Trying to pretend to be happy, even though I was fuming inside that this was the place my husband was taking us for our 17th wedding anniversary on Sunday. I then suggested to Julie to pick some conversation starter questions, and she asked, “What song would be the theme song of your life?” I answered, ‘Hustling’ by Rick Ross because between my work for God, supporting my husband, and trying to be super wife and mom, and I’m constantly HUSTLING to give my best. And can you believe they all laughed at me! Like, mom, you don’t work hard at all! My husband has convinced them that I’m the slacker of the family, but I’ve learned to get my approval from God, not other humans! God sees everything we do, and He loves us unconditionally. Wink! Wink!
But, in thinking about the question some more, I’ve decided that my theme song is really ‘Arms Around You’ by XXXTENTACION & Lil Pump, where God is continually singing these lyrics to me:
“Wrap me arms right around you, girl, oh yeah
Good lovin’ got all around you
To make sure no one could harm you”
This isa very special song to me after jogging one day in the U.S. and feeling all crazy, I stopped to play this song ‘Arms Around You’ and as I looked up, and directly in from of me was a car with a license plate with the word “HUG” on it. I TOOK THIS AS NO COINCIDENT!! It was a HUG from God with Him wrapping His arms around me.
So, fast forward to this morning, after writing about this being my theme song just yesterday, I’m looking for an exercise playlist on my phone that my daughter, Ember, played yesterday. I couldn’t find it so I just quickly played another one and amazingly, it was the first one to play randomly. Again, out of the millions of songs that Apple Music selects for these playlists, for this ONE to be the first to play was NO COINCIDENT. This was God’s way of WRAPPING HIS ARMS AROUND ME first thing this morning. God’s girl, baby!
I’m just praying for His wisdom to guide me through whatever situations come my way on a moment by moment basis. In my appointment today with Him, though, He just asked me to lean my head in His lap and rest in His love KNOWING He is always with me. God, DONE!
KEEP CALM—YOU’RE ROLLING WITH GOD
