That was me to my daughter, Julie, yesterday. And I continued, “Thank you, I needed that embarrassment!” I was asking everyone conversation questions, and one came up as to what we obsess about, and my daughter hit the nail on the head as to what her mom is a little bit too crazy over lately. For her to call me out like that was EXACTLY the wake-up call I needed. God had this to say to me as well in an appointment with Him yesterday::
“‘Those I love, I reprove and chasten (humiliate)’ (Rev 3:19).
Therefore, my friend, our supernatural reaction to this humiliation should be an act of deep gratitude: ‘I thank you, Lord, for you have humbled me.’… your soul soaked in humility and will give greater holiness to your life – and very probably an unsuspected effectiveness to your activity…now you have the opportunity to know some defect in your character, in your formation or in your attitudes. You are not worse; or at least you are in the best position to set about being better… You will now know where the evil lies that you should eliminate, you know the defect you should fight against, and you know what you should avoid…”
Julie revealed a severe defect in my character, and now I know where the evil lies that I can work on being better. “When I am weak, then I am strong.” I can now work on catching myself in those moments and have a little conversation with God, who is my constant Companion. I can present everything to Him, and we can hash it out together. He’s my therapist and He says I can say anything I want to Him, but to others, I must practice SILENCE. God, I’m working on that one!
What defect do you have in your character that you need to work on with God? Thanks to Julie, I now know mines! Get God involved in every aspect of your life. That’s the essence of all these blogs and vlogs that God wants to be intimately involved in our lives to help us. That’s the great news I have that we can walk hand in hand in every moment seeking God’s love, guidance, and help no matter the struggles we face. Let’s live our best lives with Him! Thanks, my Julie and Ember. Our fierce babes’ alliance remains STRONG, where we help each other work on both our strengths and weaknesses. May God help us all. Amen!
