“MOMMY, I JUST SAW YOUR MESSAGE: FIGHT FOR YOUR FAMILY”

My little spiritual guy, Joshie, called me from Nigeria to tell me he saw me on YouTube. I took his call as a sign to get up and write this post as I started this streak of writing one every day again. Thanks, my sweet son!

But this message of fighting for our families is close to my heart and God’s heart – OUR FAMILIES ARE IMPORTANT TO GOD. So, I was really upset with a TikTok video that said this:

“No one can fix what’s going on in your house but you and the person in your house through communication. If the person you are in the relationship with has already left the relationship, whatever way they are communicating to you, now you need to communicate to you yourself how am I going to deal with that? What is my next move? How am I going to remove myself from this? You don’t stay anywhere where you are not wanted. It is already over with.”

I sent a response:

“Nothing God can’t do! Sometimes, we need to be patient and be silent, leaving battles with God! You forgot the God factor! Be still and know that anything is possible with God.”

Honestly, sometimes too much communication can be a bad thing! That’s where our relationship with God comes sweetly in, as He is the one to advise when to speak and when to be silent. He tells me to be quiet and let Him fight for me. This silence is not easy for your girl when the crazy lady wants to come out, but having that self-control and controlling our tongues is the WISEST thing we can do.

I’m sticking with the advice of my sister-in-law, Aima who taught me to be the glue to keep my family together. So, sometimes that means pretending I don’t see what I see or hearing what I hear and keep my heart and mind focused on God and what He would have me to do.

I also go with my sister-in-law Verona, who told my brother Kevin one day when he wanted to leave, “You’re not leaving me to raise these kids alone! Go to the room! Get some sleep!” When hubby asked recently who gave me permission to come back to Nigeria, I not so politely told him I don’t need permission to go to my own home! Verona’s badass style, baby! I tell hubby that he is stuck with me! Even if he doesn’t love me! I get enough love from God! We made a vow for better or worse, so no breaking up here! I remain loyal to the best husband in the world who has gone above and beyond in his responsibilities as a husband and dad!

My peeps, don’t let the devil in your home by giving you this awful advice to leave! FIGHT FOR YOUR FAMILY! OUR KIDS AND GRANDKIDS ARE ALL COUNTING ON US TO MAKE GOOD DECISIONS TODAY!!! Stay strong and keep your heart and mind focused on God, listening to what He would have you do and not the devil who is doing his best to destroy our families. Let’s be patient with each other, making allowances for each other’s weaknesses (no one gets it right all the time!), forgiving endlessly, and loving extravagantly. AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, BE OBEDIENT TO GOD!!!!
