That was my son, Siah, to me today when I told him MY HUGE GOD WINK! This one started years ago with me feeling like Justin Bieber is one of my messengers from God. Like God speaks DIRECTLY to me through Justin. In fact, his last album, Changes, was God dictating to him PRECISELY what He wanted to say to me. I told everyone who would listen that the entire album ‘Changes’ was God’s love song to me, and me singing back to Him. People probably thought I had really lost my mind, but God went as far as confirming that YES, NIK, THIS ALBUM IS MY LOVE SONG TO YOU!!!! Here’s how: (DRUM ROLL, PLEASE!!!)
Justin has announced that he will be performing live, the album ‘Changes’ in our city, Miami, ON MY BIRTHDAY, July 31, from 7 to 11 pm. And you guys know that whenever I see 7 and 11 together, it’s my wink from God that His invisible Presence is there with me. No doubt whatsoever, GOD ARRANGED ALL THIS FOR ME!!! I told ya, I’m His fav girl, baby!
“Give me an example of how God speaks to you through Justin Bieber?” Siah questioned me. I told him about the song, ‘That’s What Love Is,’ and the lyrics say, ‘Never understood what it meant… It meant to submit to love.. Till You put it in perspective.’ I told Siah about how I was boiling angry with his dad today (this marriage thing is not easy!), and I wanted to turn into a crazy lady, but with one glance at God, I knew what He would have me to do: Nik, vent anything to me, but to others learn to be silent. I had to zip it up and stay on the high road with God – I submitted/humbled myself to God’s love seeking to make Him happy. Looking at everything from a God perspective who does so much for me (even arranging an entire Justin Bieber concert), I asked what would make Him happy, and I did that.
“You teach me patience,” the song also says! And that’s the HARD lesson. To focus on the good of others and allow God to work on the other parts that we’re not so thrilled about. God is patient with us, so we must be patient with others. SUPER TOUGH, but with God’s strength, WE CAN DO ALL THINGS! Let’s do it all for the glory of God, superhero style!

DAY 114 OF 365 DAYS OF DISCIPLINE!
DISCIPLINE IS THE WAY…
Super tough to be the people God is calling us to be, but when we’re obedient to Him, He leads us on the paths to the best lives! Wink! Wink!
“LET FOOD BE THY MEDICINE AND MEDICINE THY FOOD”
GOD IS SO COOL AND DOWN TO EARTH
I’m a pretty tough momma, so whenever my kids complain to me about feeling pain somewhere, I simply respond, “Pain is a part of life, sweetie! Get over it.” So, today, with the pain I’m feeling in my knee from my running up and down the stairs of our house, I kept going. Professional athlete style, baby! No pain is going to hold us back! Yesterday, my phone pulled up a photo memory of a year ago when I took a picture of the T-shirt of someone I randomly bumped into at the store that said, “There is no end to the pain. You must be numb.” When we both met again at the ice-cream section looking for the same brand and flavor ice cream, I knew it was a message from God to me regarding some emotional pain and hurts I was feeling. God is pretty talkative!
So this morning, in venting to God AGAIN about this same pain (He keeps telling me to vent anything to Him, but to others, I should be silent!), I felt Him having some fun with me in my spirit, mockingly and funnily like I repeat to my kids, ‘Pain is a part of life, sweetie! Get over it. There is no end to the pain. You must be numb.’ God, very funny!
That’s the sweet and cool side of God I’ve come to know and love. He meets us exactly where we are and gives us His perspectives on handling difficult and awkward situations. I’m talking in every aspect of our lives, He is a total expert. That’s why I love these runs where I get to vent, strategize and focus, getting God’s wisdom on how to deal with matters that I need His assistance with wrapping my head around.
His advice never fails! Whenever I look back, I see that His ways are always best. In fact, better than best because He always exceeds my expectations. I’m sticking with my brother Kevin’s advice, “Neeks, I want you to work on being wise.” For me, that means going to God and continually asking,
“Jesus (God), what is your perspective on every moment of my life? Every relationship. Every decision. Every circumstance. And how can I enter into it to glorify you.” – Dr. Drew Sams (Bel Air Church)
NOT ALWAYS EASY! BUT ALWAYS BEST! Start pausing and inviting God to be a part of every moment of your life and every move you make, seeking to please, honor, and glorify Him. Not letting the disappointments, challenges and setbacks discourage us but keeping our eyes fixed on God who can guide and navigate us safely through any troubled waters. Off to go between watching Netflix with hubs and studying with my super intelligent and wise son, Emmie. Doing everything for the glory of God! Amen!

DAY 115 OF 365 DAYS OF DISCIPLINE!
DISCIPLINE IS THE WAY…
I can’t stop thanking some of my siblings who are a part of a group we call ‘A GOD ALLIANCE’ with me. Never underestimate the value and influence of the people you have in your life. This group gets me to the starting line of a run every day where I can vent to God, get His incredible perspective and wisdom on my life, and leave every run better than I started. Just so I can have a pic to share with them that I completed a run from my Nike Running Club app. THANK YOU, MY PEEPS!!! You’re helping to make your sister better! Forever grateful for our alliance! May we all do BIG things for the glory of God!
“LET FOOD BE THY MEDICINE AND MEDICINE THY FOOD”
“NOTHING’S GOING TO MAKE ME SAD TODAY!”
That was from my son, Siah, a short while ago. He has a mini-vacation break from school, and as I heard him say yesterday, he’s going to savor every moment of it! Seeing him so happy made me happy, and I feel that’s where God wants us all. Making up our minds like Siah to let nothing get us down:
“I am not telling you this because I need anything. I have learned to be satisfied with the things I have and with everything that happens. I know how to live when I am poor, and I know how to live when I have plenty. I HAVE LEARNED THE SECRET OF BEING HAPPY AT ANY TIME IN EVERYTHING THAT HAPPENS, when I have enough to eat and when I go hungry, when I have more than I need and when I do not have enough.” – Philippians 4:11-12
God has been lovingly teaching me this beautiful lesson, THAT I CAN TURN ANY SITUATION INTO HEAVEN! Yeah, baby! Like yesterday, I decided to move a big project I’m working on into my daughter Julie’s bedroom. I told my husband, “I need to connect with Julie’s energy of hard work, focus, and discipline. You know your wife doesn’t like working hard!” Fast forward to me getting settled there to begin working; I read a 50 day of discipline poster Julie constructed and posted on her closet that said, “Wake up at 6:30 daily.” Thirty seconds later, I turn on my computer to start working, and IMMEDIATELY upon opening it, the time was EXACTLY 6:30 (Wink! Wink!) am in the US. Of course, I took this as another one of my God winks where everything lined up EXTREMELY too perfect to be some ordinary coincidence. It was God reminding me that where ever I am, there He is (including my daughter’s bedroom!):
“Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there. If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast.” – Psalm 139:8-10
He changes my perspective on everything. From being stressed out about this challenge, He said that I should look at it lightheartedly as something me and Him can handle TOGETHER – have fun with it, Nik! And He has been helping me, nudging me in my spirit the way I should go about it.
Even my computer was so slow because it’s almost completely full, and God even provided me with a new one, already preloaded with everything I need to get my work done. It was my nephew Duro’s old computer that he emptied of all its content before giving it to us that made it super fast for what I need to get done. Then my assistant in Nigeria got it and loaded it with all the programs we needed. When I had the issue with my computer, I asked her for it, and it turns out that my other nephew, Gbenga, had already brought it home, not knowing it was meant to stay at the office. So all of this was God going before me and making sure I have everything I need exactly when I need it. SUCH LOVE HE SHOWS ME!!! God’s spoilt girl here!
I’ve been asking Him if I can take a break from the postings until I got this project over with and look what showed up at 50 minutes past the hour for my appointment with Him today when I went to page 50 of our family’s website, werollwithgod.com:
“Even when I’ve been asking God to give up the posts and videos while I catch myself, He took me to a direct post that said THE WORK FOR HIM WAS TO CONTINUE (Wink! Wink!). ‘No problem, You’re the Boss!!’ But seeing such a specific response to my question made me feel so close to Him.”
TO THE POINT THAT I WANT US DOING EVERYTHING FOR AND WITH GOD. The offenses, challenges, disappointments, frustrations WILL COME!!! But we can present everything to God, get His perspective, SHAKE OFF WHATEVER IS WEIGHING US DOWN AND HOLDING US BACK and keep moving confidently forward, KNOWING HE HAS OUR BACK! LET’S DO GREAT THINGS FOR GOD THIS YEAR! Heehaw!!!
That was my wonderful hubby threatening us the other day! And, boy oh boy, I was furious because he kept repeating it that he would ABANDON us if we didn’t go along with him in a particular decision. But, let me tell ya, God is so involved in the details of my life because that very morning, for my appointment with Him, He reminded me of such crucial values that He has been training me on this year:
▪ Loving everyone for both their strengths and their weaknesses
▪ To focus on what’s excellent, true, noble, and praiseworthy
▪ To be faithful, loyal, dependable, and trustworthy, no matter what anyone else was doing
▪ Forgiveness
▪ To be on chill (not taking anything too seriously)
▪ Patience
▪ Gentleness
▪ Be still and know that I am your God
Right after our fight, I went for a run with God. And like my brother said, these runs are where I get clarity and wisdom from God as to what He would have me to do. There I was venting to God, but the feeling from Him was that He wanted me to be silent and forgive hubs for his tongue that is like a razor at times. I said, ‘Ok, Boss!’ Then, a truck drove by with a license plate with one word on it: HUG. That was a wink from God because that’s our little code word for when I get in my crazy mode. I imagine God is hugging me! That HUG melted away all my frustrations!
“You owe us an apology!” I jokingly said to hubby when I got back. That was my way of making peace, giving him a kiss and a hug and telling him he is still the world’s best husband (he really is!). But God had something He wanted to say to me after hubby kept saying he was going to ABANDON us. This showed up at the end of a blog from a friend Charles who I haven’t heard from in years:
“The Bible says, “God has said, I will never leave you; I will never ABANDON (Wink! Wink!) you.”
This lined up too perfectly to be some ordinary coincidence! It was God again revealing His invisible Presence with me even in the messiest of details. I promise you guys; it has been years since I’ve heard the person sending me that message. All perfectly timed by God to let me know He will never leave or abandon me! With such love from God, I even feel more love and committed to my hubby. Go figure! God increases my capacity to love and forgive, feeling so loved by Him no matter how many times I mess up.
I feel the purpose of life is to learn God’s voice and RIDE with Him on the best life adventure ever! Things won’t always be pretty and perfect, but I do promise a life of peace, love, joy, and strength that will help you go through anything. Will you commit to RIDING WITH GOD? To make Him the center of all your decisions as you journey through life with Him as your Partner and Guide.
