That was my son, Emmie, as I made French fries for him! “They’re like McDonald’s fries,” he said in excitement. To God be the glory for me to be in this head and physical space to be able to take care of our daughters, who are down from having wisdom teeth removed, and our two sons. I had a full day waking up early to look for cars to purchase for our business, went out on my run with God, back to actually attempt to purchase cars with hubby over the phone, then to the grocery store filling everyone’s special requests, back to buy more cars with hubs, and then to cook, with the entire day being filled with such GRATTUDE and JOY. “I can do everything through him who gives me strength.” – Philippians 4:13 (HUGE SMILE)
With everything going on, though, I said I must go and meet with God at our new special place. God didn’t disappoint me; He showed up! It was a conversation with my brother, Eddie, that God used to reveal His Presence. Stopping my run on the Nike Running Club App, I saw the number 15, so I went to page 15 of our family’s website, and exactly, like word for word, what I said to my brother showed up as God agreed with what I said regarding where I go wrong in my marriage:
“Yes, Nik, IT IS YOU WHO HAS TO CHANGE!!!” It was God who put it in my spirit to relisten to this Devon Franklin interview, and I’m so grateful. I look too much to my husband for love, security, happiness, and fulfillment, which is not his job. That’s work that I need to do for myself, not looking to anyone else to provide these things for me.”
That has been the mistake your girl has been making for too long, and God is forever correcting me. He wants us to get our love, security, happiness, and approval from Him! Other humans are not capable of providing this to us, only God. If we lean too much on others, we’re only going to get seriously disappointed. They are weak, just like us, with their demons and struggles. My new mindset is to look to God in every moment, leaning on Him more and other humans way less. So help me God!
“And they lived happily ever after,” is the sign at the front door of our home. I was expecting the fairy tale happy ending (which hasn’t happened!!!), but God gave me a beautiful new perspective today listening to the Rich Roll podcast. A guest empathized the word “LIVED,” meaning we get to LIVE (we’re not dead!) these lives that are full of ups and downs, struggles, and setbacks, but STILL beautiful adventurers. I went out on my run with God so happy after that, thinking how I get to LIVE this extraordinary life with Him, filled with purpose and joy, feeling like my life is a personal mission with Him to be His Rockstar mom, wife, and person, all for His glory. Heehaw!
I tried today to purchase some Kia Fortes. I got the feeling to look up that word “forte” and it means “one’s strong point.” My strong point, without a doubt, is my closeness to God. Knowing that He is right there with me, helping and loving me through all of it. He is my greatest friend and yours too if you invite His invisible Presence into every moment with you. He is just waiting for us to acknowledge Him and listen to Him regarding every aspect of our lives.
…and they LIVED happily ever after with God by their side. Wink! Wink!
