TAKE YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD SERIOUSLY!!!

I have a new guy in my life! He is a Muslim pastor named Mufti Menk, and he is taking me to a new realm of closeness with God, baby! He said this in an Instagram reel, and it has changed me:

“Your five daily prayers; Work on them. Hold on to them. Become strong on them and see the miracles in your life.”

Let me tell ya, I’m back running to my God tree in the dark because of this message! I’m taking my relationship with God more seriously than ever. When the going gets tough, the tough (us!!!) get closer to God. I’m blown away by how God would figure out all these unique ways to reveal His Presence with me there. I run to the tree, excited to hear from God! Here’s what happened today:

Before getting to the bench close to the tree where I sit to read and hear from God, I saw a mile marker on the running path that said 1/6, so I said I would go to page 16 of our family’s We Roll With God website. But this God wink began last night when I forgot my keys in the office to get into my house, so I said let me go and have dinner at a close restaurant while I waited for my nephew to come and open up for me.

There, having alone time with God, reading a meditation book, the verse from the Bible, “Vengeance is mine, says the Lord showed up. I then thought about a customer, Richard, who taught me that. I then start thinking about all the other things Richard taught me and how he has had such a strong influence on my life in the little conversations we’ve had. It’s amazing the wisdom he has blessed me with! I then go to the page 16 of our website and look what showed up there:

“PLEASE DON’T MENTION THAT AGAIN!!!
That was me to my daughter, Julie, after she jumped to fight for her sister’s rights to transfer from the university she is currently attending. I explained to her it was the same situation when everyone in the family turned against me when I wanted her to leave high school early and begin college. I’m so happy a customer, Richard, explained to both what’s going on with me:

“You guys may not understand your mom’s decisions now, but stick with her. Support her. Love her. Your mom is in a heavenly realm where she makes decisions with God. Just trust her and listen to her.”

Can you believe I have quoted that back so many times to my daughters? Even Ember wanting to leave her university in New York, and I would say remember what Richard said, “I’m having conversations with God that you may not understand, and I am not feeling God say you should leave that university.” Now Ember is the one telling me that not only does she NOT want to leave the university, but she herself wants to even kick it up a notch and move to the campus that’s in New York City where I’ve been trying to get her to go. The power of conversations with God!

That’s why what Menk said is on point:

“Your five daily prayers (alone times with God); Work on them. Hold on to them. Become strong on them and see the miracles in your life.”

We need to hear from God before making decisions! I stood firm with my daughter, saying I didn’t feel God was asking her to leave that university. Now she is happy she stayed, and she is enjoying working with Nike! I’m so proud of her guys! She is the one now motivating me to step up my game to make her proud of me the way I am so proud of her! That’s how we do my lil baddie! Appointments with God are a must for our lives! Let’s all learn His voice so we know the decisions He would have us to make!
