“WHAT DO YOU SEE MOMMY DOES WHEN SHE GETS MAD AT DADDY?”
I asked my eleven-year-old son, Joshie, yesterday. “You forgive him,” he quickly responded. “And why do I forgive him?” I questioned him. I wasn’t expecting this response, though: “For God’s glory.” Say what? That’s my son, y’all. (HUGE SMILE) I felt God whisper to me the other day on my run, ‘Nik, don’t forget that you’re the glue keeping your family together.’ I said back to Him, ‘Ok, Boss.’ A few minutes later, I get under my God tree, and He lovingly confirmed it on our family’s 112-page website, with these words showing up:
“… and being the people God has called us to be. Especially about being the glue that keeps our families together.”
I’m feeling so close to God right now!!! I’m His guinea pig where He takes me through all sorts of ups and down to hopefully show you an example of a person going through the messiness and difficulties of life from the critical God perspective. Knowing as I show up doing everything for His glory in each moment, this is how He lovingly guides me on the path to a gorgeous life. It ain’t always pretty, but I’m blessed with nothing to complain about when I look at the BIG picture.
“The answer is, if you eat or drink, or if you do anything, do it all for the glory of God.” – 1 Corinthians 10:31
The reason I was so thrilled by this response from my son Joshie was that at 4 am I was up looking for inventory for our business. We’re resilient, baby, never giving up! And this picture with my son, Emmie, with the caption “DO IT ALL FOR THE GLORY OF GOD,” was my inspiration to get up so early and jump into the highly competitive market right now of car buying.
God is even behind the scenes giving us a new direction for our business of buying lower-priced cars. It was one day that we accidentally bought a car at the auction. It just so happened that with one click, we were the new owners of a Kia Rio. About a week later, we sold it to a gentleman, who is extremely happy not to have to catch a bus any longer. He also said his son would be so excited that he could pick him up on the weekends. We got to be a part of making someone else’s life easier and happier. When I told my husband about it, he said, “That’s the hand of God.”
And that’s my testimony! God is intimately involved in our lives. We tried the less expensive cars before, but it didn’t work out for us. But all the mistakes from buying the wrong cars have taught us how to buy better inventory wisely. I’m amazed how God can turn all our mistakes and failures into valuable lessons. That’s why the Bible says he takes our sins and transgressions from us as far as the east is from the west. He is not a judgmental God writing down everything we do wrong. He loves us unconditionally, no matter how badly we have made a mess of things. Every experience is either a blessing or a valuable lesson!
“Those who look to him for help will be radiant with joy; no shadow of shame will darken their faces.” – Psalm 34:5
A customer shared with us recently how they were on drugs for a long time, but by God’s grace, they are drug-free and doing well. We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us! It was a day that I will never forget that I was feeling good for nothing, and God said that I should give Him my nothingness, knowing He created the entire world from NOTHING. That’s what I constantly do. Right now, we have very few cars to sell, but I’m giving God our nothingness, believing nothing is too difficult for Him. I can’t stop replaying a song in my head that I felt was God singing to me:
“I must make you understand I want to be your Man” – Zapp and Roger
That means I’m having constant conversations with Him about everything. Including the cars to buy and not to buy based on my feelings from Him. He is with me 24/7, and in God’s Presence, there is fullness of joy! I can just show up every day, happily teaching my kids the family hustle, as my brother Kevin called it, knowing God is my Man, backing me up with His help, love, favor, wisdom, peace, courage, and strength. HEEHAW!!!! He is your Man, too!!! Start seeking Him in every decision. Every relationship. Every circumstance.
“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” – John 14:27
