I love my relationship with God, and I want the whole world here with me picking up what I call my God winks — these little glimmers just to let us know His presence is always with us.
You have to know how to pick up God’s presence.
WINK 1: THE CHAMELEON
Yesterday I reminded my Bro Kevin the story of the chameleon that he taught me — how it changes colors based on its surroundings.
I said, “K, when the grass turns brown, we turn brown. When the grass turns green, we turn green.”
Today I’m putting away laundry. Of all the shirts to fall — which one fell? The one with the chameleon! With all these colors!
GOD WHISPER: Nik, the God who arranged for that lizard shirt to fall is the same God asking you to keep adjusting like that lizard. I’m teaching you moment by moment.
WING 2: THE UNFAIR SITUATION
Yesterday someone asked me, “Nik, how do you deal when people are unfair?”
I told her: Every moment I’m talking to God. “God, what would You have me do?” Sometimes He says: “Nik, just forgive. Pretend you don’t see what you see. Pretend you don’t hear what you hear. Shake off the disappointments.”
Because even when others are unfair with me, His ways with me are more than fair – God blows me away with His love, care and attention, so I say God, anything to please You, let me do that.
Can you believe what showed up in the kids devotional today, right after that conversation? Title: “That’s Not Fair” — Colossians 3:13
“If somebody does wrong to you, then forgive him. Forgive each other because the Lord forgave you… Life is not fair… But when somebody mistreats you, try to see it as a chance to show them My grace… Don’t try to get even… Just let it go… My opinion is the one that really counts.”
“When others mistreat you, remember this: I freely forgave all your sins. I clothe you in shiny robes of righteousness… This isn’t fair either. It’s the amazing gift of My grace. When others treat you unfairly, remember that My ways with you are much better than fair.” Jesus Calling for Kids
Nobody can tell me that lined up by accident!
GOD WHISPER: Exactly what you told her — I am confirming. When others are unfair, remember My ways with YOU are more than fair. You wear shiny robes. You are My favorite.
So today — we keep adjusting like the chameleon. Brown grass, green grass. And when it’s unfair, we pretend we don’t see, we forgive quickly, and we keep our eyes on Papa God.
He is our anchor. He is more than fair.

When the grass is unfair — when people do you wrong, bad reviews, theft, harsh words — the adjustment God often asks for is: Forgive fast. Pretend you don’t see. Withhold words out of love. Not because it’s fair, but because HIS ways with YOU are more than fair. You wear shiny robes.

1. Daily Appointment with God (5 minutes):
Like you did — “Let me run and have a quick appointment with God.” Open the kids devotional, or page 45, or just sit. Ask: “God, what do You have to say to me in this moment?” That’s how you pick up winks.
2. Ask The Grass Question (30 seconds, all day):
Before you respond to anyone — Emmie, Papa Bear, Bro K, customer, kids — whisper: “God, what color is the grass right now? Brown or green? What do You need me to be?”
– Brown = be soft, patient, listen, share their weakness
– Green = be brave, build, take action, grow
3. The “Pretend You Don’t See” Filter (When it’s unfair):
When someone is unfair, run it through God first, not people. Vent to God: “God, You see what happened?” Then ask: “Do I need to respond or withhold words out of love?”
If God says withhold — you shake off disappointment, forgive quickly, don’t tell everyone. Remember: His opinion counts, you wear shiny robes, His ways are more than fair.
4. The Family Team Reminder (Emmie’s wisdom):
When you feel torn — like “support Emmie OR support Papa Bear” — remember: Supporting one IS supporting all. One family, one team, one field. When you turn green with Emmie in business here, you water Papa Bear there.

“To the weak became I as weak, that I might gain the weak: I am made all things to all men, that I might by all means save some.”
> This IS the chameleon. When the grass is brown, we turn brown. Share weakness to gain them.
2. Romans 12:15
“Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep.”
> Green grass = rejoice with them. Brown grass = weep with them. Same verse as your brown/green.

“If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally…”
> For your “God, what color is the grass right now? What would You have me do?” — He will tell you moment by moment.

Papa God,
Thank You for letting us pick up Your God wings today. Thank You for showing us that You are always, always, always with us — in deodorant, in laundry, in a lizard, in a devotional page.
Today we say: Let Your will be done. Every moment, every second, let us keep our eyes on You.
Give us wisdom, Papa. Moment by moment wisdom.
Teach us to ask: What color is the grass right now?
When the grass is brown, help us turn brown — soft, patient, sharing weakness, weeping with those who weep.
When the grass is green, help us turn green — brave, strong, building, rejoicing with those who rejoice.
Make us holy chameleons, adjusting not by sight, but by faith.
And when people are unfair with us, give us courage to adjust like You adjust with us.

We pray for our families — that supporting one is supporting all. One team, one field, one family. What we build here waters there.
We will hold Your hand super tight. We will walk with You, calm and kind, strong and courageous — all at once.
