That was surprisingly from Joyce Meyers yesterday when my Wayne Dyer podcast glitched, and suddenly her podcast played with those words. The crazy thing was that I was telling someone a few hours prior that we must be very persistent. I told them we have to be like my son, Joshie, who asks the same question repeatedly until he finally gets his way. We were discussing a matter that he thought there was no way it would happen, and I said, “We do our best (being very persistent!) and leave the rest with God.” So, I took this for sure as one of my God winks, where out of the blue, everything lines a little bit too perfect and God letting me know that He approved of my persistence – “GOD LOVES SOMEBODY WHO IS PERSISTENT” That gave me such confidence to move forward CONFIDENTLY with this situation knowing God Himself was backing me up. And He did!!!
“I will help you,” has been God’s promise to me in regards to every area of my life, and he hasn’t disappointed me yet. That’s why I’m annoyingly persistent in telling you guys, “Don’t miss out on a life close to God!” I don’t promise an easy life, but I do promise a life with God standing with you through the ups and downs. It’s just up to us to invite Him in and make Him our Guide and Coach on this adventure we call life. Walk with Him, and He will show you the best way to go. He is an expert in everything – finances, relationships, health, whatever you need help in – He is the best at it!
It’s crazy how He’s so involved, though! Like even on Sunday, I got a chance to sleep late, and my daughter, Julie, comes in our bedroom saying, “Come on, we’re going for a run right now!” She was wearing some gray tights that I complimented her on, but she changed into a set of purple ones right after our talk. Fast forward to after our run, her dad insists that she goes to the store with me. She tried getting out of it by saying she didn’t have a mask. I said, “Don’t worry, I have a brand-new mask for you.” Can you believe the mask matched perfectly with her purple tights and black shirt she had on? This mask that I got a couple of days before from a pizza place. We both thought this lined up too perfectly to be some ordinary coincidence, but God’s way of letting us both know that His invisible Presence was with us. That He knows every move we make even before we make it! Such love and attention we both felt. I had even given out all my disposable masks, so this pizza mask was all I had to give her, only for God to reveal His Presence. Will you invite Him in as your life Partner? God, I want to roll with You! Amen!

“I’M GOING TO ABANDON YOU GUYS!!!”
That was my wonderful hubby threatening us the other day! And, boy oh boy, I was furious because he kept repeating it that he would ABANDON us if we didn’t go along with him in a particular decision. But, let me tell ya, God is so involved in the details of my life because that very morning, for my appointment with Him, He reminded me of such crucial values that He has been training me on this year:
– Loving everyone for both their strengths and their weaknesses
– To focus on what’s excellent, true, noble, and praiseworthy
– To be faithful, loyal, dependable, and trustworthy, no matter what anyone else was doing
– Forgiveness
– To be on chill (not taking anything too seriously)
– Patience
– Gentleness
– Be still and know that I am your God
Right after our fight, I went for a run with God. And like my brother said, these runs are where I get clarity and wisdom from God as to what He would have me to do. There I was venting to God, but the feeling from Him was that He wanted me to be silent and forgive hubs for his tongue that is like a razor at times. I said, ‘Ok, Boss!’ Then, a truck drove by with a license plate with one word on it: HUG. That was a wink from God because that’s our little code word for when I get in my crazy mode. I imagine God is hugging me! That HUG melted away all my frustrations!
“You owe us an apology!” I jokingly said to hubby when I got back. That was my way of making peace, giving him a kiss and a hug and telling him he is still the world’s best husband (he really is!). But God had something He wanted to say to me after hubby kept saying he was going to ABANDON us. This showed up at the end of a blog from a friend Charles who I haven’t heard from in years:
“The Bible says, “God has said, I will never leave you; I will never ABANDON (Wink! Wink!) you.”
This lined up too perfectly to be some ordinary coincidence! It was God again revealing His invisible Presence with me even in the messiest of details. I promise you guys; it has been years since I’ve heard the person sending me that message. All perfectly timed by God to let me know He will never leave or abandon me! With such love from God, I even feel more love and committed to my hubby. Go figure! God increases my capacity to love and forgive, feeling so loved by Him no matter how many times I mess up.
I feel the purpose of life is to learn God’s voice and RIDE with Him on the best life adventure ever! Things won’t always be pretty and perfect, but I do promise a life of peace, love, joy, and strength that will help you go through anything. Will you commit to RIDING WITH GOD? To make Him the center of all your decisions as you journey through life with Him as your Partner and Guide.

“I’M GOING TO LAY UNDER THE TREE AS YOU GUYS’ CHRISTMAS GIFT!”
That was my joke to my family that they didn’t find at all funny! Ember asked if I came with a receipt so that she could return me. Haha! But this year has taught me that it’s not what’s under the tree, it’s more important as to who surrounds the tree. And being here surrounded by my family has been a huge blessing. Everyone healthy, happy, and together. To God be the glory!
“Wealth Cannot Buy Happiness,” was the title of a Bible passage I just randomly selected and I’m taking it as a huge God wink at us all. Loving relationships, fulfillment, good health, peace of mind, joy, God’s protection, favor, guidance, and wisdom are what I want us shooting for, looking to God in every moment as to what He would have us to do.
I loved a conversation with my brother, Kevin, yesterday. He gave great advice, as usual, encouraging me to PAUSE before saying, or doing anything. He wants me working on being WISER and that means looking to God more asking what He would have me do seeking to be more loving, forgiving, peaceful, excellent, gentle, yet brave, courageous, and strong.
God gives me so much courage! I love a wink from Him today when I encouraged my daughter, Julie, in a pep talk saying we MUST learn to LEAN on God. I explained to her that people are weak, struggling with their own demons and if you lean too much on them, they can easily disappoint you. I said, “I want you working hard to stand strong on your own, LEANING ON GOD, holding others in their proper perspective. Fast forward to 20 minutes later, before beginning my run, I needed an appointment with God (life gets rough!) and this surprisingly showed up from where I had last continued reading from:
“LEARN TO LEAN ON ME (GOD) more and more.” Wink! Wink!
That again lined up too perfectly to be some ordinary coincidence; It was God revealing His invisible Presence with me and my daughter. ‘Nik, I’m always with you!’ He seems to lovingly say. And I want us all LEANING on God more than ever. Pausing and going to Him in every moment seeking His wisdom, love, and strength to get through any situation that comes our way. Heehaw!

“LET’S DO HARD THINGS THIS YEAR FOR GOD”
That’s the text message I sent to my daughters back in January when I ran two and a half miles to Starbucks. Minutes after sending that text, God got in our conversation when Coach Bennet, on the Nike Running Club app, surprisingly said something like, “This isn’t about learning to run hard. This is about learning to do hard things in your life.” Wink! Wink!
But, boy oh boy, we had no idea how HARD this year would be! I remember laughing with God, ‘I didn’t mean this hard!!!’ But looking back over the entire year, I’m thankful for the difficult experiences that had me RUNNING to God, looking for His help and support.
“The LORD will perfect that which concerns me;”
I’m a first-hand witness to God’s love and loyalty. No matter how many times I fell and failed, He would find some way to let me know that His invisible Presence was there with me. His love will help me back up and bring me closer to Him. There were some difficult lessons He wanted me to learn and pass on to you guys:
“You can’t beat God’s school of HARD LESSONS! It’s a constant struggle and a strong fight to be this person who I know He is calling me to be, but that’s the challenge for us all: For God to be the Guide of our hearts and to make some super tough decisions from His GOD IS LOVE perspective. He wants to remove the weeds from our hearts like bitterness, envy, jealousy, hate, greed, selfishness, temptations, evil thoughts, anger, doing and saying hurtful things and replace them with mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience bearing with and forgiving each other, clothing ourselves ALWAYS in love. Phew! Did you get that?
That means holding back some words, forgiving some hurts, sometimes pretending to be deaf, dumb and blind when need be, NOT GIVING UP, and be the awesome, loving people seeking to please God in everything we say, everything we do and everywhere we go. We have to keep our eyes fixed on God seeking His guidance on a moment-by-moment basis. Of course, we’re not going to get it right all the time, but we keep striving to improve – constant and never-ending improvement. And if you fall a million times, you get up a million and one!
OUR REWARD IS WITH GOD! Honestly, on my run yesterday with Him, I was amazed at the difference in myself from just a few months ago to now. God has enormously helped me! Don’t miss out on a life close to God!

WE ALL SLEPT UNDER THE SAME ROOF
My hubby, kids, and my 88-year-old momma, that is! Glory be to God! It has been a HARD year, but God has wonderfully guided us, and I’m incredibly grateful. As I type this, everyone is out shopping for a Christmas tree that Julie and Joshie have been lobbying to get. I just want new running clothes for my jogs with God where I get His clarity, direction, and wisdom for tackling the dilemmas and challenges that show up. No shame in my game, I also touch the last of my 47 trees that God had lined up for my 47th birthday to run under. I say to Him, ‘WE’RE TOGETHER. WE’RE TOGETHER. WE’RE TOGETHER.” And no, Julie, I don’t at all look crazy doing that! (SMILE)
Is God the Guide of your life? I can’t imagine my life without Him! He gives me such peace, knowing I’m not going through life alone. I can just show up as my best, most loving, and joyful self in every moment, KNOWING that God is in the background helping me. That means holding His hand super tight, doing my best, and trusting Him with the rest. I can never have control over my life circumstances, but I can trust that God is in full and total control of everything and everyone. That’s FAITH, baby!
It’s a practical experience of learning to listen to Him, though, where we can automatically discern what He would have us to do. “My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.” You learn His voice by following those strong feelings/nudges that tell you this is the way to go. It may make no sense to you, just a feeling. You follow it. Test it out. If it works out, then you’re learning God’s voice. Like sometimes we do something, and when it doesn’t work out, we say something like, ‘My mind told me not to do that.’ That was God warning you ahead of time NOT to go in that direction! Doubt means don’t! God always gives a firm “YES” in our spirit to go a particular way.
Then, importantly, we need the INVALUABLE appointments with Him where we read or listen to anything spiritual that helps us learn God’s character and the person He is calling us to be when we’re back out in the world. This year was Him teaching me these qualities:
But the Spirit produces the fruit of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. There is no law that says these things are wrong. – Galatians 5:22-23
These values are working for me! That’s why it is my joy to tell you that you don’t go wrong with God. His ways are not our ordinary human ways, they’re so much better. Make God a top priority by seeking to include Him in every decision you make. He has exceeded my expectations in every aspect of my life! Don’t miss out on rolling with God on the daily, ENJOYING your life with Him!
That was my WhatsApp message to my siblings yesterday. To become better, we must address our weaknesses, and I know I have some evil demons within me that are always trying to get the best of me, but I’m fighting them. They go as far as waking me up in the middle of the night, with some awful thoughts about what I should do, and I have to say, ‘No, devil, get away from me!!!’ ALL day long I’m in a war with them, striving to be the Nikki God Himself would have me to be in every moment, glorifying Him. Let me tell ya; THIS IS NOT EASY!!! I still get it wrong, LOTS, and that’s OK, because I get knocked down PLENTY, but I get back up with a renewed commitment to bounce back even STRONGER AND BETTER than ever before. Heehaw!
Yesterday when I felt them telling me to turn into the crazy lady, I instead went running to God for an appointment with Him. This showing up after my conversation with my siblings a few hours prior, was no coincident:
“Heavenly Father, I know that I am in battle against a supernatural force of evil, and the only way I can be triumphant in this battle is through an even more powerful force. I know that you are that force. Thank you for giving me the wisdom, courage, and strength to be your hands and feet in this world. Thank you for the opportunity to stand between oppression and freedom. Today, I cast down every fear, every thought that doesn’t align with your Word. I ask you today to give me the discernment to identify the strategies of the enemy and the wisdom to respond. Grant me the courage to act based on my training, preparation, and level of skill. In Jesus’ Holy Name I pray. Amen.” – Lt. Col. Dave Grossman
I knew this was another direct message from God, reminding me that He is that powerful force helping to fight off the demons. In that awful moment, He gave me the wisdom, courage, and strength to resist the devil, and I’m so much happier for it. So much so that I even responded to an email first thing this morning that I’ve been procrastinating about sending. I’m embarrassed about the way I’ve been lately, but I’m using the humiliations to be better, by God’s grace. I’m thankful to be able to look into myself and see where I can improve.
God went even as far as confirming that this was indeed a message from Him when He drew my attention to a huge truck passing on the highway with the word “TRIUMF” big and boldly printed across it. That was a God wink saying, ‘Nik, you will be victorious in this battle!!!’ Such love I receive from Him that I can respond to the devil’s tricks and schemes from His loving, Almighty perspective, KNOWING HIS LOVE WILL NEVER FAIL ME. I claim that for us all!!! Remember, everything we do is between God and us, not between us and anyone else! Do your best and leave the rest with God! Wink! Wink!

“NOT EVERYONE IS AS STRONG AS YOU, MS. NIKKI”
That was from my sweetie daughter, Julie, yesterday. I used the conversation as an opportunity to share with her some of my weaknesses (mostly depressing and negative thinking) and how I’ve found that I must be a very regimented person to tackle them. I’m talking appointments with God every morning, writing posts, going for a run with God, drinking my awful tasting smoothie, fasting (leaning on God), eating healthily, continually running to God throughout the day to hear from Him. NO SHAME IN MY GAME; GOD, I NEED YOU!!!
I told her how this year has been what I describe as a year of a million falls, but God has helped me to get back up a million and one. I was so happy that God AGAIN got involved in our conversation when this post showed up at my 10:30 appointment with God, and I read page 30 of our family’s website, werollwithgod.com about one of my falls:
“In that video, I talked all about the appointments with the boys and how we read that God delights in every detail of our lives. Well, fast forward a few hours, WHEN I GOT KNOCKED DOWN AND WENT CRYING TO GOD, unbelievably this showed up from exactly where I had last left off in the book ‘He and I’, written as if God was speaking:
“I’m guiding every detail of your life.” (Wink! Wink!)…
“Thus begins your journey of profound reliance on Me. It is a faith-walk, taken one step at a time, leaning on Me, as much as you need. This is not a path of continual success, BUT OF MULTIPLE FAILURES. However, each failure is followed by a growth spurt, nourished by increased reliance on Me. Enjoy the blessedness of a victorious life through deepening your dependence on Me… The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” – Jesus Calling”
Who would have thought my constant falls would be such an important life lesson to share with my daughters and you guys? I can boast of my weaknesses; God uses them for my good! THE MULTIPLE FAILURES TAUGHT ME TO RELY EVEN MORE ON GOD. Sweet! This life is rigged to get us down, but God has truly been my GREATEST friend. He is available 24/7 to assist us. As you seek Him, you will find Him! Wink! Wink! Learn more at WEROLLWITHGOD.COM.
“THIS VOICE IN MY HEAD GUIDED ME TO THE SPOT WHERE I AM TODAY” (REPOST)
That’s from my guy, David Goggins, talking about God. Call us both crazy, but that same voice has led my life on a stunning path. So much so that I even questioned Him yesterday, ‘Why do you care so much about my family and me?’ This was after I KNOW without a doubt that He had me to go to a special bakery on Saturday to receive some important messages on the wall there:
Practice Patience – Peace – Forgiveness – Gratitude – Courage – Hope – Let your smile change the world – Love is an act – Joy – Inspire
He put me there to tell you a story. That I went into that bakery feeling broken down, depressed, disappointed, and hurt, but I came out God’s little superhero with an important message: FIGHT FOR YOUR FAMILY. DON’T GIVE UP.
Our families are extremely significant to God. On Sunday, that Voice (God) said I should run 10 miles. It took me three hours to finish, but I did. I asked Him where I should run, and He led me to a running path close to our home, right next to a church. The name of the church is Calvary, and that again was an important message to me from Him. Calvary was where they crucified Jesus, and that very morning, God had me to reshare an old post where I wrote:
“And let’s not forget the sufferings we have to endure, tolerate, and deal with on a daily (the thorns of our lives). We can joyously offer them to God as our gifts to Him as a sacrifice for all that He does for us. LET’S CONTINUE CARRYING THE CROSS FROM JESUS. God will be our joy and our strength as we seek to be the loving and forgiving people He would have us to be. Our reward is with Him!”
That Calvary church that I ran repeatedly pass in that three-hour run is to tell you guys that we’re to continue carrying Jesus’ cross, especially in our homes. I know it’s hard, but it’s our gift to God who does so much for us. When we are weak, He will be our strength.
Yesterday, it was such an honor and privilege to have our daughter, Ember, work with me. She’s such a faithful soul. We didn’t get home until almost 9 pm, but it was a great day seeing God’s FAVOR in action; He exceeds our expectations. THE LORD IS OUR SHEPHERD!

EVEN IN MY WORST YEAR, I’M GONNA BE KILLIN’ IT!!!
I’m back on my 50 days of discipline, baby! I MUST LEAVE MY COMFORT ZONE AND BECOME GREATER, as the old NIK SAYS, “BYE BYE!” Working on being more joyful, peaceful, lovng, hard working, focused, braver, more courageous, bolder, and MOST CRUCALLY, CLOSER TO GOD.
The fasting is back from 10am to 5pm where I get to LEAN more on God for His strength when I am weak, with a constant reminder that WE’RE TOGETHER, WE’RE TOGETHER, WE’RE TOGETHER no matter what this life throws my way! Amen!
“LET FOOD BE THY MEDICINE AND MEDICINE THY FOOD”
‘GOD, I NEED YOU’
That was my prayer to Him yesterday when I was feeling a bit overwhelmed and overburdened. Can you believe He figured out a sweet way to let me know that His Presence is always with me.
I was so thrilled that my daughter, Ember, joined me on my morning run. The first song that played from my God’s Girl playlist was ‘Dior’ by Pop Smoke. I showed it to Ember trying to get her to listen to it with me but she was not feeling my music today. She started out together but she quickly out ran me and left me behind. I ended up taking my slow time back and decided to sit outside to have an appointment with God for a bit. She called checking on me (she does love me!) and came to open our front door so that I could come in. Unbelievable, as I came in, my mom is watching one of her judge paternity show and the name of the baby was, out of all names in the world, ‘Dior.’ That lines up too perfectly to be a regular coincidence. It was God saying, Nik, I’m with you on a run with your daughter. I’m with you in your home with your mother. I AM aware of everything about you and I AM ALWAYS with you!’
I’ll never get over these perfect alignments. Like why would God, the Creator of the entire universe care to reveal His invisible Presence with me? I had just read this old post in that appointment with God:
“SAY, “HI, GOD!!!””
“Hi, God.” That was the cute little conversation I had with my sons as we waited for hubby IN OUR CAR yesterday evening. One asked, “Is God really here? Where is He?” I answered, “God is everywhere, and He is always with us.” “Will God answer us back?” another asked. “Sometimes He does,” I replied. Can you believe God did answer?!? He figured out a way to let me know that His Presence was INDEED with us IN THAT CAR.
Fast forward a few hours, I’m in bed trying to sleep. But because my body clock still has not adjusted to the Nigerian time zone, I couldn’t. I then decided to listen to Rich Roll’s podcast, but for some reason it refused to play. I then go to listen to Bel Air’s Church’s, and boom, it surprisingly worked. However, the one that played, I ended up changing to play another episode. Listen to what the Pastor unbelievably says a couple of minutes into that other sermon:
“We CAN imagine that God is in the same room OR THE SAME CAR WITH US…” Wink! Wink!
Again, for that to line up sooooo perfectly, out of the blue, like that, was no ordinary coincident. It was God revealing His invisible Presence that’s ALWAYS with us. Of all the podcasts I could have listened to, for Rich Roll’s one to refuse to play, and for me to listen to THAT specific one after my sons wanted to know if God was really in that vehicle, was another one of my God winks, with Him sweetly answering, “Yes, I was there IN THAT CAR WITH YOU.”
And this is the love I’ve gotten to KNOW from God. He stoops down and comes to our level and our little lives to let us know that He’s REALLY there. Right after that, I smiled with Him, and I drifted happily off to sleep.
Are you getting to know God’s voice and His communications with you? You see that smile on my face in this pic? No fake smile over here! This is the smile of someone with REAL joy who KNOWS she’s incredibly loved by her God/Heavenly Father. I USED to be STARVING for the love and affection from others. No more! His joy. His love. His peace. EQUALS MORE THAN ENOUGH. God, fill our lives with even more of Your Presence. Amen.
