“YOU DON’T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT ME, MAN!”
That was me to my angel/brother/messenger from God, Kevin, today! “You’ve trained me well!” I continued. Honestly, I didn’t want to run to my God tree this morning, but I said, ‘Nik, get your you know what to that tree!’ I’m so happy I did because God used that opportunity to confirm a conversation with Kevin yesterday. Kevin and I agreed that I would WISELY speak about certain issues, but in some other areas, I would be SILENT. So, because I got to the tree at precisely 8:00, I went to page 8 of our family’s website and look what showed up:
“Learn to be WISE AND SILENT (Wink! Wink!).”
I explained to Kevin yesterday that this silence has been God’s message to me for a while now. NOT EVERYTHING HAS TO BE SAID!!! SOMETIMES WE MUST BE PROFESSIONAL IGNORERS, PRETENDING WE DON’T SEE WHAT WE SEE OR HEAR WHAT WE HEAR! It may make no sense to anyone else, but I know that is what God has been telling me about leaving specific battles in His hands to fight on my behalf. So, the wiser Nik has learned to wisely choose the battles that God Himself would have me fight and to leave the others with Him to work on in the spiritual realm on my behalf. Are you guys getting this crucial message? Time and energy are valuable; we must spend them wisely, doing what God would have us do. KK? I’m going with this prayer:
‘God, at every moment, in every relationship, every decision, and every circumstance. How may I enter into it and glorify You? God, anything to please You, let me learn. Amen’
I was honestly so disappointed when I had to let a staff go recently. He came to see me yesterday about getting his job back, but the first thing I noticed was alcohol on his breath. I used it as an opportunity to explain to my son Emmie the importance of having a strong relationship with God where we are not looking to drugs or alcohol to help us cope when life gets tough. I stress to our kids that we do our best and leave the rest with God. Crucially, we don’t have to handle life alone. Our level of faith in God changes everything about our lives. The best advice Kevin ever gave me was to prioritize God and get closer to Him. This is where God wants us:
“Isn’t your goal union with God at every moment of your duty, and in all your relations with others whom you love for My sake?” – He and I
God is truly our most excellent friend when we get to know Him! Make sure you are having alone times with Him every day like where you are learning his voice and His principles and values for your life. I promise you, God’s guidance is always the best! AND JUST KNOWING YOU HAVE THE CREATOR OF THE UNIVERSE WALKING WITH YOU IN EVERY MOMENT GIVES SUCH PEACE. Even when He asks difficult stuff of us we can trust His guidance. Let our goal be to be in a union with God every moment, wisely pausing and asking for His perspective in every aspect of our lives. Seeking to please Him in all our ways! Amen!
