“I’M HAVING FACE-TO-FACE CONVERSATIONS WITH GOD, BOYEEE!!!”

That was me to my brother/coach, Kevin, yesterday! I told him how all of his advice is working for me, especially when he said that I should make getting closer to God a top priority. This is my prayer for us all that we can walk through life JOYFULLY and STRONG, knowing that we have God as our constant Companion, Friend, Guide, Helper, Strategist, Planner, Father, Helper, Therapist, Supporter, and Teacher walking with us. Nothing more wonderful than this! (HUGE SMILE)

I have a place I meet with God every day, and it’s truly astonishing how He finds these ways just to let me know He is there. Like the night before last, rushing the boys out to church, I ironed an outfit for my son, Emmie, but he didn’t like the pants I selected and instead pulled out some crumpled jeans. At that point, he had like five minutes to get dressed before his ride came, so I remembered what my cook taught me about giving clothes a strong shake when I didn’t have a chance to iron them, and I did exactly that and rushed Emmie out the door. Fast forward the following day under my God tree, this incredibly showed up on our family’s website of now 115 pages:

“Our cook said, “Just give the clothes a strong shake and let them go!”” Wink! Wink!

This one little sentence showing up under that tree was God revealing His sweet invisible Presence with me as if saying, ‘Nik, I know everything about you, including every thought you think! and everything you do!’ And He didn’t stop there. God found a way to also confirm a post I recently wrote about my nephew, Duro:

“I told him that I’m the mother eagle who takes apart the nest of the eaglets so that she forces them to learn how to fly on their own. I’m not my kids’ friend now, but eventually, they will hopefully see that this crazy momma/aunt always had their best interests at heart. Same thing with my relationship with God. I ask Him sometimes, “God, why?!?” but those challenging experiences are exactly what I need to become the Nikki God Himself has created me to be.”

Fast forward under my God tree yesterday, this message randomly showed up in a Purpose Driven Life Devotional For Kids:

“A mother eagle will take the nest of her young and stir it up. She will make them uncomfortable and miserable, then kick them out and force them to learn to fly—for their own good. GOD DOES THAT IN OUR LIVES: HE MAKES US UNCOMFORTABLE SOMETIMES BECAUSE HE WANTS US TO GROW. He will allow a problem, irritation, or frustration to push us toward what is best for us.”

And this was AGAIN God coming and having a face-to-face conversation with me about the irritations in my life that I allow to get the best of me. No coincidence!!! But today is a new day! God had so much to say to me under that tree yesterday that I felt so incredibly loved by Him. And being aware that His Presence is always with me gives me the joy and confidence to tackle all these situations that I go through with a God perspective. Yes, the problems, challenges, irritations are still there, but I get my advice from God on how to tackle them all, with Him backing me up by working on my behalf in the spiritual realm. When I am weak, He is my strength. I can therefore show up as my most joyful, brave, courageous, most loving, forgiving, excellent, shining bright for His glory self.

Are you feeling God’s Presence with you? Sometimes I ask myself if I waste time going to seek God under that tree every day, but I know without God as my life’s strong foundation, I would not be able to show up as the wife, mother, and person He would have me to be. With Him, I can calmly, happily, courageously, and skillfully deal with anything coming my way! Heehaw! Not one second seeking God has been a waste of time. I wouldn’t trade that knowledge of His constant Presence with me for all the money in the world! When are your alone times with Him? I promise you, as you seek Him, you will find Him! May we all live lives STRONG with God! Amen!
