My husband sent me this WhatsApp message this morning that I didn’t agree with: “For people in business, 2020 is really just a year for staying alive. Don’t even talk about your dreams or plans.” I responded: “We’re rolling with God, boo, and anything is possible with Him!” These are the verses I’m sticking with:
“Trust the LORD with all your heart, and don’t depend on your own understanding. Remember the LORD in all you do, and he will give you success.” – Proverbs 3:5-6
Like my little ten-year-old son, Joshie explained, we have three voices in our head: our voice, God’s voice, and doubt. I want us all tapping into God’s voice because He knows EVERYTHING. He has guidance to help us in every aspect of our lives. I love this post I came across, minutes after sending that text to my husband:
“Many of our thoughts leave out the Holy Spirit and thus limits our success. If you always put God in the equation, everything becomes possible. To walk in the Spirit, you must always be attentive to what He is saying at all times.”
That’s why I’m so excited that my little son is learning God’s voice (The Holy Spirit). Heehaw! Following God’s leading is the way to a highly successful life. I still can’t get over how I was stuck with a big problem on Saturday, and I woke up to one thought from God: ‘Do this! I did exactly that, and ended up resolving the issue with a very knowledgeable gentleman. Thanks, God!
“My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:” – John 10:27
“The LORD says, “I will make you wise and show you where to go. I will guide you and watch over you.” – Psalm 32:8
As you practice listening to God, you begin to know His thoughts versus other thoughts. Like on Saturday, I knew it was a God thought, with His solution magically popping to my mind. He has helped me so often in the past, that I know His thoughts quite well now from my own, and I’ve wisely learned to pay attention.
“If you go he wrong way—to the right or to the left—you will hear a voice behind you saying, “This is the right way. You should go this way.” – Isaiah 30:21
I know it’s a rough time for everyone now, and we need God’s guidance more than ever. Don’t forget your alone times/appointments with Him where we learn to hear His voice even clearer for when we go back out into this hectic, scary and confusing world right now. I constantly give Him my hand to hold, while I blindly follow where He leads.
“But blessed is the one who trusts in the LORD, whose confidence is in him.” – Jeremiah 17:7
