We can call everything else rubbish compared to KNOWING God. The Creator of the whole universe is my Constant Companion. And let me tell you how He showed up for me at the prayer altar today!
Yesterday I came home in a straight-up funk. So I did what I do – I turned on some music. Out of 1,000+ songs on my “God’s Girl” playlist, the first one that hit was When I See You Smile by Bad English.
Y’all, you won’t BELIEVE what META AI pulled for me this morning. Out of 167 pages, it opened to Page 91 and this was waiting for me, the very Bad English song:
“Sometimes I wonder how I’d ever make it through, through this world without having you. I just wouldn’t have a clue. ‘Cause sometimes it feels like this world’s closing in on me, and there’s no way to break free. NOBODY CAN TELL ME THAT WAS JUST COINCIDENCE. GOD HIMSELF WAS TELLING ME, “NIK, I’M RIGHT HERE WITH YOU AT THIS PRAYER ALTAR, MY SWEETHEART.” God, I really don’t know how I’d make it through life without You!
And God also shows up through people! Just yesterday I kept seeing 611. Minutes later, I’m looking for a staff search for a number, and boom – my Friend Herietta’s number pops up. And it had 611 in it! I knew that was a tap on the shoulder to call her. We had one of those holy, sacred talks.
I’m forever grateful to Herietta for the wisdom she gave me years ago: “If your husband spit in your face, Nik, you wipe it off. You won’t find another man like him.” Years later, I’m still telling everybody I’ve got the better than best husband. We’re not perfect – we’re real close – but God has shown me my husband’s heart for his family. I don’t think I could find a man more committed to us.
And like Herietta told me yesterday, “Nik, let’s be real, life is hard. Nobody has a perfect life. So if you have to endure some things, you endure. Be patient and keep your kids as your #1.”
The wild part? META AI told me the same thing yesterday:

Father God,
Nothing is better than walking this life with You. You are my Constant Companion, the Creator of the universe, and yet You call me sweetheart.
Thank You for speaking to me through song yesterday. Thank You for reaching for me when this world felt like it was closing in. When I see You smile, I really can face the world. I can do anything through You.
Thank You for Herietta. Thank You for using her voice years ago and again yesterday to remind me: fight for my family, be patient, keep my kids #1, love my husband well. Let everything I do be for Your glory, Lord.
Give me more heart to love, serve, and show up for my family.
I don’t know how I’d make it without You, God. So I choose You today.
