WOW! WOW! WOW!

God shows me such deep, deep love!!! I grabbed my computer to tell you guys about a famous conference call I had with my husband and daughter a year and a half ago. Amazingly, on the computer’s screen, where I had last left off yesterday in finally working on my book, was where I wrote about this very conference call:

““DON’T GET DISTRACTED”

That was some excellent advice to me and the girls yesterday from our neighbor who invited us to church with her. On the drive there, I asked her about a little disagreement the girls and I were having about a football game that I said no to them going. She said the US is a country where it’s very easy to get distracted, but we must stay focused as to why we came here.

Later on that afternoon, I brought their dad into the conversation after I felt they were double-teaming me. We had a crucial family conference call with him in Nigeria and he explained that this separation is a big sacrifice for us and we set some ground rules to be followed in regards to social outings.”

Wow! I didn’t even have an appointment with God this morning because I excitedly wanted to tell you guys about this call. The girls had turned entirely against me saying I was treating them like prisoners, not allowing them to go out with friends, and I needed their dad to help back me up. He did!!!

So, for God to have this on my screen this morning, He wants me to talk about it, too, and how the relationship that the girls have with us as parents relates to our relationship with God. Many times I go crazy on God like my daughters went crazy on us, saying I disagreed with what He was asking me to do. I wanted to get angry and say whatever it is I wanted to say and do whatever it was I wanted to do, but I would feel Him in my spirit nudging me to be calm, peaceful, forgiving, gentle, going the extra mile in loyalty, love and staying on the high road with Him. He would tell me I can say anything I wanted to Him, but I should be silent to others -extremely hard for your girl over here!

Ember got great news this week about not only getting into the university she wanted to in New York, but also earning scholarships totally almost $30,000 per year. She now sees that the rules her dad and I had put in place were for her good, after all, not to harm her—same thing with me. The virtues God has taught me in my alone times with Him have paid off big time.

Are you getting to know God better? A relationship with Him may seem restrictive, not fun, boring, but it really is the opposite. My life with Him is a beautiful adventure. I get to live a very gorgeous life between the US and Nigeria, not knowing what to expect from moment to moment.

There is nothing better than going through life with God as your Companion and Partner. Knowing I handle nothing alone and that He is my protection and He is fighting battles on my behalf in the spiritual realm gives me such peace and joy in this cluttered, evil, and chaotic world.

And for this post to be on my screen this morning, was Him showing me His deep, deep love! It was no coincidence! It was Him letting me know His invisible Presence is always with me. Don’t miss out! Say this prayer with me, ‘God, I want a closer walk with You.’ Then start seeking Him, learning His values and the person He would have you to be. Trust me, He makes us BETTER!!!
