GOD, I ACCEPT THE CORRECTIONS
Let me tell ya, God is pretty talkative when you have ears to hear Him. So, late last night, I was up working when a glitch forced me to exit out of the software I was using. And because I know God’s personality so well, I figured out that He was trying to get my attention. ‘OK, Boss!’ I said, and decided to have an appointment with Him.
I felt Him say to listen to a message from Devon Franklin on YouTube. I wasn’t attracted to any of them right away that came up in the original search, and I felt God saying to go directly to his channel. I paid attention! Getting there, I incredibly watched Devon’s last video from a month ago, and it was a direct message from God to me. It was pretty freaky the way he pinpointed precisely some of my current BIG weaknesses.
Like he asked how many of us were checking our phones every other second – MEEEEEE!!!! He explained that one of the keys to a Christian (Godly) lifestyle is FOCUS. He importantly asked, “How focused are you on where God is taking you? Or are you allowing certain distractions to get you off course?” Wow! I’m talking DIRECT message from God to super distracted Nik over here. He summed it up perfectly like this:
“The more FOCUS, the more FOLLOW THROUGH, the more FAVOR, the more SUCCESS. The more DISTRACTIONS, the more DETOURS, the more DEPRESSION, the more ANXIETY.In order for us to be who God has called us to be and do what He has called us to do, it requires FOCUS. We really have to start looking at our environment as to what is distracting us from being all He is calling us to be. Ask, “Lord, what is eating up my time?”
Then, yesterday I felt God whispering to me to add this one sentence at the end of my post: “No judging allowed.” So when I heard Devon say this, I couldn’t believe it:
“One of the main things that come up with Christians today that shouldn’t be apart of the Christian (Godly) lifestyle but is too often associated with the Christian lifestyle is JUDGEMENT.”
Oh my goodness, he was AGAIN talking DIRECTLY to me as He precisely confirmed what I do wrong all day long – JUDGE others when God is calling me to love and enjoy them.
God, I accept, and thank You for the corrections. Today, I recommit myself to being better, hoping to shine even brighter your light of nonjudgement and love to a watching world. So help me God. Amen.
“And what does the Lord require of you?
To act justly and to love mercy
_ and to walk humbly with your God. – Michas 6:8_
