ARE YOU LEARNING GOD’S FUN PERSONALITY?
I am! I am! One morning, before chatting with a customer, I turned on the radio for some background music. Minutes later, as the he is saying to me, “One monkey don’t stop no show!” unbelievably, the radio station is playing a song with the precise lyrics, “One monkey don’t stop no show!” I jumped up with such enthusiasm and joy, knowing it was God revealing His invisible Presence there with us, when once again, and out of the blue, everything lined up too perfectly! That’s the fun and sweet side of God. I’m hoping you guys are getting to know it personally! God Himself orchestrated this entire meeting!
He is an older, retired gentleman, and he gave me a new perspective on my personal life and my work for God. We were on the test drive when I opened up the challenge of being in the US and my husband in Nigeria. “It hasn’t been pretty,” I confessed. I explained that I truly must keep my focus on God, closing my eyes and pretending I don’t see what I see, and closing my ears, pretending I don’t hear what I hear. He said, “You must do that! Otherwise, you will just be distracted by FOOLISHNESS. You must keep your focus on your kids and keep being the wise woman they need you to be and ignore the silliness that’s looking to distract you.” I promised him that I would share this message with the world – let’s keep fighting for our families, ignoring the FOOLISHNESS that’s trying to destroy our homes – stay strong!!! GOD IS OUR STRENGTH as we try to be His people in the world- loving hard and forgiving plenty! It is what it is, folks!
Then he shared that, even though he is retired, he was buying the van from me because he is supporting his granddaughter as she finishes her studies to become a doctor. He assured me that I did the right thing by dividing our family by bringing our daughters to finish their education in the US. It was a hard and huge sacrifice, but God has been with us every step of the way, even sending us great customers like him who pulled out his checkbook and paid me cash – those who look to the LORD will not starve!
This customer inspired me to keep going with God, and I’m reminded of these verses from the Apostle Paul:
“As for me, my life has already been poured out as an offering to God. The time of my death is near. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, and I have remained faithful. And now the prize awaits me—the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give me on the day of his return. And the prize is not just for me but for all who eagerly look forward to his appearing.” -2 Timothy 4:7
May we all make God proud by running hard the race God has called us to finish, accepting both the good and hard times, with God’s strength and grace! Amen!
BE GREAT EVERY DAY… WE ROLL WITH GOD
