WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON HERE?!?

I asked myself when I started receiving all these letters in the mail. It was with news that seemed too good to be true. I kept saying I would call and find out why, but Ms. Procrastinator here never did. Then an email came with some more great news, and at the point, I had to call and see what was happening. I thought all these bad things that might have went wrong and how it would be so much trouble to rectify. Totally stressing out. But, I used the time on hold to have an appointment with God, and I read this:

“I no longer think worst-case scenarios, I think the best case.”

Suddenly I was reminded that I’m rolling with God, and with Him on my side I CAN THINK BEST CASE SCENARIOS IN EVERY ASPECT OF MY LIFE. Woohoo! Like 30 minutes later, a representative came on the phone and explained that everything was good and there was nothing to be concerned about. Phew! But that experience was such an essential reminder for everything I have going on at the moment – Nik, you’re trusting in God, remember! Like that post said, How God does what He does is NONE OF OUR BUSINESS!! Instead of worrying, I can use struggles as opportunities to TRUST GOD MORE. And He hasn’t let me down yet. People may disappoint us, but God doesn’t. He always EXCEEDS our expectations! Doesn’t He? Even when things don’t work out according to my plan, I’m OK, because God’s plans are far better. He knows the experiences I need to become the happy, joyful, peaceful, brave, courageous, loving, mature person He would have me to be. “My God may kill me, but yet I will trust Him.”

And He shows up in the sweetest ways. Like after writing in my last post, that I feel God lovingly says, “FORGET THE FORMER THINGS. I’M DOING A NEW THING!” I go into my office, and there has been a calendar on the wall for an entire year that has been stuck on the same August 2019. But yesterday, for some reason, I go to look at the other months, and for January, it incredibly said, “I AM MAKING EVERYTHING NEW.” Wink! Wink! Once again, everything lined up a little bit too perfect to be some ordinary coincident. It was God’s loving way of reminding me that HIS invisible Presence is always with me. This gives me even more confidence to always expect BEST CASE Scenarios – MY GOD IS WITH ME.

I’m claiming that message for us all – God is making everything new! Let’s keep our eyes fixed on Him as we do our best in the physical realm while we trust God is working in the spiritual realm on our behalf. How He does what He does is NONE OF OUR BUSINESS. Wink! Wink! My hope is in God, baby!!!

TASTE AND SEE THAT THE LORD IS GOOD, BABY

That’s my testimony! Like yesterday was such a down day for me. I couldn’t wait to finally get to bed and hang out with God for on our family’s website, werollwithgod.com. That’s where I go to rest on His chest for a little bit when the world gets a little bit too much for me.

I ended up rereading an old post about the song ‘My Hitta’ that was a God wink months ago. Around 2 am, I had debated with my husband as to which one was better, LOVE OR LOYALTY. After another call later on that morning, though, I said to him, “This wife LOVES AND IS LOYAL to you. Ride or die chick forever!’ I go to turn on some music on my speaker minutes after that last conversation with him, and astonishingly this was the song playing, and it said, “I have two words for you: LOVE AND LOYALTY (Wink! Wink!)”

But here’s the sweetness of God. Can you believe my daughter comes into our bathroom playing some loud music (takes after her mom!), puts her phone on shuffle, allowing God to be her DJ, and of all the songs in the world, she ended up playing this very song, ‘My Hitta’ that I had just read about minutes before. No coincidence! This was AGAIN God’s loving way of revealing His invisible Presence with us.

And that’s the love I want us going through life COURAGEOUSLY with, not trying to get our love and approval from other people who can flip flop and change on us from one moment to the next. I want us getting so close to God, that even when others hurt or reject us, we can shake off the disappointments and keep our eyes on HIM being the loving and forgiving people He would have us to be AS WELL AS SUCKING IN ALL OF HIS LOVE AND APPROVAL.

And not be too hard on ourselves, either. To love and forgive ourselves when we’re not the people we would like to be. I had such a great run with Coach Cory from the Nike Running Clup app who reminded me that every run I’m getting a little bit better, as I aim to work on some negative struggles pulling me down. I needed that reminder. I took it as another message from God to the Nik here who is always beating up herself.

Every day we get to do a reset and begin again knowing we have God helping us to become the best versions of ourselves. No judgment. No condemnation. No guilt. He lovingly says, “FORGET THE FORMER THINGS. I’M DOING A NEW THING!” His love is not like any human love, its unconditional, and everlasting. But don’t take my word for it! Say this prayer with me, ‘God, I would like a closer walk with You.’ Amen.

“STRONG AND SOFT”

That’s the name of our bath tissue and EXACTLY where I am in my life at this moment! LOL! You need to be both! Away from overprotective hubby, and having to take control managing our business here in Florida without him, your girl here is learning to be strong, brave, courageous, bold, unflinching, tough, determined, and fearless. On the other side, God is also teaching me these SOFT qualities:

“But the Spirit produces the fruit of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. There is no law that says these things are wrong.” – Galatians 5:22-24

He also sweetly gives the wisdom as to when to be what! Every relationship. Every decision. Every circumstance. I aim to look to God, continually asking, ‘What would You have me to do here? Where would You have me to go? What would You have me to say?’ And step by step, I joyfully follow His lead knowing His invisible Presence is always with me.

Even in a run yesterday, He amazingly showed up. I enjoyed listening to Charlie Rocket in the Nike Running Club app, so much that I paused my music playing in the background. When Charlie spoke of his affiliation with Nike and wanting to inspire a million people, he got my attention. I started dreaming big too about working with Nike. ‘Nike, Nikki. Nike Nikki. I like the sound of that! I could inspire people as they run about having a strong relationship with God. I need to become a partner with Nike too!’ I started thinking. Hey, a girl can dream!

Immediately after having these thoughts, and Charlie had stopped talking, I resumed my music, only to hear Drake say, “Nike.” I thought, ‘Did Drake just say Nike?’ I rushed to see the song lyrics, and can you believe he did say, “Nike, crossbody, got a piece in it.” I freaked out because I knew this was no coincidence, but God’s sweetness revealing His Presence with me. I mean down to the nanosecond, He had me to resume playing that song exactly for Drake to say Nike!

Like my sister in law, Aima, said to me yesterday, “God knows the moment I was conceived, and the moment I will die. My life is in His hands.” And he had me to pause that song and restart it precisely when Drake said that “Nike” just to remind us all that He has all of our lives all timed out, too, down to the seconds!

Incredible His love is for us! Don’t miss out! Remember: Every relationship, Every decision. Every circumstance. Let’s go to God as He leads us on the paths to the best lives with Him. No matter the troublesome situations that come our way, our God is GREATER than anything we will ever face! We can be joyful and at peace, doing our best and leaving the rest with Him to tackle in the spiritual realm! Wink! Wink!

“HELLO, CAN YOU HELP ME?”

That was the question that started a fantastic chat between me and someone contacting me from Bangladesh yesterday. He crucially asked, “How do you talk to God in this life? And to be honest with you guys, my entire life is becoming a pretty cool conversation between God and me. Like the HUGE decision to leave my husband and two sons in Nigeria to live in the US with my two daughters so that they could finish high school here. Let me tell ya, that was a whole lotta talking with God asking if we should go, and He lovingly directed us step by step.

Like one day, we called the school through the Bluetooth connection in a truck we were driving to make some inquiries. Right after that, we go to play some music on my phone, and the very first song we randomly selected mentioned the name of the school. God is our DJ!!! My daughters and I took this as no coincidence. How could the name of the school show up in a song from my library of over 800? We took this as a God wink! The sweetness of God!

Then there was a Sunday where we had our brunch reading from The Purpose Driven Life Devotional for Kids, asking and praying to God to direct us on this super tough decision. We arbitrarily picked days from this 366 devotional, and this one showed up entitled, ‘Time To Fly:’

“A mother eagle will take the nest of her young and stir it up. She will make them uncomfortable and miserable and force them to learn how to fly—for their own good… When we become motivated to let God do something in our lives, then he pushes us out of the nest so we can learn to fly…Prayer: Help me to trust that you will take care of me.”

Again, no coincidence, all God saying that it was time for the girls to leave the very comfortable nest in Nigeria, and learn how to fly, knowing that He would be the One to take care of them. Wink! Wink!

He also confirmed it when another Sunday my husband worried about our security without him around. God again answered us through the kid’s devotional when my son selected a number (again out of 366) only to read the day entitled, “Wherever We God, God Goes.’ It said, “The Lord is strong enough to keep us safe. Prayer: Thank you that you are stronger and bigger than any trouble.”

Then there was an old friend who had traveled in from the US who showed up to one of our office’s BBQ. He personally went to battle my husband, who wasn’t finding it funny that half of his family wanted to leave him. He spent hours convincing him that if he wanted what was best for his daughters, he had to let them go. That did the trick, and hubs finally agreed. It’s a HUGE sacrifice for our daughters (appreciate you, my boo!), but it’s been totally worth it. They were ready to fly! Let’s keep going higher, by God’s grace, my fierce family!

HERE’S THE DEAL: God is quite talkative! Don’t miss out on the conversation He wants to have with you!
