“I’M CALLING AGAIN TO TELL YOU WHAT A BEAUTIFUL LIFE I HAVE”
That was me to my brother, Kevin, yesterday. His reply was, “Neeks, you have a gorgeous life.”
Glory be to God! I’m walking hand in hand with Him and asking Him to be my Guide, Partner, Helper, Strength, Love, Planner, Father, Therapist, Friend, Coach, Protection, Strategist, and Teacher. A good thirteen years ago, I said a prayer, ‘God, I want a closer walk with You.’ And let me tell ya, that’s the best prayer I’ve ever said because the closer you walk with God, the sweeter your life becomes. HEEHAW!!!
Even the other night, I was ANGRILY confronted by someone at our office in the night with only me and them there. And your girl here didn’t flinch – MY GOD IS WITH ME. I politely spoke to them, but they refused to calm down and left me to close by myself. But, no problem, I felt totally safe and secure, KNOWING God never leaves my side. I’m always protected.
His invisible Presence is always showing up for me. Like the other day, before leaving to a Drivers’ License appointment with my daughter, Julie, I gave Ember, my other daughter a kiss on her head saying, “LOYALTY.” Julie and I get to the DMV line, and the second person ahead of us is wearing a shirt with “LOYALTY” printed on the back. That was 40 minutes or so after kissing Ember and saying “LOYALTY.” It was God’s sweet way of revealing His invisible Presence with us there. Loyalty and faithfulness are one of the essential values He’s teaching me. Don’t worry what anyone else is doing, loyalty and faithfulness are repaid by God Himself.
Every day I run to the end of my 47 trees that God lined up for me to run under in celebration of my 47th birthday, and I give that tree a high five. That’s where I get my confidence booster for the day. I know with God I can tackle anything that comes my way with His wisdom, love, and strength.
Will you say that prayer, ‘God, I want a closer walk with You.’ I do not promise an easy life, but I do promise you love and support like no other. God shows up for me as if I’m the only person in the world. But don’t take my word for it, continually give Him your hand and live a life that you feel is pleasing to Him in every moment (trust me, it doesn’t have to be perfect!). He sees our hearts. Then have focused time with Him every day reading or listening to anything spiritual so that you can begin learning His voice for direction for your life.
That was from a customer that I’ve never met, who just asked me out the blue to pray for me. And, believe it or not, this was God showing up in the midst of a messy day saying, ‘Nik, I’m here with you.’
It was the most beautiful prayer where he prayed for me to be united with my husband and sons in Nigeria, for our business to do well, and most importantly, for me to trust God no matter what happens. Wow! That really blew the God maniac away! I needed the reminder TO TRUST GOD.
I was just telling my mom how every morning I go and run past the 47 trees God had lined up for me, and at the very last tree, I stop and give it a high five saying, ‘God, WE’RE TOGETHER, no matter what comes my way today.’ That’s my daily confidence booster KNOWING that God’s invisible Presence is always guiding me.
Yesterday, God showed up when I asked what Bible verse I should focus on to share with a group in Uganda that I speak to Wednesdays at noon. Fifteen minutes to the time, I kept throwing out some of my fav ones, but I remembered that I had already spoken about them all. I then started writing out the theme of the message:
“Can there be anything more wonderful than going through life with God as one’s companion?” – Yes Father
Long story short, as I landed on the verse Jeremiah 29:13 about a minute to noon, that I had to even to look up on Google, God had the very verse to appear in another Whatsapp group on my phone at exactly 12 noon, as if confirming and saying, ‘Yes, Nik! This is the verse I want you to discuss today:
“If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me.” Jeremiah 29:13
That landed up too perfectly to be some regular coincident. Of the hundreds of Whatsapp group I participate in, for this very verse to show up was God Himself letting me know His invisible Presence is ALWAYS with me. I’m telling ya, this is the sweet life with God. Even through the trials and tribulations, we can have the peace that passes all understanding trusting that He is with us. Are you seeking Him wholeheartedly?
That was me to my daughter, Julie, yesterday. And I continued, “Thank you, I needed that embarrassment!” I was asking everyone conversation questions, and one came up as to what we obsess about, and my daughter hit the nail on the head as to what her mom is a little bit too crazy over lately. For her to call me out like that was EXACTLY the wake-up call I needed. God had this to say to me as well in an appointment with Him yesterday::
“‘Those I love, I reprove and chasten (humiliate)’ (Rev 3:19).
Therefore, my friend, our supernatural reaction to this humiliation should be an act of deep gratitude: ‘I thank you, Lord, for you have humbled me.’… your soul soaked in humility and will give greater holiness to your life – and very probably an unsuspected effectiveness to your activity…now you have the opportunity to know some defect in your character, in your formation or in your attitudes. You are not worse; or at least you are in the best position to set about being better… You will now know where the evil lies that you should eliminate, you know the defect you should fight against, and you know what you should avoid…”
Julie revealed a severe defect in my character, and now I know where the evil lies that I can work on being better. “When I am weak, then I am strong.” I can now work on catching myself in those moments and have a little conversation with God, who is my constant Companion. I can present everything to Him, and we can hash it out together. He’s my therapist and He says I can say anything I want to Him, but to others, I must practice SILENCE. God, I’m working on that one!
What defect do you have in your character that you need to work on with God? Thanks to Julie, I now know mines! Get God involved in every aspect of your life. That’s the essence of all these blogs and vlogs that God wants to be intimately involved in our lives to help us. That’s the great news I have that we can walk hand in hand in every moment seeking God’s love, guidance, and help no matter the struggles we face. Let’s live our best lives with Him! Thanks, my Julie and Ember. Our fierce babes’ alliance remains STRONG, where we help each other work on both our strengths and weaknesses. May God help us all. Amen!

SOMETIMES YOU HAVE TO WALK THROUGH SOME DUCK POOP
That was my grand revelation the other day as I ran through a batch of duck droppings to get to my fav place to run these days (under the shade of my 47 trees God had perfectly lined up for me in celebration of my recent 47th birthday!). And that’s life! We’re going to have to deal with some crappy times! Not every day is all sunshiny and bright, let me tell ya, but these dark times are on the way to our own personal promised lands. Heehaw!
God knows what He is doing for us. Nothing is wasted with God! He uses these dark times to stretch, mold, grow, and teach us and, most importantly, BRING US CLOSER TO HIM. My worst times become my best times. They are when I had to lean on and wholly depend on God. I was running to Him every minute, ‘God, what do I do here?’ And He is always available to help guide me through the most complicated of issues. Don’t play with God, He is an expert in everything!!!
Solutions to problems would magically pop in my head, when I know I’m not that smart. People would show up to assist me. Like a professional who met with my husband and I for free for three hours to help us sort through a challenge that had come up. God is amazing! To the point I just TRUST Him completely! God may kill me, but still I will trust Him.
How’s your relationship with God? He has asked me to help bring you closer to Him. Don’t miss out on all this love and attention. Human love is duck poop compared to God’s love. Oh my goodness! No one can love the way God does. Even that my worst times become my best times because in my weakness, His strength comes through with Him seeming to ask, ‘Who is messing with my Nik!’ What was meant to harm me is miraculously turned into my good when it brings me closer to God, wrapped up in His love as HIS GIRL. I then can respond to situations and other people from there, being the strong, courageous, and brave Nik, but yet still soft, gentle, loving, and forgiving. God, thank You!!!! Have your appointments with Him reading or listening to anything spiritual. He has lots to tell you! WALK WITH HIM IN EVERY MOMENT, seeking His wisdom, strength, and LOVE.

“I’M ON STRIKE!!!” (REPOST)
I decided not to take that sucker punch so easily after all. With God’s guidance, I’ve decided to fight this battle peacefully. After my husband called my brother to complain about me, I called him back to give my side of the story and to ask for him to give my husband our family’s response to the matter (having some fun with this African culture thing!). However, I wasn’t expecting this from my brother in a Whatsapp voice message:
“You helped me when I was in that predicament. You calmed my wife down. You helped to sort things out for me. I don’t see why I can’t help sort out things for you. Life is a two-way street. A lot of people only see from their perspective. They don’t even see the streets. Some of them have tunnel vision. Those who see it from two ways are the ones who are going to make it. And honestly Nikki, I hate to be the one to say this to you, you in this thing, you are the one who taught me about believing in God and everything else. And you have to trust that He (God) will level this thing out. No matter how He does it. You have to let God level this out. You can’t level it out.
Only thing you can do now to help, especially those beautiful children you have, you have to show them how to keep a solid head. You have to let them admire you for being a strong woman. And more than anything else, the people on the other side that are causing all this ruckus, you have to let them see you like an individual they’ve never seen before. How this woman get so strong? Living her life and not even checking. You don’t have to check for nobody. You are well taken care of. And more so than anything else, I have to put in a word for Manny (my husband). Nikki, you could have run into somebody who could have left you with all those children and you don’t know your head from your elbow. Don’t say it can’t happen. It can happen. You have to understand that he is a stand-up guy. Oh, he has his ways, we know that. But he’s there with his family.”
Wow! So true! I know I have the best husband in the world, and honestly, in thinking about it, I’m going with my brother’s advice, and I will let God level this situation out. God, I trust You. Amen. The strike is officially called off; Back to being the best wife in the world!
