“…You don’ agree with many of my decisions, but yet I’m the most successful person you know?” That was me having some fun with my daughter, Julie, last night. We were having a special dinner at Chilli’s, and I was asking her and my other daughter, Ember, some conversation questions and this one I especially enjoyed:
“How should success be measured? And by that measurement, who is the most successful person you know?” – conversationstartersworld.com
Both of my daughters said that I’m the most successful person they know based on success being measured by characteristics such as peace, joy, following God’s will, and living a life of purpose. Woohoo!!! They especially love how despite people thinking I go a little bit overboard with my God stuff, I still follow my heart no matter what anyone else thinks of me. I told them I love being the crazy God lady because normal is boring. I do me, and doing me as led my life on an extraordinary path and a pretty great life.
Honestly, I was so thrilled hearing this from these daughters who are forever telling me that they don’t agree with my choices. Now they get to put it all in the proper perspective – these choices have been what have gotten me here to this life what they consider successful. And it’s because I have made God my Life Partner. He is my number one priority and focus. I go to Him in the 1,000 decisions I make every day asking what He would have me to do. I follow His will, seeking to be obedient to Him, and He truly gives me more than I can ever imagine or expect. I pretend that there is a wooden bar (a yoke) connecting me with God as I go through life with Him. I take on the lighter parts and I hand the difficult parts over to God. His ways are not our ordinary human ways, they’re so much better!!! Don’t miss out!
“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” – John 14:27
“WHAT HAVE I DONE TO DESERVE THE KINDNESS OF MY GOD?”
That was me thanking and kissing my daughter, Ember, last night. She had cooked me the most delicious curry chicken ever, and I was eating it and thanking God for the beautiful life He has guided me to with even this excellent and outstanding sweetie who cooks for me (forget spoilt kids, I’m the spoilt mama!). Fast forward about an hour or so later, I went to have an appointment with God reading the new manuscript that I’m currently compiling with my old posts. I used the scroll key on the side, randomly asking God what He had to say to me, and I went directly to a post entitled:
“WHAT HAVE I DONE TO DESERVE THE KINDNESS OF MY GOD?” Wink! Wink!
How could the very question I just asked Ember minutes before this show up so perfectly? It was one of my God winks where everything lines up a little bit too perfectly to be some ordinary coincident. It was Him revealing His invisible Presence with me. Earlier that day, I had run for 90 minutes with Him under my 47 trees, and whenever I circled around, I touched that last tree with both of my hands saying, “We’re together! We’re together! We’re together!” And this, question showing up, out of the blue like that, was Him sweetly saying back to me, ‘Nik, We’re together! We’re together! We’re together!’ HUGE SMILE!
“Wouldn’t you be embarrassed to wear that shirt because people may think you’re crazy for being associated with God?” was the question from my nephew, Duro, a little while ago. He gave me a gift of a t-shirt with “We Roll With God” printed on it and I was telling him how proud I would be to wear it. I asked him, “Can you think of anybody or BEING better to be associated with? It’s my honor to be considered a friend of God, and He said to me one day in an appointment that it would be His honor if I’m considered a friend of His.”
So, that’s where I want us all, proud ambassadors of God. Let’s make Him proud by being the people He would have us to be in every moment. 24 hours a day, seven days a week, His invisible Presence is with us. He knows EVERYTHING about us, including every thought we think. I’ve made Him my life Partner. He’s my number one priority and focus. And having Him as my number one is what has brought me to this beautiful life where I can ask,
“WHAT HAVE I DONE TO DESERVE THE KINDNESS OF MY GOD?”
And I want you here, too! Today I have both of my daughters hanging out running around with me and it is my honor being their momma – they’re making us super proud. All glory goes to God for His advice in helping us in every aspect of our lives!

“YOU CAN COUNT ON ME; I’LL BE THERE AS YOUR FRIEND”
Those were the lyrics I felt God singing to me some weeks ago through the reggae artist, Sanchez, and let me tell ya, yesterday He proved that I really can count on Him. I’m in the used car sales business, and despite having met all the conditions for approval with a bank for a customer, at the very last minute, the bank backed out of the deal. I need this bank, so all I could do was to try an alternative loan source, but after no luck, I had to take back the vehicle and return their money. Only thing was, they INSISTED on cashback and I had forgotten that due to COVID, the banks closed earlier on Saturdays. The very politely told me, ‘Sorry, Nikki, but if you don’t give me cash back, I will call the police.”
To avoid trouble and for the police not to come, I made a few phone calls, but everyone was out of town. I then go to the bank to get as much cash out of the ATM, and exactly where I parked, was a sign saying, “tow ZONE,” exactly as the song I was playing said something like, “in the ZONE” (Wink! Wink!). I laughed with God because I knew this was not some ordinary coincidence, it was His fun and sweet way of letting me know that His invisible Presence was there with me in this troublesome situation.
Getting back to the office, I counted all the cash I had between my purse and the office’s little petty cash, and was short precisely $25. I asked my assistant, Martha, if she had any money on her, and she pulled out her wallet, unbelievably EXACTLY $25, the only cash she had. Another God wink with Him saying, ‘Nik, I’m with you!’ That again lined up too perfectly to be coincident!
Then the app that customers agreed I could pay them the additional money through, they changed their minds and didn’t want it that way anymore. I said, ‘I’ll give you a company check for the difference.” Their reply was once again, “Sorry, Nikki, but if you don’t give me cash back, I will call the police.” Oh my goodness!
I came up with another idea and they agreed that I could do transfers to their account. Julie, Ember and Duro quickly helped me out because of daily transfer limits and just like that, the problem was resolved, no police involvement with God again proving that I can count on Him.
Our signs all over our business say, “In God we trust,” and I feel that we must conduct ourselves honoring Him. The wife sent me this text after they had left:
“Thank you for everything, and God bless you, your family, and your business.” I wished her the same.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight.” – Proverbs 3:5-6
That was me to my two fantastic daughters, Julie and Ember, this morning. We had planned to go shopping, but our fav store closed on us early, and we ended up eating the best French fries ever at I Heart Fries. I asked our conversation questions as we laughed and enjoyed each other, and I was reminded of how blessed I am not just to have two daughters, but two awesome friends (HUGE SMILE). Our fierce babes’ alliance remains strong where we not only take away strengths from each other (iron sharpens iron, baby!), but we continuously work on our weaknesses as well. Like Julie told me this week that I’m very inconsiderate sometimes (ouch!) and when I thought about it, she was right, I can be gentler and more loving in my speech and actions. Thanks, boo! Constant improvement!
Right before that, though, I had the sweetest God wink! Yesterday, I went to my old Facebook page to select a photo to reshare. Of all the pics, I selected one that said, “You are NOT ALONE; You have God.” Fast forward to that evening, we were in a parking lot waiting on someone, and I said let me have a quick appointment with God,and of all my meditation books, and of all pages, look what showed up as if He was speaking directly to me:
“Never alone; you know that.” – He and I
Once again that His sweet way of reminding me that HE IS ALWAYS WITH ME. The book continued:
“Then let it be a source of strength to you. Strength to speak to Me, since I am there. Strength to act, since I can help you, particularly when you speak to others. Ask Me to speak through you. Never alone! What a joy for you! Could you ever thank Me enough?” – He and I
Never! Every night, I get on my knees to say, “God, Thank You! Thank You! Thank You!” Through the good, bad and ugly, I see everything is all from the hands of an extremely LOVING God who knows exactly the experiences we need to become our best selves.
HOW DO I TELL MY HUSBAND THAT HIS VICE-PRESIDENT WIFE LOST A CAR?
That was me recently after a customer took off with a vehicle, moved from the address she gave us, and hid our car! But no problem, we have God on our side. I woke up one morning with this heavy burden on my head and immediately went to an appointment with God. The word from Him was at the end of a post I read from my own book: ‘Keep Calm, You’re Rolling With God.’ Wink! Wink!
It was a thought that came to mind to call an investigator who helped us with a similar situation some years ago. Thank God, our assistant, Martha, kept his business card, and within less than 48 hours of calling him, we had the car located and back with us. See how God brought to memory that gentleman and had Martha to keep his business car from so many years ago – Don’t play with God! His Spirit is with us, for us, and He is on our side, baby!
But when I got a call from my office asking how much we would charge her to get her stuff out of the car, I replied, “Zero. Give her her things.” When they asked me why, I shared the message we sent out by text to our customers yesterday in Nigeria:
“Vengeance is Mine; I will repay, says the Lord.” But if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him a drink.” – Romans 12:19-20
Do not seek revenge, leave everyone with God. As we stand still, doing our best in the physical realm, God is at work in the spiritual realm on our behalf. Wink! Wink! See how quickly he found that car for His girl here!
This gives me the confidence to tell you, “You are not alone, you have God.” I’m taking so many lessons from this whole car disappearing situation:
– Have constant, constant, constant conversations with God about everything, listening and paying attention to His communications with us. The feelings of doubt I felt before releasing this vehicle to her was God saying, ‘Nik, don’t.’ I ignored those feelings and paid the price.
– KEEP CALM, YOU’RE ROLLING WITH GOD. We’ll still have problems and challenges like everyone else, but God is available to help guide us through any troublesome situation when we invite Him to be a part of our lives
– Pray, do your best, and let God worry about how everything will be handled
– Don’t repay evil with evil; overcome evil with good. EVERYTHING IS BETWEEN US AND GOD!
