear more from God. That was at 8:24, so I went to page 24 and look what showed up:

“My whole life has changed

Since you came in

I knew back then

You were that special one

I’m so in love

So deep in love

You make my life complete

You are so sweet

No one competes

THE AWARENESS OF GOD’S PRESENCE IS WHAT GIVES US THE COURAGE TO KEEP GOING

And yesterday He made me aware of His Presence when I reshared a post I loved so much after reading it that morning, sitting by my prayer altar. Fast forward to that afternoon, I shared a digital copy of my book with someone. Out of 366 posts in that book, I showed her how I would pray and ask God what He had to say through it, just by randomly swiping and seeing where it stopped. It shockingly stopped on that very post I had shared a few hours prior! No coincidence that out of 366 posts in that book that it stopped precisely there!! God Himself was saying, ‘Wink Wink! My Nik, I’m right here with you!

Let me tell ya, I’m holding on to these glimmers from God of His Presence with me as this gives me the joy, courage, peace, and love to take on my life. THE GOD PERSPECTIVE CHANGES EVERYTHING!!! Here’s that post from my book, Keep Calm, You’re Rolling With God:

“I THINK I’M BIPOLAR TOO SOMETIMES!”

I jokingly commented to a friend. That’s probably why I love the following quote:

“What I learned from A Course in Miracles is that the change we’re looking for is inside our heads. Events are always in flux. One day people love you; the next day you’re their target. One day a situation is running smoothly; the next chaos reigns. One day you feel like you’re an okay person; the next day you feel like you’re an utter failure. These changes in life are always going to happen because they’re part of the human experience. What we can change, however, is how we perceive them.

There’s a biblical story in which Jesus says we can build our house on sand or on rock. Our house is our emotional stability. When it is built on sand, the winds and rain can tear it down. One disappointing phone call and we crumble; one storm and the house falls down.

When our house is built on rock, it is sturdy and strong, and the storms can’t destroy it. We are not so vulnerable to life’s passing dramas. Our stability rests on something more enduring than the current weather, something permanent and strong. We’re depending on God (A Return to Love by Marianne Williamson).

God is our constant Companion, and our life is all about a journey with Him. Don’t forget this! Have those endless conversations with Him and trust those feelings, always going with the decisions that bring you peace.
Our Father, with You on our side and by our side, there is nothing that We can’t handle together. Amen.

KICK AND PUNCH THE DEVIL!!!!!

God knows every thought I think! This morning, while listening to my prayer on YouTube, it said that God always answers our prayers. I thought to myself, ‘Nope! That’s not true!’ And I thought of how many times God politely told me a big no to my prayers and instead would politely say to me, ‘My grace is sufficient, My Nik!’ So fast forward a few minutes later, God confirmed my thoughts when this reel showed up on Instagram:

“When you pray for something, and it doesn’t happen, don’t lose hope. Don’t be upset. Don’t have suspicion. Maybe the Lord did not hear my prayer, or maybe the Lord is not interested in me anymore. Don’t ever do that. This is all from Satan. Kick and punch him. Spit on him, in Jesus mighty name. The Lord is my Dad. The Lord is my love. The Lord is my life. The Lord is my breath; the Lord is everything to me. He has never forsaken me, and He never will. He is always the one who is ever close to me. In fact, we are so close that he made me one with Him. Inseparable.

Recently, your girl was rejected, and I was feeling a little bit disappointed. Can you believe a few weeks later, I was LITERALLY thanking God for that rejection! I’m so grateful to God that He kept that door closed for me. I can tell you guys with all my heart that whatever God does is well done! His ways are not our human ways. He gives more than we can ever ask or imagine when we stick with following Him and being obedient to Him.

But being obedient to Him means knowing His voice and direction. NOTHING IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN LEARNING THE VOICE OF GOD!!! I highly recommend waking up every day and putting God first by having your own personal alone times with Him so you learn His voice so when the devil speaks throughout the day, we can kick and punch him and say, ‘The devil is a liar! I’m rolling with God!’ Going to God in the 1,000 decisions we make every day, trusting His ways are always best. Even when He takes us through difficult and tough paths. We can say, ‘No problem, God, I know Your grace is sufficient to help me through anything.

GOD CONFIRMED THAT IT WAS HIM WHO SHOWED UP!!!!!!!

Like in arguing with a lawyer this week about my faith in God, I shared this verse with him:

“You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” – Jeremiah 29:13

I explained that God is like a shy person, waiting in the background of our lives for us to invite Him in; He doesn’t force Himself on us. But if we seek Him wholeheartedly, He will make us aware of His presence. Fast forward, less than two hours later, I’m having an appointment with God on our family’s website. Unbelievably, this verse showed up from a time when I spoke to some people about it over five years ago! I immediately sent it to this person, saying, “Wink! Wink!” No way this lined up as some ordinary coincidence; this very verse I shared from the entire Bible showed up in a down, tired moment I was having! It was a wink from God at both of us! I smiled with God, having no doubt whatsoever that this was Him revealing another glimmer of His invisible presence with me as if saying, “I’m right here with You, My Nik!”

So, the story didn’t end there! When hubby kept asking me last night on the way home if I wanted some grilled chicken from his fav suya spot, I just repeatedly said, “Whatever my king wants, I want!” He said I should stay in the car while he went to pick it up, and I took it as the perfect opportunity to have an appointment with God. Of all my meditation books, can you believe God took me directly to this message in the Jesus Calling Devotional for Kids, written as if God is speaking directly to us:

“You Can Find Me (God) (Wink! Wink!)

“You can find Me in every minute of every day, if you have eyes that are looking and ears that are listening. Ask My Spirit to help you see and hear Me better. Practice looking and listening for me in the world around you, and gradually you will see and hear more. Search for Me with all your heart—and you will find Me.”

And the very verse quoted at the end, my peeps: Jeremiah 29:13!

Nobody can say all this lined up as a regular coincidence!!! Another one of my glimmers from God (winks!) when everything lines up a little bit too perfectly. See the deep, deep, deep love I feel from God? For Him to orchestrate that alone time in the car, for me to pick that specific book and message to read while waiting those few minutes for hubby, to reveal His Presence there with me, is the unfathomable love I want the entire world to experience for themselves. NOBODY WILL LOVE YOU THE WAY GOD LOVES YOU!!!!! Make today the day you start practicing listening and looking out for His invisible Presence, which can show up anywhere! Sweet!

GOD, I WON’T WASTE MY TIME WHEN IT COMES TO YOU!!!

That’s me singing to God and Him sweetly singing back to me: ‘I won’t waste my time when it comes to you, My Nik!’ God not only sings this to me, He shows me how intimately He is involved in my life. Like this morning at my prayer altar (my new God tree in Nigeria), I read an old post about our friend, Lucky Omoluwa, and, as I came into the office today, of all the people, it was my staff on the phone with his staff about a vehicle that came in for repairs. I took that as no coincidence, but God Himself winking at us all to learn from Lucky. Here’s what I had written about him:

“WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?”

I asked Kevin, Jason, and Ceri this morning in our WhatsApp group showing them a pic of the song ‘Highest In The Room’ playing by Travis Scott that I named our group after (they are really putting up with me guys!!!) The goal is to put together a book of ten chapters with some awesome advice of living our best lives with God. Today, for full transparency, I added my husband and a close friend to the conversation. But to explain what I mean by the highest in the room, I thought to write about someone who lived it, our great friend, Lucky Omoluwa, until God said He wanted His special angel back with Him.

Let me tell ya, I had the honor and privilege of watching Lucky in action. He lived life having direct communications with God Himself. This is what I imagine when I say highest in the room: Living life with one foot on earth and one foot in heaven having moment-by-moment conversations asking God what He would have us to do (or not do), say (or not say) and go (or not go) in every moment. Every conversation. Every circumstance. Every relationship. The things Lucky accomplished while here were nothing but extraordinary, and I have no doubt that this was how he did them.

Take, for example, the school he built where my kids attended in Nigeria. The school has given us five fierce kids. No joke! Today I had a video call with my daughter, Ember, at her university in New York, where she was sitting, looking so pretty, in the skybox overlooking the football team as one of the team managers. This super fierce daughter was trained at Lucky’s school, where she got a strong foundation not only in academic excellence but also in character training, learning perseverance, responsibility, integrity, discipline, and excellence as part of the core values. Even after his death, his legacy lives on in the hundreds of students still passing through those school doors. That’s the highest in the room I’m talking about. Even after death, he continues to positively impact the world!

I write a lot about love and loyalty in these posts because Lucky demonstrated these values on an out-of-this-world level. We traveled all over the world together, and he was exceedingly generous and loving, treating our family as if it were his own. Like, who would pay for a family of six to travel the world with them and cover most of the expenses? Lucky! They welcomed us to their home every Saturday in Nigeria, where I know God Himself sent me to his wife for training on how to be a wise and calm wife (still learning!). Before Kevin and I became so close, she was my guardrail, helping me to stay cool when the crazy lady wanted to come out. She is my shining example of a person who has beautifully pointed me to God. She and Lucky have been great influencers on my family. Not one moment around them was a waste of time. Even in death, I remain loyal to Lucky.

Bottom-line: What I really want us to take from Lucky is that God was his Man! The level of generosity, courage, love, loyalty, and excellence he demonstrated was that he was having continual conversations with God Himself using God’s wisdom, tact, and guidance (Not that he got it right all the time, nobody’s perfect!) This is where I want us all!! Everything is between God and us and not between us and anyone else. Seeing Ember on that video call looking so happy and flourishing was my special reminder of how God exceeds our expectations when we stick with Him. May Lucky’s life remind us all that we’re not here for a long time (every moment is a gift!), but for a good time, hopefully accomplishing some great things on God’s behalf. Amen!

LIVE YOUR BEST LIFE WITH GOD, PERIOD!!!

That’s my testimony, baby! I’m going with this verse:

“I (God) will instruct you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.” – Psalm 32:8

I’m grateful even for the difficulties, because they bring me closer to God, deepening my spiritual strength and making me more and more into the person He would have me to be. I tell God not to go easy on me if I want to be this tough soldier on His behalf in the world, God, bring it on!!! Because I trust and know that whatever God allows to happen to me is best for me!

Make today the day you commit to walking even more closely with God! It was a prayer I said some seventeen years ago: ‘God, I want a closer walk with You’ that has guided me on this beautiful path walking with God, all day, every day, and I want the entire world here with me where we continually seek God in everything we do, everywhere we go, and everything we say, doing it all for His glory! Amen!

GOD WANTS US TO FORGIVE OURSELVES, TOO!!!

That’s the message from Him this morning by my prayer altar. This God wink started yesterday when I felt this strong nudge from Him to attend the Breakfast and Bible group. Your girl was hungover from drinking one glass of wine, and I started arguing with that feeling, but I felt God saying that, despite that, I should still attend. So, I’m in the group, confessing that I was a little bit out of it, and the group’s moderator, Indira, out of the blue, chimes in, telling me I needed to forgive myself. I was blown away because it’s truly something I’ve been struggling with and beating myself about lately. I thanked her for that perfectly timed message.

Fast forward to this morning, God continued the discussion about forgiving myself when asking Him what page of our family’s website I should go to to hear from Him, can you believe out of 149 webpages, He took me back to a post from Ceri that I shared from three years ago where he shared this same issue with the Breakfast and Bible group about forgiving himself? No way this all lined up as a regular coincidence. GOD HIMSELF WANTS US TO FORGIVE OURSELVES!!!! Enough from me, though, here’s that post from Ceri:

So I want to read from the book of Isaiah 43:18-19, and it says,

“Forget the former things;

do not dwell on the past.
See, I am doing a new thing!

Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?
I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.”

These verses are very impactful because God reminds us of a few things. Like forget the former things… basically forget about your past. He tells us not to dwell on it. Don’t keep reminding yourself of your past. Like your past is your past, and you can’t change it, but the one thing you can change in life is your future. And the way you change your future is through the steps you take today. The decisions you make today can determine your tomorrow…

Everyone deserves a second chance, but the reality is that we all have a past. There’s not one person sitting on the stage, there’s not one person walking this planet who has done everything in their life that’s right in God’s eyesight. None of us. Every single one of us falls short of the glory of God. So, who are we to go there and comment on someone for their past or for things they’ve done? Who are we to decide how their future is or what they will be in life? That decision doesn’t rest with us and doesn’t sit well with me when people try to do it.

Because imagine if I had sat back and allowed people to tell me who I was going to be. Imagine if I had sat back and accepted that I couldn’t forgive myself for the things that I did. It took me a long time – it took me meeting all of y’all in here and telling me, boy, get over it – forgive yourself. Move on. God has renewed you and restored you. When I got baptized last year, the words the Pastor told me always stuck and will stick with me for the rest of my life: “WHEN YOU GO UNDERNEATH THIS WATER AND COME BACK UP, YOU’RE A NEW PERSON. And I’ve been living like that. Everyone deserves that chance. Everyone deserves that opportunity because God gave it to me.”

God, help us all forgive ourselves and others for the past, and keep moving forward with You as our Life Partner and Guide, forgetting the former things and being excited about the NEW lives You have planned for us. Amen!

CAN I BRAG ABOUT MY BROTHER, JASON, TODAY?

I can’t get over him and how he has been sticking with his baby sister here and giving me such great advice. Like one morning, I was stuck, overwhelmed by a situation, and paralyzed over what direction to take. He called, saying, ‘Nik, what are you doing by your God tree? Get to work!!!” He explained that when you get out, that’s where you will meet people. You will figure things out. You will get direction and clarity as to how to move forward. FACE YOUR CHALLENGES HEAD-ON WITH GOD. Can you believe I rushed out to work that day, and that God had already figured something out? GOD CAN MAKE A WAY WHERE THERE SEEMS TO BE NO WAY!!!!

That’s my testimony! As we keep showing up, doing our best in the physical realm, God is at work in the spiritual realm, tweaking situations on our behalf. This verse from Exodus 14:14 has been my personal experience with God:

“The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still.”

And being still is not in a lazy, careless way. It’s still about showing up and doing THE BEST YOU CAN, CONTINUALLY WITH YOUR EYES FIXED ON GOD on what He would have you to do (or not do), where to go (or not go), and what to say (or not say). I’m talking about living life with one foot on earth and the other in heaven, where we are having conversations with God Himself, directing us. That’s faith, baby!

I want us all excited about our relationship with God! As Jason and I agreed, he is teaching me about business. Still, I’m teaching him about walking closer with God as our business and everything else Partner. Yes, Jason was right that I didn’t need to be stuck at the God tree all day, but don’t get it twisted: that daily meeting with God is crucial for us to learn His voice and direction for our lives – God has great things to say to us!

Let me tell ya, I would be running to that God tree in the dark, listening to my prayer on YouTube from the Daily Prayer with God. Then I would sit down close to the tree and ask God where He would have me go to read (I love our website: werollwithgod.com!) that would tap into His voice and what He would have to say to me. Then, I stay until I feel what I call my high five from Him. God will always find some way to give me a glimmer of His Presence.

And truly, this awareness of God’s Presence with me is what gives me the joy, courage, and peace to take on my life, KNOWING without any doubts I have God Himself fighting with me! He is with you, too! Wake up every day and have your alone time with God, and then start paying attention to His voice and direction all day! YOU DON’T GO WRONG WITH GOD!!! This relationship is too important to snooze on!
