That was me to hubby this morning.

Last night at dinner, I asked: “What was the best decision you have made in your life?”

I didn’t even blink. I looked at Papa Bear and said, “Hubby, you’ve been my best decision.”

Then I caught myself.

God Whisper: Pause, Daughter. Don’t let love for him make you forget love for Me.

My spirit corrected me right there: “No, Nik. No way. Your best decision wasn’t a person. Your best decision was developing a relationship with God.”

Fast forward to this morning. I wake up, grab my phone, and BOOM.
The very first thing on my YouTube feed from Faith in Prayer @FaithinPrayer-g1m is a prayer titled:

“One Decision Changes Everything”

God Whisper: You see that? I heard you last night. I answered you this morning. I never miss a word.

No way I’m thinking I could call my hubby my best decision and leave God out.
God intercepted me before breakfast.

And let me tell you, I’m on a mission now.
To tell the entire world: The best decision anyone can ever make is to develop a relationship with the Almighty God.

Here’s the prayer that showed up today. It explains exactly why God has been the best decision of my life:

“Heavenly Father,

In the quietness of this morning, before the demands of the day begin calling for my attention, before my thoughts become crowded with decisions and my heart is pulled in countless directions, I come before you. I come to place you first, not out of routine, out of REVERENCE, DEPENDENCE, AND LOVE.

You are the source of every breath I take, the designer of my future and the anchor of my soul. And today, oh God, I declare with all that is within me, you are first. You are not merely one option among many. You are everything. You are not an addition to my day. You are the atmosphere that surrounds it. You are not someone I fit into my schedule. You are the one who gives my schedule purpose and meaning. So I offer you my first words. I give you my first thoughts. I place the first fruits of this day at your feet.

Lord, bring alignment to everything within me. Tear down every idol I have allowed to stand before you. Whether it is my career, my ambitions, my plans, my comfort, or even my fears. If anything has taken your place, remove it now in the name of Jesus. I do not want a life where you are merely included. I want a life where you are the center of everything. Reshape my heart, oh God, until your will becomes my deepest pursuit. I surrender this morning to you, not merely as a symbolic act, but as a heartfelt declaration. This is not religion. This is relationship. This is kingdom alignment.

I no longer want to spend my life chasing blessings. I want to pursue you, trusting that as I seek you, blessings will follow. Your word declares, “Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added unto you.”

Therefore, I seek you. Not the possessions, not the positions, not the recognition, not the solutions. I seek you, Lord, because you alone are enough. Holy Spirit, take charge of this day. Direct my decisions, watch over my emotions, guide my speech, establish my steps. Let nothing come from my mouth unless it has first passed through your wisdom. Let no thought remain in my mind that has not been purified by your truth. Let no action proceed from my body that fails to reflect your will.”

Say this prayer with me. It’s the same one I prayed over 17 years ago.
It’s been the best prayer of my entire life:

God, I want a closer walk with You. Amen.

How To Put This Into Your Life – Real Talk:

If you’re a teenager:

Start your day with 60 seconds before TikTok or school. Say: “God, You’re first today. Take my thoughts, my words, my moves.”
If you catch yourself putting grades, games, or your phone above God, just say “My bad. Reset.” God loves resets.
Use the last line: “God, I want a closer walk with You. Amen.” Say it anywhere.

If you’re a parent holding up the house:

Give God your first thought, not leftovers at 10pm. Even 2 minutes counts.
Ask: “What’s taking God’s place? Work? Worry? Control?” Name it. Tell God: “Remove it in Jesus’ name.”
Let your kids hear you say “I put God first today.” They copy what they see.

If you’ve been knocked down:

You can start again today. Yesterday doesn’t own you. God’s mercies are new.
You don’t need perfect words. “Help me” works too.
Seek Him, not just the fix. Chase the Person. The provision follows.
