“AIN’T WORRIED ‘BOUT NOTHING, MAN”Ain’t worried ‘bout nothing! That’s because God sees me. He figures out the most astonishing ways to show me such DEEP love and concern. He comes and sits with me. Talks to me intimately about situations that are bothering me.Like the other day, I called a friend to say thank you. I had reread an old post about a Saturday, years ago, where I just felt so hurt that I just wanted to hide under the covers and hide from the world. But I pushed myself to go out with the kids to her house and ended up opening Joel Osteen’s book and the very chapter I opened to said this:

“Don’t let bitterness take root. We all have unfair and unjust things happen to us; that’s a part of life. When we are hurt, we can choose to hold on to that pain and become bitter, or we can choose to let it go and trust God to make it up to us.”

Fast forward to this week, I needed this crucial reminder AGAIN, and I was so grateful to God for connecting me with such a positive friend. I left her house that day so happy, trusting God to make up that disappointment. Minutes after calling to thank her, I ended up reading Joel Osteen’s emailed message for the day, and unbelievably it was about this same thing:

“Life is too short to go through it with bitterness poisoning your life. If you’ll let go of the hurt they inflicted and live out of a place of forgiveness, out of a place of wholeness, you’ll not only feel better, but that’s what allows the Creator of the universe to go to work and take you higher.”

There was also a prayer there that meant so much to me:

“Help me to do good and bless those who have done me wrong. I am leaving them in Your hands and believing that You are taking me to new levels.”

Do you see how God stoops down to our level to let us know He is with us. This email was no coincident, it was a direct communication from God to me. Nikki, I see you and what you’ve been going through. Leave this matter with me and go on with your life being the happy, joyful, and at peace Nikki I created you to be. Yes, Boss! And let me tell ya, God gives me more than I can ever imagine or expect from Him that my constant prayer is simple: “God, may Your will be done.”
