We Roll With God

He is in the STORM with us. He is in the FURNACE with us. He is in the DUNGEON with us. He is in the FIRE with us. That’s what He keeps showing me. Like yesterday, I called my quarantine buddy feeling very upset, and I said to her, “I’m on to God. He is trying to unshackle (free, unrestrain) me from everything that is holding me down and keeping me from rising up into the Nikki I know He is calling me to be.” Fast forward about an hour later, still very upset, I go to look for something I had read in my meditation book where He told me in another difficult moment that He knew this was hard for me, but to trust that it is also BEST for me that I go through it. I searched the entire book for the word “hard,” and this was the first result that came up (written as if God was speaking to me in that very moment):

“Hardships are part of the journey… THE WORLD IS FULL OF TROUBLE, but I have overcome the world! I call you to transcend your troubles by looking up to Me. I am training you to be an overcomer—UNFETTERED (Wink! Wink!) by circumstances.” – Jesus Calling

Immediately, that word UNFETTERED grabbed my attention. I go to Google asking what’s another word for unfettered and guess what showed up: “UNSHACKLE.” Exactly my sentiments to my friend that God is still trying to release me from slavery and being tied down too close to this fallen, broken, and cluttered world, to live instead from a heavenly perspective KNOWING that HE IS WITH ME. Woohoo!!!

Another one of my God winks to let us all know that He is intimately a part of EVERY conversation and every moment of my life directing and helping us, no matter the challenges that come our way. It’s like He said, ‘Nik, search for the word HARD in your meditation book!’ just to let me know that His invisble Presence is in all the troublesome situations with me. I can, therefore, be calm, relaxed, and at peace, doing my best at EVERY moment, tapping into God’s strength, power, love, approval, wisdom, guidance, and direction. HE IS IN THE FIRE WITH US!!! Start pay attention!!! Don’t miss out! God, PUSH us closer to You!!! Amen!

And I want you with me! This life is TOO HARD to do without Him! I NEED HIM EVERY SECOND! Like this morning, I ran to Him five minutes after having a conversation with my nephew, Duro, and my daughter, Ember. I said that we need to figure out what to do with his clothes now that he has moved in with us. They were all packed in the middle of Ember’s room in a suitcase. Leaving them, I went to have an appointment with God, feeling overwhelmed by this tight living arrangement we have going on, and astonishingly God showed up. Of all my meditation books, this incredibly showed up on the very page I opened to:

“You may be feeling CRAMPED in your current situation…”

I’m talking exactly how I was feeling in that exact moment. CRAMPED: “feeling uncomfortably confined by lack of space.”

But I just spoke to Duro, and we’re working it out so that everyone is feeling more comfortable with the new set-up. Can you believe, though, that God showed up on the very page I had opened to in this over 700 page devotional? Incredible! That’s the God I’ve come to know and love. He is not far off in some distant place from us, He is in the cramped, difficult, tumultuous situations with us.

The verse that followed said:

“And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, AND HE WILL DWELL WITH THEM, and they shall be His people. God Himself WILL BE WITH THEM and be their God. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.” – Revelation 21:3-4

We’re not going through life alone. God DEY!! He is there with us no matter what we’re going through. We just have to learn His voice and be obedient to what He asks of us. See how I was able to go to that specific page just feeling that was the one God wanted me to read at that very moment. For Him to just let me know He is with me no matter the situation, cramped or spacious, made me feel so loved! LOL! Let’s ALL get STRONGER with the Lord. Devon Franklin got me waking up early to have appointments with Him now, and I’m so thrilled. No more tears. The former things are passing away. Amen! May 2020 make us all STRONGER WITH THE LORD.

That was my daughter, Ember, to me two evenings ago, but today my attitude is, even during my worst year, I’m gonna be killin’ it. Meaning, as defined by urban dictionary, “To do something with the best of your ability; to become a legend in the process.” Never let a good tragedy go to waste! I’m using all the negativity as fuel to motivate myself to be better, stronger and most importantly, LOTS closer to God. Heehaw! Are you with me? Let’s recommit our entire lives over to pleasing and honoring God in every moment, no matter the challenges that come our way. WE ARE RELYING ON GOD. Finish!

God has been showing up for me all over the place! Like right after Ember made that comment, I pushed her to have an appointment with God, reminded that her and my daughter, Julie, are like my audience right now. They’re watching and learning valuable life lessons from their mamma on doing life lovingly, kindly, bravely and courageously with God! I had just written this in my last post:

“MY GREATEST STRENGTH Is knowing that I CONSTANTLY need God!!!”

And unbelievably, Ember decided to reads her birthday for that alone time with Him, and it shockingly said (written as if God was speaking to us):

“I DESIGNED YOU TO NEED ME CONTINUALLY—and to delight in that neediness.” Wink! Wink!

So, for me to write MY GREATEST STRENGTH Is knowing that I CONSTANTLY need God!!! and a couple of hours later, He says back, “I designed you to need me continually,” was no coincident. It was God Himself revealing His invisible Presence with me and Ember. (SWEET!!!)

Then, after my husband sends an old picture of us together yesterday, I felt God saying I should respond with this specific message back to him:

“Forget the former things! God is doing a new thing! He is taking our family to new and greater heights! HE WILL MAKE A STREAM in the wastelands, a spring in the desert.”

Just feeling God Himself was the one dictating to me as to what to write (He is my help in every aspect of my life!). Long story short, the girls came out to run errands with me, and as we’re driving next to the highway, Ember shocking points out a LONG STREAM of water flowing that was not there before. Apparently some nearby lake overflowed from lots of rain and I immediately thought of that text to my husband: HE WILL MAKE A STREAM. God did!

THIS WAS NO COINCIDENT! That was God finding a NEW way of showing me His deep love and attention. I was at peace the entire day driving around with my daughters KNOWING GOD HIMSELF WAS THERE WITH US.

“And the LORD, He is the One who goes before you. He will be with you, He will not leave you nor forsake you; do not fear nor be dismayed.” – Deuteronomy 31:8 (NKJV)
