LET ME TALK TO YOU. SAY A FEW THINGS

I had a great time singing and dancing to the Nigerian song If at another one of my hubby’s workshop BBQs. Again, it’s not where I would want to host anyone (in a vehicle repair shop!), but my husband loves it. And like our friend taught me the last time, I’m to show up and support hubby the best way I possibly can, with LOTS of humility, love, and respect for him. And I did exactly that!

Yesterday, I went up to his office to hang out with God for a little bit, mostly reading through my old posts, and they were so refreshing. Even the God maniac here needed the reminder that He’s intimately involved in our lives. God had me pick the very ones I needed to reread! Incredible He is!

I left there feeling like a new person, so happy! Reminded that God knows ALL that concerns me and I handle NOTHING alone. He’s in total control of everything! That gave me the confidence to wake up with extra joy and excitement today, standing up like a soldier, ready to take on whatever may come my way.

I love how God is helping me to MATURE. Not being blown away by every little storm that comes my way. I see myself much calmer because the difficulties and frustrations have taught me some precious lessons. I now KNOW God is on my side and anything that He allows to come my way is because He knows that I need them to help me grow up and mature in some way.

Like last year this time, I was starving for love! Feeling everybody in Nigeria was happy to be rid of me while I spent some months in the U.S. on a business trip. God wanted me to Himself and to teach me that HIS LOVE is way more than enough. They even closed down the Nigerian airport I needed to return to for some weeks!!! It was the song Starving that played on the radio where I got the message from Him:

“I didn’t know that I was starving till I tasted You (God)
Don’t need no butterflies when You give me the whole damn zoo”

I became God’s girl on that trip! So when others disappoint me, I can now say, “It’s cool, I still love you!” I no longer cling to anyone; I cling to God, and THAT has been THE GAME CHANGER! Don’t need any butterflies when HE GIVES ME THE WHOLE ZOO!

KEEP CALM—YOU’RE ROLLING WITH GOD

“ANYTHING I’M CONCERNED ABOUT, IS A CONCERN FOR GOD…

…He goes above and beyond what I imagine or expect from Him. This gives me the peace to relax and trust that I’m not going through life alone, God is with me.”

That was me in my last post. Fast forward some hours later, He asked me this through my meditation book:

“Aren’t you sometimes amazed to see so many things work out well for you?” – He and I

God, a BIG YES!!! YOU GO FAR BEYOND WHAT I CAN EVER DREAM OR IMAGINE!!! YOU FREAK ME OUT WITH YOUR AWESOME GOODNESS AND LOVE AND CONCERN FOR EVERY DETAIL OF MY LIFE!!!

Like today was such a great day! I took the girls out to take a test at a college 10 minutes away from our home here in Florida. This is a college we would always pass, and I would say I would like them to start their college classes there. But here is how God has exceeded my expectations. The girls want to begin college-level courses while still in high school. They can possibly graduate high school with a college degree! How cool is that? To have such on the ball, going the extra mile, smart, hardworking, brave, persistent, and responsible daughters makes this geek mom sincerely happy. God, You’ve done it again – exceeded my expectations.

Another beautiful message from Him yesterday said:

“The keynote for ____? “In each other’s hearts. You will keep yours in Mine and I’ll be in yours.” – He and I

God, done. I want to reside in Your heart every moment of my life. Amen.

GOD CONTINUES TO SHOW UP FOR ME

I had a little situation yesterday where I prayed and asked for His help, and He showed up. I needed some emergency medical advice for someone close to me, and with one little Google search, I got a feeling to call one of the offices that came up for Dr. Max. On the phone with a laboratory for some test results I needed them to fax over, I said, “I don’t know if his first or last name is MAX.” Looking up, right after that call, I saw a sign saying, “MAX height …” Wink! Wink! This was unbelievably God letting me know I was on the right track by calling that specific doctor.

And this doctor did not disappoint us. We spent a long time with him as he went over in detail what was going wrong and his strategy to help us. He was a specialist in all the areas we needed assistance in. Incredible! I knew this was God, again working in the background of my life, connecting me to the right people to assist me when I need them. He is really cool like that! The Bible says the steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord and I felt it was Him guiding my finger to call that gentleman’s office yesterday, out of all the other names that showed up in that Google search.

I feel God’s closeness so much that everything I do, I want to do my best to please Him. Heaven is our audience. Me taking the day off from work to help this person is because whenever I need help, God shows up for me. God pays me back more than what I can give anyone – spiritually and materially.

Life is a two-way street. We need each other. I couldn’t stop bragging how God even sent someone to stay with my boys in Nigeria and how this person is now so involved in making sure the boys do their school work properly, which my husband has no time or patience for. Anything I’m concerned about, it is a concern for God. He goes above and beyond what I imagine or expect from Him. This gives me the peace to relax and trust that I’m not going through life alone, God is with me. I may be away from my hubby’s overprotective care in Nigeria, but I’m with God everywhere I go. I can’t see Him or touch Him, but I know He is there. He’s there for you too!

“NO EYE HAS EVER SEEN OR NO EAR HAS EVER HEARD OR NO MIND HAS EVER THOUGHT OF THE WONDERFUL THINGS GOD HAS MADE READY FOR THOSE WHO LOVE HIM” (REPOST)

Woohoo! I NEEDED this reminder from 1 Corinthians 2:9 today! This is the reason why I’m NOT turning into crazy lady, and I’m focusing instead on doing what I feel God Himself would have me to do: Nik, be the calm and wise woman I’m training you to be. ‘Yes, Father. Anything to please You!’

Super tough to be OBEDIENT to God, but this is how He leads us through the Holy Spirit to the beautiful path He planned out for us even before we were even born. I don’t know about you, but I’m living my God dream to the fullest DESPITE the junk the devil wants to throw my way. Devil, I ain’t got no time for you, I’m too busy living my best life with God.

And I want the world here with me, seeking to LISTEN and be OBEDIENT to God and His voice within each of us, keeping our FOCUS on Him despite the negativity surrounding us. We forgive and forget remembering God is our audience. And we know ALL things are possible with Him on our side fighting our battles for us in the spiritual realm. Our job is reflecting the GOD IS LOVE character wherever we go and in whatever we do. Don’t let the devil take us off our God designed path!!!

I’m having the best conversations with my kids these days. With my FOCUS on God, I can look forward to me and my husband attending their college graduations, marriages, the birth of our grandkids and all the other marvelous things God has planned out.

Therefore, no matter the negative situation, I want us believing God’s voice, not the lies of the devil. With us HOPING for the best, expecting the best and working towards the best, we do what we can, and we leave the rest with God. Wink! Wink!

“I CAN DO ALL THINGS THROUGH HIM WHO GIVES ME STRENGTH”

KEEP CALM—YOU’RE ROLLING WITH GOD

“YOU GOTTA BE DEAF, DUMB, AND BLIND”

That was some great advice from a friend the other day! We’re both learning that sometimes you have to hold on to God’s hands, BLINDLY, allowing Him to be the Guides of our lives in every moment, doing what He would have us to do – professional ignorers!. My wake-up song every morning says this, as I imagine God singing it to me:

‘Baby, I gotta be the One you love
_ I gotta be the One you feelAnd I gotta be the One to fill your life with sunshineI gotta be the One you know’Cause I will always love you soI gotta be the One you needI’m just telling you that I gotta be’ – I Gotta Be, Jagged Edge_

Yesterday, in my appointment with Him, He asked something like, “Am I not involved in every detail of your life?” And He is! I continually feel His Presence, helping me, guiding me, and importantly LOVING me. With love I receive from Him, I can share it with others, going the extra mile in love, kindness, and forgiveness. Nobody’s perfect!

That’s why this song is my wake-up song – He has to be the one we love first and foremost! With that love, we can go through life making decisions from a God perspective: ‘God, what would You have me to do here?’ Trusting God’s direction for our lives.

This move away from hubs and the boys has brought me closer to God and I’m so happy, leaning on His chest, and going courageously through my days knowing He is with me. I go to Him constantly that my life is becoming He and I going through this life together. And that’s where I want all of us, leaning on God’s chest for His constant love and guidance.

We’re never alone – God is always with us!

“THE MORE YOU HURT ME, THE LESS I CRY”

Who would’ve have thought that getting hurt could be a good thing? It has for me! In fact, I use all the negatives that come my way – the failures, mistakes, bitterness, resentments, disappointments, aggravations, sadness, hurt, pain, sickness, feelings of loneliness and hopelessness – to get closer to God and to lean on His chest as I go through my life with Him. The negatives are HUGE reminders that I’m not going through life alone and motivation to get even closer to God. And let me tell ya, a life lived close to God is the best life.

Even after writing yesterday that Sunday mornings are hard being away from my husband and the boys, God showed up for me and my sons yesterday. I decided to call them on a run around our neighborhood. I ended up finding a place to sit and have an appointment with God with them. Joshie picked a number from our A Purpose Driven Life Devotional for kids and it said, “Joy is enjoying life in spite of problems. Joy is not the absence of suffering but the presence of God. That is why Paul says we rejoice in suffering because God is always with us.”

This was the essence of that last post I wrote hours before that appointment. I’m away from hubs and the boys (seriously hard), but feeling God’s Presence continually with me here in Miami, keeps me up and going like I’m God’s special girl. He gives me joy despite my sufferings at the moment. That message showing up was my God wink that God is with my boys, even though I’m not there.

No matter the situation we’re facing, we can focus on the Presence of God KNOWING HE IS ALWAYS WITH US. We can turn to God in every moment, leaning on His heart, seeking His face and trusting that His invisible Presence never leaves us.

I made a big mistake the other day, and I’m even turning that over to God and taking the BIG lesson as to look to God even more for His guidance in every decision. That means slowing down and not rushing to make quick decisions without His help. That means MORE listening to Him in my spirit before I make any move!

God s involved in every detail of our lives. We can use all those negatives to seek God. Pray continually knowing He is always there, LOVING TO BE BLIND, as we place our hands in His hands to lead us on the path to a delightful and peaceful life, despite them! Amen! GOD IS OUR GREATEST FRIEND!

SUNDAY MORNINGS ARE HARD

Away from my hubby and sons in Nigeria!!! This is usually our family’s chill day at home together. But I just remind myself that weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning. Like my Julie said, “Mom, you’re on a mission!” And I’ve happily accepted that mission as God’s Geek Mom, helping my daughters to become the best versions of themselves, all for His glory, of course. They both just left me in Starbucks to write this as they went off on a little errand by themselves. Ember even wants to begin driving!!! God help us!

Perspective is everything! I’m looking at this time in Florida as a new adventure with God. He continues to show up everywhere! Like the other day, picking up the girls from school, I decided to call a friend. We had spoken that morning about a hurtful experience and I decided to give her another call to say that sometimes in relationships we just have to pretend we’re blind and deaf, pretending we don’t see what we see or hear what we hear. About 15 minutes later after hanging up from her, I accidentally went in the wrong pick up lane to get the girls and got stuck in this long line of traffic. I said, let me use that opportunity to have an appointment with God, and right after telling my friend that we should be BLIND, the very book I decided to continue reading from incredibly said:

“LOVE TO BE BLIND (Wink! Wink!), since it is I (God) who am leading you if you really want to put your hand in Mine.”

Honestly, this is where I am in my life, LOVING TO BE BLIND with my hands in God’s hand with Him leading the way. I have no doubt that He is the one who has led me on this path away from hubs and the boys for a little bit. I continually feel His Presence here with me. I see how He is helping me with the right people showing up, the right ideas, direction, and solutions magically coming in my spirit, and the constant God winks showing up along the way. I’m feeling like God’s special girl!

And with all this love I’m getting from God, I’m giving Him even MORE of my love and respect. Can God have some of your love? Let’s take some time right now to tell Him how much we love and appreciate all that He does and will continue to do for us. And then putting our hands in the hands of the Man who controls everything. He should be our first love and priority with us remembering that He is with us in every moment of our lives for support, comfort, love, wisdom, and help.

“GOD SAID WE SHOULD OVERCOME EVIL WITH GOOD”

I called a friend saying this a short while ago. I was telling her about a recent “negative” experience and how I opened up my Jesus Always to find the perfect message from God:

“When events in the world or your private life are threatening to unnerve you, grasp My (God’s) hand in trusting determination. Refuse to be intimidated by evil; instead, overcome evil with good. I am with you, and have won the ultimate victory…”

Heehaw! Got that? “Refuse to be intimidated by evil; instead, overcome evil with good.”

And God has even confirmed that this is exactly what He would have me to do with this issue. I came to work a few hours after speaking to my friend, and I decided to read my beloved calendar that God’s speaks to me through and unbelievably about the fifth date I turned to read:

“Forgiveness is the ultimate antidote to the poison of loss, harm, sin, and sorrow, even though it looks like the most bitter of cures.

“Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. – Romans 12:21

Another God wink when everything lines up a little bit too perfect, and I know it’s God reminding me that His Presence is with me in every single moment of my life.

I’m so in love with God! He should be our first love and priority with us remembering that He is with us in every moment of our lives for support, comfort, love, wisdom, and help.

I really want us taking this overcoming evil with good seriously because whatever anyone else does is between them and God and whatever we do is between God and us. I don’t know about you, but I want to completely suck up to God, following His lead in every moment of my life because the blessings from God are off the chain. He’s so amazing! Every moment He is showing me such love, and of course, I want you guys in on this, too.

Last night when the crazy lady made an appearance, I went to God sadly asking, “What’s wrong with me???” And He had me read the perfect message in Jesus Calling this time:

“… you forget who you are and Whose you are.”

This was after my post last week was entitled:

“I KNOW WHO I AM AND WHOSE I AM”

KEEP CALM—YOU’RE ROLLING WITH GOD

GOD’S INVISIBLE PRESENCE IS SHOWING UP EVERYWHERE!!!

“He said meet me in Miami.” God did that is, with those lyrics showing up in ‘At the Club,’ one of my fav exercise jams in Nigeria over a month ago. And He has met me in Miami, baby!!! I’m LOVING ALL THIS ATTENTION FROM HIM. Feeling like God’s special girl FOR REAL!

Again, my God winks (glimpses of His loving Presence) are when everything lines up strangely TOO perfectly to be a regular coincident and I know without any doubt, it’s God letting me know His invisible Presence is always with me. He’s pretty sweet and cool like that!

For Ember’s recent 17th birthday, He sang the happy birthday song to her through the show ‘All American.’ It just so happened that on her 17th birthday, the main character of the show we were watching was also celebrating his 17th birthday. Again, this lined up TOO perfectly. Like what are the chances of all the shows on Netflix that we decided to watch THIS show and of all the episodes we watched THIS episode on THIS day? Totally orchestrated by God! Ember felt the love from Him. too!

Next, I’m driving with a new mechanic to see a vehicle we needed his help with. On the drive, I asked him if he believed in God, he said, “I believe!” We get to the car that needed fixing and on the bumper of this very car, there was a sticker saying, “Father, Jesus, Holy Spirit (GOD) – I BELIEVE!” Again, of all the bumper stickers in the entire world, why would THESE very words, very specific to our conversation, show up on a vehicle we’re going to see 5 minutes after our talk?. TOO PERFECTLY TO BE COINCIDENT.

Then it was one last night when I strangely had a craving for broccoli and decided to cook some for dinner. I had Julie to taste test for me to see if it was cooked enough and she thought it needed some more cooking and I said, “I like it AL DENTE! (meaning not fully cooked). Again, watching another episode of our binge-watching of the show ‘All American,’ a couple of hours later, a character on the show appears wearing a t-shirt saying of all words, ‘AL DENTE!’ in BIG BOLD LETTERS. Again, too perfect to be coincident! All orchestrated by God to show me His love!

If you don’t believe me, start paying attention for yourself to the so-called coincidences that show up for you. Let me tell ya, they give me such peace and joy knowing how much God loves and is thinking about me. Like He goes to such trouble just for me! THIS IS THE BEST LIFE CLOSE TO HIM!!!

I’M LOVING MY LIFE WITH GOD!!!

It’s far from perfect, but I’m cherishing my relationship with Him where He makes me feel so loved, as if I’m the only person in the world. I’ve gotten to the point where I feel His invisible Presence showing up all over the place, reminding me that I’m never alone and that I can enjoy every day of my life with Him as my loving and faithful Father, Friend, Protector, Advisor, Counselor, and Teacher.

CASE IN POINT:

Yesterday, my mom joined me at work and we ended up going for a beautiful lunch date at Panera Bread. I ended up having the most delicious veggie sandwich and we shared a freshly baked chocolate chip cookie for dessert. I felt that the whole day was planned out by God just for us to have that time together. And as we walked back to the car, we waited for a car that was backing out and my two numbers showed up together on the tag of that car – 11 and 7. These two numbers are special to me and God that His invisible Presence is always with me. Like He was saying, ‘Yes, Nik, I did plan out this day for you and your mom.’ Wink! Wink!

After dropping my mom and daughters back home, I had to rush back to work to take care of an urgent matter. On the way with someone in the car with me, they pointed out all the prostitutes and pimps along the road to where we were going. Getting to the place, I had to wait in the car for a little bit, and I decided to have an appointment with God. Amazingly this showed up in my meditation book, from exactly where I had last left off reading:

“Lord, there are these poor girls in the brothels (places where men go to visit prostitutes). I wish so much that they would give up this terrible life.” – He and I

For this to show up minutes after that conversation was God again revealing His intimate and invisible Presence with me. This was no regular coincident! It was God.

I love God’s response in the book in regards to these poor girls in the brothels, which is a message to all of us:

“There is no sin that I cannot forgive, no soul fallen so low that I cannot heal. You see in the Gospels how some people were scandalized. And I am always the same. My heart always goes to the most unfortunate…Love Me, love intensely. You can never know all that you can obtain and transform with your love on earth. But I know.” – He and I

God, I’m in! I want to love You and others even more intensely!
