“WHO CAN TREAT ME BETTER THAN YOU AND GOD?”

That was me to my hubby a few minutes ago! Let me tell ya, he goes from one minute of being my gift from God, to the other minute my cross that I have to carry for God! LOL! But helping me to tackle this messy love/marriage thing: GOD!!!

Like this “311” that shows up continuously. I wrote this a few days ago:

“… whenever “311” shows up, it’s His reminder that I should stay on the high road with Him (after He protected Julie yesterday, I’m on the HIGHEST road, y’all!). That I should specifically BE STILL AND KNOW THAT HE IS GOD and that He is behind the scenes of my life fighting battles for me. So when I want to stress, get frustrated, and anxious about anything, He sends this “311” to beautifully say, ‘Nik, I got you! Relax and enjoy your life!’”

So, unbelievably, a customer I recently sold a car to had a little issue yesterday. I jumped into the vehicle to see what she was talking about. Immediately as I went to turn down the volume of her music playing, you would not believe this, but she was playing CD 3 and track 11, and the time that had elapsed on that very song was 3:11. On the screen was exactly “3/11 3:11.”

No one can tell me that this was all coincidence! It was God reminding me to stay on the highest road with Him being my most loving, forgiving, and gentlest self. When the crazy lady wants to be all angry and frustrated, I have to calmly remind her that we’re obeying God and leaving the consequences with Him, no matter what hubby does, I aim to be the best wife possible, ALL FOR THE GLORY OF GOD. He is my BOSS!!!

When the cross part of the marriage shows its ugly head, I have decided to lovingly and joyfully carry it for God. That means being silent and pretending I don’t see what I see or hear what I hear, overlooking 10,000 of hubby’s faults because God overlooks 10,001 of my own. If I have to be the peacemaker and glue holding my family together, no problem!

“Always be full of joy!” is the Bible verse I want to run with because I know that as I carry my spec of a cross, God is helping me in the spiritual realm, tweaking situations on my behalf that I CAN TRUST HIM WITH ALL MY HEART. He gives me more than I can ever imagine or ask for! Let’s all be God’s people in the world, loving extravagantly and forgiving endlessly! Nobody’s perfect!

“Never let loyalty and kindness leave you! Tie them around your neck as a reminder. Write them deep within your heart. Then you will find favor with both God and people, and you will earn a good reputation. Trust in the LORD with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.” – Proverbs 3:3-6

“MOMMY, YOU’RE THE ONE WHO PUTS THE RANGE IN THE ROVER!”

That was my son Joshie on Friday when I picked them up from school in a Range Rover. “This is the car we should have been driving since!” he excitedly said. A few days before this, we called my husband in Nigeria from the US to say how the neighbors, two houses away from us, the son goes to the same school as the boys, have a Range Rover, and we’re driving a Honda (a super faithful vehicle, by the way!). I jokingly said to hubby, “The Junior CEOs and I have decided that we need a Range Rover to drive!” He surprisingly said, “There is one at the shippers. I’ll let you know this afternoon if you guys can use that one.” Of course, hubby agreed (Perks of being in the car business!)! But my fav part of this story was getting home after dropping the boys off, and I’m listening to DJ Khaled’s song, where I took these lyrics as God saying this to me:

“It ain’t nothing for me to spoil you.” Wink! Wink!

And spoil me is what God and hubby do best! This picture is of my daughters and me today driving the Range to church, baby! We attended the church where we went every Sunday years ago, and we would pass this Audi dealership, and my husband would announce that it was ours. Not knowing this extraordinary man would replicate it in Nigeria. “That church brought us good favor! Let’s go back there!” I told the girls.

Honestly, I’m so grateful to Nigeria for changing our lives. It was there where I started writing these blogs ad learning some crucial values. God took my family and me on an adventure with Him, where we met some remarkable people who embodied Love and Loyalty so that I can be here today to teach you God’s kind of love and faithfulness: THAT NO MATTER WHAT ANYONE ELSE IS DOING, He calls us to be devoted, loyal, faithful, reliable, steady, patient, enduring and dedicated, always going the extra mile in love and forgiveness.

A conversation with my brother, Kevin, helped me figure out God’s ways yesterday in another one of our sacred conversations. I like talking to him to get a male perspective on things! Previously, we had discussed that I would stop the cartoon show of Tom and Jerry and end the never-ending cat and mouse chase of seeking my husband’s love and approval. Since then, God has been reminding me that His love and acceptance of me are enough, and my job is to share the love with others that I abundantly receive from Him. Kk, Boss!

We also discussed that I would free my husband in Nigeria from my “tracking” phone calls as if that’s my job to keep track of his constant whereabouts. God, has been saying, “No, Nik! I want you contacting your husband from a space of love (not crazy lady!).’ ‘God, that’s hard!’ I argued back, ‘It’s best I don’t call him at all. Just leave him to live his life wife free for now.’ I then felt God saying that I should continue calling hubby, but I can tap into His strength, wisdom, tact, personality, and charisma on a moment-by-moment basis. GOD IS OUR GREATEST FRIEND! I told Kevin that it’s my job to show you guys and my kids how to take on life with God joyfully and courageously. Heehaw!

So, on the way to church, we tried calling hubby, but he didn’t answer. But leaving, we reached him on speakerphone in the Range, and I did what God said; I tapped into His strength and personality, laughing and joking with hubs, while demonstrating to my daughters about God’s kind of love and faithfulness. Where we do everything for His glory, knowing everything is between God and us, not between us and anyone else.

Like a conversation with my daughter, Julie, last night before sleeping. She casually told me that she pretty much has already qualified for a full scholarship to a top college in the US, where they would pay for her total tuition and living expenses. That’s the faithfulness of God in action. He gives us exceedingly abundantly above that we ask when we stay on the high road with Him. Wink! Wink! Don’t miss out on the sweet life with God!! DO EVERYTHING FOR HIS GLORY!!!

“YOU’RE MY FAVORITE”

That’s not only the message on my coffee mug this morning, but seriously how God makes me feel with all the love and attention He shows me. Like yesterday, my sweetie daughter, Julie, had an accident on this major highway here in the US, and can you believe she was able to simply wipe off the scuff marks from her car? From the first day I brought that vehicle home for Julie to drive, I told her that God told me He would be her protection as she drove it. And He hasn’t disappointed us!

First, it was the red light that she ran that God sent me to that exact intersection at the perfect time to protect Julie from another car hitting her. It was crazy, but at the green light for me, my spirit told me to stop. The next thing I knew, my little baby girl was coming out, running the red light on her side. There was a big truck in front of her and she didn’t see that the light had turned red. But like I told her yesterday, mistakes are OK. We learn the lessons, and we keep going. God, THANK YOU!!! Your love never fails me (HUGE SMILE).

But I’m not selfish, I want you to feel all this love God shows me. Like I always tell you guys about how God talks to me through numbers a lot. For example, whenever “311” shows up, it’s His reminder that I should stay on the high road with Him (after He protected Julie yesterday, I’m on the HIGHEST road, y’all!). That I should specifically BE STILL AND KNOW THAT HE IS GOD and that He is behind the scenes of my life fighting battles for me. So when I want to stress, get frustrated, and anxious about anything, He sends this “311” to beautifully say, ‘Nik, I got you! Relax and enjoy your life!’

So on Monday, your girl woke up stressing (hey, I’m only human!). But here is how God showed up. First, it was a customer who I offered to pick up. She sent me the address from where she had to return a rental vehicle, and the building number ended in “311.” Next, I’m filling out her application to apply for the loan, and her zip code astonishingly ends in “311.” I submitted her application, and the first bank that approved her, the payment turned out to be exactly “$311.11.” No way these were all random coincidences; they were all orchestrated by God to remind me of His deep love for me and that He is by my side as I bravely, courageously, and lovingly take on my life. HEEHAW!!!

I’ve disappeared on you guys for a bit, hanging with the best brother ever, Kevin. We had some sacred conversations, and he helped me to figure out where I’ve seriously been making a mistake. I allowed my life and happiness to revolve too much around my husband. The fretful and insecure wife needed to go! Kevin correctly explained that I needed to have a life apart from my husband so that when I’m not with him, I’m building a life of my own and not fretting about his whereabouts that and I will lose him. I need to hold hubby with open hands, freeing Him to live his life, while I’m sucking up to God’s deep, unconditional and unfailing love for me, enjoying my life with Him. Like me and my sons hanging with Kevin two nights in a row. Let me tell ya, your girl here had the best time! I took the boys into an art gallery and made a pic there my phone’s screensaver, crucially reminding me:

“LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL”

Especially when you seek a closer walk with God! He got us no matter the troubles that come our way! Wink! Wink!

I LOVE MY CONVERSATIONS WITH MY BROTHER, KEVIN

Today, we spoke about living life with one foot on earth, where the challenges, frustrations, hurts, and disappointments constantly show up. The other foot in heaven with our focus on God asking what He would have us do in every moment, being His angels, no matter what anyone else is doing. And to just be about living a life pleasing to Him:

God, with all the craziness in the world right now, what can I do to make you smile and happy?

I’m wisely learning to tackle every moment from a God perspective. I feel Him out in my spirit (The Holy Spirit within each of us) as to what He would have me to say, what He would have me to do, and where He would have me to go. Based on His voice that I’ve come to learn over the years, I’m pretty good at feeling out the cues, nudges, and signs from Him. Like today, I really wanted to get the boy’s haircut but debated whether this was a good day. The next thing I knew, a truck passed by me on the highway with a big sign saying “BARBERS,” and I knew it was God saying I should get their hair cut today. I did!

I’m feeling extremely close to God right now, but I still prayed for Him to pull me even closer to Him. I pray the same for you. God’s ways are not always easy to follow, but I promise you, His ways are always best. Today, I’m at work with my sons and daughter, and I’m so grateful to God and Kevin for helping me to get to this gorgeous life. I’m grateful I had patience. It ain’t perfect but I’m celebrating every day like it’s a birthday and every night like New Year’s Eve, where I can importantly learn the lessons and keep waking up and moving towards progressing to an even better version of myself taking these crucial lessons from Kevin with me:

▪ Be on chill (not taking anything too seriously) for life.
▪ God will level out the mountains. Leave the battles with Him.
▪ Don’t try to be God, be God’s angel.
▪ You’re going to have to be patient right now.
▪ Don’t force anyone to do anything they don’t want to do.
▪ Marriage is like a team. When one spouse is weak, the other must take over being strong and vice versa.
▪ The good, the bad are all a part of God’s divine plan. Even the ants gathering crumbs to take to their nest to feed the baby ants in a world of superjumbo jets.
▪ You are your own worst enemy!!!
▪ Don’t call me again (to complain). Only contact me to tell me what a gorgeous life you have.
▪ I want you to work on being wise.
▪ SHINE BRIGHT! Let people look at you and say, “Where did this woman get all this strength from.”
▪ If Jesus can ask God to forgive the people who nailed him to the cross, who can we not forgive?
▪ GET CLOSER TO GOD, MAKE HIM YOUR TOP PRIORITY

“LET ME TAKE OVER THE CAR BUYING!!!”

One thing about me is that I’m very persistent (annoyingly persistent!), and after insisting to my husband that I will take over that responsibility from him, he has finally allowed me to be in charge of the buying of inventory for our business here. But, yesterday, God confirmed that He is my Partner in this challenging endeavor with a shortage of used vehicles in the US at the moment. Here’s how:

“You want to hear a story,” the BMW dealer advisor asked me yesterday. After buying a vehicle from Georgia, an issue came up, and I prayed to God for a couple of days on how to handle it. I finally felt Him say that I should take it to this specific BMW dealership in Florida (thousands of miles away from where I purchased it). The advisor called me yesterday saying that this specific vehicle was there before at their dealership. And instead of calling me, he called the previous owner, asking her why the car was back to him without her tag (license plate). She explained that she traded in the vehicle for another vehicle and was no longer the owner. He was blown away when I told him that I had purchased it from another state, but God said I should send it back there for it to be checked out.

“Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the LORD Almighty.”

This was God confirming that His Spirit is with me as I buy the cars and as I figure out how to handle problems related to them. This is too much to be some regular coincidence. It’s God showing me His deep and personal involvement in my life. The advisor was able to tell me the service history of the vehicle!

Then, I shared with this advisor that I wanted to give this vehicle to my daughter, Julie, because she has been my right hand lately. I go to work a couple of hours later, and my manager said a lady wants to talk to me about buying this car. I called her, trying to sell her another BMW, but she insisted on this particular one for her daughter. In my heart, I want to keep it for Julie, but I woke up this morning and felt God strongly in my spirit that He wants me to sell this car to this lady for her daughter. I texted her saying, this is crazy, but God is telling me I should sell the car to you guys. This was unbelievably her response:

“My daughter, the one I’m buying a car for, already reads scripture every day. I am so blessed that He is the center of our lives. It’s always nice to meet a fellow Christian. What a crazy world we live in today. I prayed about this car last night. He never stops amazing me. Please let me know what you decide on the price. I can be there today with a money order, cashier’s check, or whatever you wish.”

Not only does God help me buy the cars, His favor even goes as far as sending beautiful people to buy them. God is too much!!! Today, I wanted to tell you guys about my daughter, Julie, and the Godly principles I’m learning from her, like her loyalty, faithfulness, integrity, discipline, integrity, strong work ethics, and genuine kindness. I’m blessed! And why I live my life with the mindset that everything is between God and me, not between me and anyone else. I let people do whatever they want, but I stick on the high road trying my best to follow God’s voice in everything I do, even when it’s super difficult. I had a glory moment with goosebumps all over me singing this song today:

“Your grace is all-sufficient
It’s an all-sufficient grace
Your power and Your glory
Are forever on display
And Your loving kindness
Loving kindness
Is better than life

ll your ways are just, you’re just in all your ways
I will lift my hands in gratitude and praise
Life can be uncertain at times
Your loving never fails” – Better Than Life, Israel Houghton

The best advice I can give you guys is to make God your top priority and seek His guidance in everything you do. I hope you are seeing His PERSONAL and deep involvement in my life!!! Another customer yesterday told me how God Himself drove her into our dealership to buy a car from us. My son, Joshie, proudly told her the family standards for buying vehicles from the auction because we’re trying to honor God in everything we do. (HUGE SMILE)

“THE MOST PAINFUL THING I’VE EVER EXPERIENCED IN MY LIFE”

Those words from Meagan Good regarding her divorce helped me to understand what I’ve been going through for the past two years. It’s been painful, let me tell ya! From one low to the next lower moment. But can you believe now that I’m on the other side of all those hurts, I’m THANKING GOD? Yup, your girl here needed her heart broken a zillion times to look at my life from an entirely different viewpoint: A GOD PERSPECTIVE, BABY!!!

It was my brother, Kevin, who said to me under my God tree one day something like, “Neeks, you’re like a boxer right now. After getting hit in your head like 10,000 times, you eventually get numb to the pain.” That’s what has happened, the figurative (not real, guys!) blows don’t affect me the way they did in the past. The emotional, weak, and wreck of a person, needed to go! This was all God’s LOVING way to help me become the Neeks He would have me to be: courageous, tough, brave, strong, confident in Him woman, but at the same time, loving, gentle, loyal, faithful, enduring, kind, and going the extra mile wife, mother and person HE WOULD HAVE ME TO BE. Thanks to the pain!

I was at brunch with Kevin one Sunday, when an elderly server said, “You have to have a shield on so that nothing gets through to bother and upset you.” I wake up now and put on my shield. The disappointments still come, but with my shield on, I don’t let them get to me anymore the way they used to. I now live from a space of having one foot on earth with the hurts, disappointments, messiness, clutter, challenges, and brokenness exist, and the other foot in heaven FOCUSED ON GOD.

Last Sunday, when I didn’t go for my run, was a BIG lesson. These times under the tree are where I touch base with God to get His direction for my life and the decisions He would have me to make. Five minutes after telling a new friend that Dr.Charles Stanley explained that the Biblical principles that ring true to me are the guide I should use to make wise decisions. I gave her this specific example:

“Don’t lose your grip on Love and Loyalty. Tie them around your neck; carve their initials on your heart.” – Proverbs 3:3

At 8:59, I decided to read page 85 of our family’s website, and this incredibly showed up within minutes:

“Don’t lose your grip on Love and Loyalty. Tie them around your neck; carve their initials on your heart.” – Proverbs 3:3

No way this was some ordinary coincidence; it was God revealing His invisible Presence with me as if saying, “High five, my girl, you’re getting the lessons that I’m teaching you!” HEEHAW And this is what gives me the confidence to face my days confidently and joyfully knowing there is never a moment when God is not standing STRONG with me:

“He is the God who makes me strong, who makes my pathway safe.” – Psalm 18:32

That love and loyalty He had me go all the way to Nigeria to learn. Thank you to a great gentleman who personified this verse, Sir Lucky Omoluwa, who will live on forever in our hearts. It’s easy to love people when they are strong and doing what we want, but the real challenge is loving them despite their mistakes and failings. With God’s strength, may we love others the way God loves us. Amen.

“Trust God from the bottom of your heart;
don’t try to figure out everything on your own.
Listen for God’s voice in everything you do, everywhere you go;
he’s the one who will keep you on track.” – Proverbs 3:5-6

“SOMETIMES I DON’T MIND YOU HAVING THE WORST DAY”

Is what God tells me! God, me either! (HUGE SMILE) These awful days bring me closer to Him and to the other side of some great lessons He would have me to learn and share with you guys. The awful day was Sunday, and your girl here was all hurt AGAIN. But I’m getting like a boxer who becomes numb to the pain after getting their head knocked so many times. Warrior style, STAYING LOYAL, FAITHFUL, AND COMMITTED, all for the glory of God!

My daughter, Julie, insisted I go for my run to have my alone time with God, but I stubbornly didn’t go, telling her that I knew God was with me at every moment and the run wasn’t necessary. Then, whenever I’m upset, I run to food for comfort. I ended up eating brownies and pizza with my Tom Brady mindset to train every day like an athlete completely going out of the window.

The following day, I woke up still in a funk but decided to play some music to cheer myself up. I told you guys that God speaks to me a lot through Apple Music, and this station I created the night before, where Apple Music selects the songs from various artists (not me), this song, which is extremely special to me and God played:

“I feel good
When you’re wrapped up in My arms
Dancing to a reggae song
Feel good, feel good
I feel good
‘Cause your perfume isn’t loud
And only I can talk about
Feel good, feel good” – Feel Good, Beres Hammond

I wrote all about it yesterday, like a crazy person:

“I’m living life from the perspective that whatever comes my way, the blows, the challenges, frustrations, disappointments, that I’m walking through life at every moment with God, where He is smelling my perfume.”

Fast forward to today, I’m waiting for some cars to come up at the auction to purchase for our family hustle and decided at 29 minutes past the hour to have an appointment with God, look what sweetly showed up on page 29 of our family’s website from almost a year ago:

“Not only does He comfort me with so many of our favorite Bible verses that show up everywhere, but He also sings to me! Call me crazy, but this morning, in the middle of my run with Him, I was bawling, crying like a baby feeling so loved by God. This God wink started when I woke up to have my regular appointment with Him reading our family’s website, we rollwithgod.com. At 51 minutes past the hour, I go to read page 51, with this post showing up at the top:

“‘I FEEL GOOD’
Let me tell ya! I’m having the best time listening to Beres Hammond’s song, as if God is singing to me:

“I feel good
When you’re wrapped up in My arms
Dancing to a reggae song
Feel good, feel good
I feel good cause your perfume isn’t loud
That only I can talk about
Feel good, feel good”

God said I should find new ways of enjoying Him, and I’m doing exactly that, imagining that I’m going through my life wrapped up in His arms dancing to a reggae song, with only Him smelling my perfume. (SMILE)”
No way this was a random coincidence! It was God sweetly reminding me that this is where He wants us all, walking through life, cool, calm, and confident, KNOWING THERE IS NEVER A MOMENT HIS INVISIBLE PRESENCE IS NOT WITH US. That hurt from Sunday was just the blow upside the head I needed to get myself focused on God and not the craziness going on in my head, feeling so insecure and fretful all the time. Nik, you’re God’s girl, baby!!! I got a beautiful message yesterday on WhatsApp that I knew was God again talking directly to me:

“But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid (John 14:26-27). May you be braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think in the name of Jesus Christ.

May the Lord of the host open your eyes wide to all the courage, strength, and wisdom he has for you in Christ. May the Lord crush your INSECURITIES AND DOUBTS (Wink! Wink!) so that you might be an effective witness of his power in Jesus’ name. God richly bless you please child of God.” Amen!

God, I want to be an effective witness for You! If I’m honest with you guys, these insecurities really hold me back. But God makes everything beautiful in His time. When I look back on how silly I’ve been, He lovingly tells me to keep going as if nothing has happened because crying over past failures is only a waste of time and energy, which are precious gifts from Him. He holds our sins away from us as far as the east is from the west, and that’s where He wants us with others. “Love covers a multitude of sins.” AND HE LOVES US FAR MORE THAN THE WHOLE WORLD EVER COULD!

Let’s stop going wrong by looking to others for their love and attention and start focusing on God’s love. We can then share His love with others while focusing on God and the vital work He would have for us to do. Wink! Wink! I’m having such a great time with my kids as I teach them the family hustle. But they are teaching me lots too, like intense focus, hard work, and giving our best every day. Amen! I love my family! We ain’t perfect, but we’re pretty close!

CAN I BRAG ABOUT MY BROTHER/ANGEL, KEVIN, AGAIN?

For the past three years or so, he has been this special adviser sent to me by God Himself. No joke! The relationship we have is on an out of this world level. He speaks to me directly from God. The craziest thing was that my husband had reported me to him when the crazy lady had shown up one day, but when Kevin called me back, he said something like, “Neeks, forget this foolishness you and your husband are fighting about, work on getting your daughters to school in the US.” From that point on, whatever my hubby said, I just went along with him like the best wife ever, just to get my daughters in a school in the US that I have no doubt that God Himself picked out for them.

Fast forward to now, I’m thanking Kevin for being my guard rails and keeping my eyes on the prize and what God has in store for my life. Today, I spoke to my daughter, Ember, at her country club university where she and her sister both qualified for almost $30,000 a year scholarship because they graduated from that high school in the US. “I bow to you, my daughter! You have been consistent from day 1 (I have her excellent kindergarten report card as proof that I keep as a reminder to me to stay consistent with her siblings that are following in her footsteps).

None of this just happened on its own, GOD HAS BEEN LOVINGLY GUIDING OUR FAMILY. Today, I was back at the Audi dealership that inspired my husband to build one just like it in Nigeria. Again, all the courage, strength, favor, and wisdom are from God. We have no doubt that He is with our family and why I take such pleasure in telling you guys, “DON’T MISS OUT ON A LIFE WITH GOD!!!”

It’s not always easy, but thank God that I have my brother Kevin who gives me such good advice. Like, him advising me to get closer to God and to make God my top priority. Yesterday I felt like I was back in the boxing ring taking another blow, but I took it for the team. Hurts and disappointments are still a part of the deal, but I wisely use them now to do what Kevin said and I get closer to God. Knowing how I was feeling, God gave me the most tender God wink. I had borrowed Julie’s meditation book and these verses gave me such comfort:

“Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” – 1 Peter 5:6-7

Like I just kept the book opened next to me and I just kept looking at these words: “UNDER GOD’S MIGHTY HAND,” feeling that’s where I needed to stay and not get all crazy and emotional. As I posted my blog to Facebook, this message popped up on my screen a few hours later: “Your post to MIGHTY HANDS OF GOD (Wink! Wink!) was approved. I knew this was His way of saying He was with me on another difficult day. It is what it is, guys! We take the good with the bad, the happy with the sad, keeping our focus on God asking what He would have us to do. In fact, I knew it was Him even singing me this song today:

“I feel good
When you’re wrapped up in My arms
Dancing to a reggae song
Feel good, feel good
I feel good
‘Cause your perfume isn’t loud
And only I can talk about
Feel good, feel good” – Feel Good, Beres Hammond

I’m living life from the perspective that whatever comes my way, the blows, the challenges, frustrations, disappointments, that I’m walking through life at every moment with God, where He is smelling my perfume. I cleaned up our house a little yesterday and told Julie that if God is always with us, let’s keep our house clean for Him. Joshie’s friend, Isaiah made my day when their other friend wanted to leave. He said, “Why do you want to leave? This is the best house in the neighborhood.” The friend replied, “I know!” Here I’m thinking our house is always such a mess, but I think they feel the love that they’re always welcome, the games the boys have, and they have complete access to the snacks.

On Saturday, I had a difficult situation at work I was handling and we were all blown away by how everything came together. We have no doubt that God is our Partner the way everything went so smoothly.

So, when the difficult stuff comes, I want us all saying, ‘No problem, God, we got You, the way You always have us!’ The world is in a crazy mode right now, but let’s all be angels like Kevin, going gently on ourselves and others.

I LOVE MY RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD

The way He shows up for me with all His love and attention blows the God maniac here away. Like this morning, I woke up reading this old post in my appointment with Him, about some conversations with my sister, Verona:

“At one point, I’m listening to Rob Bell’s podcast and his guest, Don Golden, talked about the slaves from Egypt being freed and how God is calling us ALL to be freed from anything that is holding us back from being the people He is calling us to be. I got so excited calling her back, saying we have to free ourselves from our personal mental slavery and start thinking the thoughts that God would have us thinking not this JUNK we’ve been getting sad and depressed over. The words from Bob Marley’s song came to mind, “Free yourself from mental slavery.” After talking to her, I sent her a text, “Google Bob Marley’s song. Wow, He is speaking directly to us.”

Minutes later, God reveals His intimate Presence with us. She walks past her nephew’s bedroom, and he is UNBELIEVABLY playing this very Bob Marley song, “EMANCIPATE YOURSELF FROM MENTAL SLAVERY.” Honestly, I can’t get over the sweetness of God, letting me and her know that He Himself is with us as we take on this superhero role for our families, all for His glory. This was His way of encouraging us both to continue joyously carrying the crosses He has assigned to us. God, ANYTHING FOR YOU!”

Fast forward an hour later after reading this, I’m in our kitchen cleaning and playing music, and what song incredibly plays out of my library of close to 1,000 songs:

“Emancipate yourselves from mental slavery
None but ourselves can free our minds” – Redemption Song, Bob Marley

You may call this a coincidence, but it was God once again revealing His invisible Presence with me. I loved a conversation with my daughter, Ember, today. I told her how I’m getting my head back together, but that while I was down going through my little dark time, God stood strong with me. The lyrics of this song perfectly articulate what has happened:

“But my hand was made strong
By the hand of the Almighty
We forward in this generation
Triumphantly”

I got Ember to this beautiful, state-of-the-art, top-rated university in New York in my terrible state of mind. My other daughter, Julie, is waiting to hear back from the top universities in the world for acceptance and scholarship offers. My sons are both aiming for all A’s at their school where they are establishing a solid work ethic and learning responsibility, as EVERY DAY they MUST focus and give their best. My nephew, Duro, is a different person now since he started his internship with Amazon. I’m so proud of the business here that I’ve been trying to get back on track, that I have no doubt that God Himself is helping me. And hubby and I cooked Nigerian food together for the boys through video call today. I got to tell him how overwhelmingly thankful we are for this big sacrifice he has made for our family by allowing us all to leave him in Nigeria while we are in the US. “I will never forget this!” I told him.

I say all that to say, don’t play around with your relationship with God. Seek to please Him all day by making wise decisions from His perspective: ‘God, what would You have me to do here?’ Let that be our goal. In my weak, sad, and depressed state, He overwhelmingly loved and supported me. So much so that I’m running with Kevin’s statement from the other day, “If Jesus can ask God to forgive the people who nailed him to the cross, who can’t we forgive?” We must continually wipe the slates clean for ourselves and others when we mess up. Let’s be God’s superheroes in the world, especially in being the glue to hold our families together.

“Put on the full armor of God so that you can fight against the devil’s evil tricks…That is why you need to put on God’s full armor. Then on the day of evil you will be able to stand strong. And when you have finished the whole fight, you will still be standing.” Amen!

“HOW THIS WOMAN GET SO STRONG?”

Those were the words from my brother/angel, Kevin, unbelievably from over two and a half years ago that I keep in my head ever since he sent me this WhatsApp message:

“Only thing you can do now to help, especially those beautiful children you have, you have to show them how to keep a solid head. You have to let them admire you for being a strong woman. And more than anything else, the people on the other side that are causing all this ruckus, you have to let them see you like an individual they’ve never seen before. How this woman get so strong? Living her life and not even checking. You don’t have to check for nobody. You are well taken care of.”

I’m running with those words, “HOW THIS WOMAN GET SO STRONG?” here to teach you all what Kevin and God have been teaching me with this message from God continually showing up:

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.” – Joshua 1:9

Your girl here has been through A LOT!!! But it was all a part of my training/curriculum from God to be the wise, mature, focused, happy, peaceful, loving, courageous, brave, bold, hardworking, and content wife, mother, and person God Himself would have me to be. HEEHAW! I now ask how I can respond to situations while glorifying and reflecting God. Nothing is wasted! He uses all my messiness and makes it my message to you guys that His invisible Presence is with us in every single moment. It’s just for us to develop a relationship with Him, learn His voice and direction, and be obedient to Him. This is the way to the best life!

I can’t get over all the love and attention God shows me. Like this morning, I sent a text to another one of my angels saying they are teaching me this:

“Not to be the emotional, crazy lady reacting but a wise woman responding.”

Fast forward to a few minutes ago looking for that message from Kevin, this showed up in the same email that came up:

“The goal is to develop spiritual stamina so when a problem occurs, I don’t react out of emotion but out of wisdom.” Wink! Wink!

The exact text message from under the tree a few hours ago. God is pretty talkative! I want us all going through life being these wise people, responding to every situation from a God perspective. Like under the tree, He gave me this tough advice to follow when the crazy lady in me wants to make an appearance:

“…God has been teaching me about learning to vent to Him and to others I should remember silence (SUPER HARD!!!). I explained that it is an act of love towards another person when you sometimes hold back words and do not speak. A part of being wise is knowing when to speak and when to be quiet.”

Like this angel explained: Life is chess where you strategize 4 to 5 moves ahead, not checkers where you just react without thinking through the next moves. Last week I accidentally took a wrong turn, and my GPS immediately recalculated the new route. That night, watching some reels on Instagram, a video explained that life is like that GPS. It didn’t take me back to the beginning of my route; it simply recalculated from where I was at that wrong turn. We are to accept all our mistakes and failures from the past and simply recalibrate by looking at where we are now and what we need to do from that point to still reach our goals and dreams. We can continually wash the slates clean for ourselves and others, learn the lessons and keep going forward with God.

Kevin said yesterday that if Jesus can ask for forgiveness for the people who nailed him to the cross, who can’t we forgive. He told me that my cross is a dust of a cross that God has asked me to carry. A few hours later, I dropped my sons off at Calvary Church, reminded that Jesus was hung on Calvary and that I’m to continue lovingly and joyfully carrying the cross from Jesus on God’s behalf. God, anything for You!!! May we all be the spouses, parents, and people who make Papa God proud. Amen! Not easy, but for this God who is doing so much for us, lets be the going the extra mile people in love, patience, and gentleness, all for His glory.
